So hard carrying the defense on your team. It could be easy if they have the chemistry like how Dray do it on Dubs as he spearhead their defense. Clarkson is streaky and sucks at defense, our best perimeter defender Royce 3&D guy I’ve seen countless other teams go right by him like he’s not even there. You mentioned Conley, he isn’t playing as well as last year, his problem is his size, he’s quick enough but not very tall or strong. The rest of the perimeter is average with Bogey who is white and not quick enough on his feet. Gobert has his flaws too but his paint defense makes up for that. Snyder finally went with a small ball lineup and it actually worked last game, only took him a year to figure out how to make that adjustment 🤦🏻♂️. The problem is that Donovan Mitchell is already the best scorer, passer, playmaker, ball handler and has been the leader of this team for years when they have failed him. Listening to him speak and how much emotion he has in the game would show just that, not a simply quote about “It starts with the defense”… he has taken accountability time after time even when sometimes he shouldn’t need to i.e. that bubble series when he shattered records and had no reliable supporting help. But now he NEEDS to also be an elite perimeter defender apparently when Trae Young, Steph Curry, Ja Morant, Booker, etc are not… the reason nobody talks about them is if their team is in a better position, it’s because the perimeter guys around him are elite defenders and reliable catch and shoot guys. If not, then they are still praised for carrying their teams. But name me 3 other guards that are the best scorer, passer, playmaker, ball handler, leadership responsibility and the perimeter defender all to elite abilities because that’s exactly what people want out of Mitchell rn. He isn’t a great defender but if you watched the game he had 2 ultimate breakdowns, leading to 4 points (instead of stat watching). Others include covering for Gobert on a Kleber 3PT that he couldn’t get to so Mitchell was the credited defender, an offensive foul on Dinwiddie that was a no-call, and a heavily contested falling backward bank shot by Brunson, along with several more. You see 2-3 clips on Twitter and think you have the answers. Also he’s been passing the ball more frequently than anyone on the team this series setting them up for more potential scoring opportunities, most of which are actually within the paint. So the notion that “Mitchell doesn’t pass” is broken, because what does that say about the entire team? Offensive threats like Donovan Mitchell don’t just grow on trees and they rely on him offensively just as much as Gobert defensively to satisfy several different roles on this team. When they double him, guys like Conley and Clarkson make bad decisions which leads to Mitchell to take matters into his own hands, you saw it again yesterday ESPECIALLY with Conley. You want him to score 40 a game??? Because nobody besides Michael Jordan has won a series doing that ever, and (1) He’s not Michael Jordan + (2) People would only use it as MORE fuel to push a false agenda of being a “ballhog” if they DID lose… In the end, the problem isn’t Gobert… but it’s not Donovan Mitchell either. And I’d be damned if I was gonna let pages with a lot of supporters like yours among others misrepresent the biggest glaring issue of the Jazz which is the coaching and supporting guys. Shaq has won 4 rings and always credited the “other guys”, which have never been dependable for Donovan Mitchell outside of maybe his debut playoff series against OKC in 2018 (WAY different team now). The team never provided offensive consistency to support him, he is now getting ALL the blame for the defensive inconsistency, the front office traded his best friend on the team this year for unused assets… and you want him to be happy and continue putting on a poker face? He’s been good for the most part in 2nd halves of what he is expected to do on his team this series and doing his job per normal. His efficiency hasn’t been great, and compared to maybe his amazing 2020 and 2021 series’ this is worse, but he’s still been Donovan Mitchell. Get him and Gobert a supporting cast that can knock down threes and take defensive responsibility like Booker, Curry, etc has and they will look great once again.
@@Nick-sr4fe NOBODY ON THIS SHIT HOLE TEAM CAN DEFEND THE PERIMETER!!!! You telling me Trae Young is a passable defender? Ja Morant is a passable defender??? The same Ja Morant that Pat Bev said was too little 5 times in the FIRST QUARTER yesterday??? They may have scored more on Mitchell, but they BLEW BY Conley and Bojan more. The blow bys are the most killer because it puts Gobert in a bad spot. But even GOBERT got blown by once yesterday, he’s not perfect either… Donovan Mitchell is a generational scorer that you aren’t just gonna find randomly. And if you can’t surround him with defenders and knockdown shooters like how Memphis has AROUND Ja for example then that’s on the front office. The same one who employs Quinn Snyder, who if they REALLY think Mitchell is getting exposed (which is funny because they came back with him ON the floor and Conley and Gobert OFF it) then why is he still going man? And switch everything? You can say Mitchell isn’t a good defender but his lack of perimeter defense is far from the reason they’re losing this series. It’s about adjustments and reliability, and the coaching staff and other guys lack that respectively. Watch the games.
The Mavs are not some garbage team without Luka. This is an insane narrative. They went 8-9 without him in the regular season. Their worst loss was 8 points to the Suns in Phoenix.
I feel for Gobert. Dude’s been in a no-win situation for so long. Would love to see him in an offense that utilizes the pick and roll, and actually dishes to the roll man
To be fair, Gobert is actually really good at switching. Back before they got Mitchell, when they had exum and Hayward and guys who gave a shit on defense, he switched a lot more and has always been excellent at defending in isolation. There's only been like 1 year he gave up average iso efficiency, he's reliably been holding guys to like 0.8xx points per possession. The reason he doesn't switch anymore is cuz of the other end of that switch, Marcus Morris with Mitchell on him is an absolute freebie compared to Paul George guarded by Gobert
All the offensive shit is totally fair though. Dude is a turnover machine. That 70%FG shooting is a mirage hiding all the passes he straight up just drops. If coughing the ball up showed up in your field goal percentage Rudy's would be a lot lower
They don't run plays for Rudy on Off. The dude can score down low and like you said he's right there for an easy lob and then Mitchell or Clarkson will put up a tough contested shot. Rudy can score the ball in the paint but they don't care lol
The Jazz are really like one defensive specialist wing, one average two-way forward and an attitude adjustment from Mitchell away from making some noise. But they're probably blowing up after this year or worse doing nothing.
I 100% agree that DMitch should be better on defense and especially against guys like Brunson and Dinwiddie but for guys like Bullock, Finney Smith, and Kleber your gassin it there cause those are big wings/Fowards and for the case of Kleber that’s a whole big are obvious mismatches especially for a 6’1 2 guard
I can’t stand the Utah Jazz and their overtly racist fans. And there’s literally nothing jazzy about Utah. The should’ve left the name in New Orleans and called themselves the Utah Mormons or the Utah Saltines.
Gotta be super careful with being sponsored by betting companies, and definitely how you word things - betting is not easy money. Over 99% of people who bet a statistically significant amount of times are long-term losers. There's a reason it's a billion dollar industry (for the betting companies, not for the bettors).
After last year wren they dropped that series against the clippers I lost all faith in Donavan Mitchell being that guy and the Utah jazz actually doing anything worthwhile in the post season
Actually a nice take on the Jazz specially with what their doing with Rudy. Honestly coaches should push their players to be a defensive team. Coz even is you got a DPoY in the paint, none of it matters in the playoffs if he's the one one playing D. Championship teams usually have 2 defensive players or at least can play defense or have high defensive IQ even if not that talented. Coz having a couple defensive player on a series will definitely increase their chance to win since they can adjust each game. I mean yeah the Warriors f*ck up the NBA with their dynasty with lethal offense but they have great defense having 2 or more player who can legit play defense. Dray, Iggy and Klay were the core of their D. They won't shut down opponents but they will make it hard for them each basket, and in a series, that's very exhausting. Look at the Bucks last year. They had Giannis, Jrue and PJ last year. Yeah Durant had no consistent help, yeah he still got monster numbers but having those 3 made it very hard for him to score and basically made him so exhausted in carrying his team. Yeah NBA had changed to a very fast pace, high offense and entertaining game. But Defense still win Championship. And I'm sure many team would love to have Rudy on their team while he still at his prime.
Dmitch is definitely the most to blame cuz he is a shot chucker who isn't clutch and can't play D to save his life and man his passing is just bad and he isn't off ball and to me he sometimes snagnates the offense and also Gobert is relied to much wayyy to much and should get more likes atleast 10 shots but also he doesn't guard the perimeter great but I just hope the Jazz can turn it around and also shout out to Brunson , ik he was a baller and the Mavs team is deep and good defensively
I don’t think this team is fraudulent but that’s my opinion. I think last year when they were the number 1 seed and people was saying they could contend for a title, that team was fraudulent. They the 5th seed this year right I get that they shouldn’t be getting bounced outta the postseason by a Lukaless Mavs team but going into this series I thought they’d be a first round exit so to meet they aren’t really frauds this season but I agree that they are disappointing.
They’re gonna get the most value back in a trade for Mitchell. Rudy is gonna be making $45 million next year and he’s gonna be 30 in June. Rudy is stuck in Utah. Trade Mitchell while you still can.
The Mavs are a real team that clicks on every cylinder and the Jazz are the exact opposite. I wonder what the narrative is going to be when the Mavs advance to the finals which seems absolutely possible at this point. Booker is out for at least 2 weeks and the Warriors struggled the entire season against Dallas. I got the Mavs as my dark horse to win it all since they also had convincing wins against Boston, the Bucks, the Heat or the Nets
@@Goxilla I’m not saying it’s impossible but the Pelicans and raptors have better chance of winning it all than they do, nobody is with luka a couple of decent role players aint gonna cut it
Joe Ingles was the guy that made the Jazz look decent on perimeter defense. He was the guy that was able to push Conley to the second team and add much needed defense. With Ingles, it was easier to switch and also hide Mitchell on defense. Clarkson, Conley and Mitchell can't defend the perimeter.

Because nobody besides Michael Jordan has won a series doing that ever, and (1) He’s not Michael Jordan + (2) People would only use it as MORE fuel to push a false agenda of being a “ballhog” if they DID lose…
In the end, the problem isn’t Gobert… but it’s not Donovan Mitchell either.
Lol...I read the whole thing and while I don't agree with it all, but you wrote one hell of a comment... Great job?!
They literally attacking Donovan Mitchell on defense. You don’t have to be the best defender but at the very least be a passable one.
Nice essay. Jazz are still frauds
So is Donovan completely blameless now that theyve blown a 3-1 lead, 2-0 lead to a kawhiless clippers, and now down 2-1 to a lukaleas mavs?
Tour fault for giv8ng them expectations lmaooooooooooooo
give brunson his props pls
Gobert play no offense and mitchell play no defense, perfect duo
Honestly forgot the jazz were a team.
He ain’t see Gobert miss that lob
The Mavs are not some garbage team without Luka. This is an insane narrative. They went 8-9 without him in the regular season. Their worst loss was 8 points to the Suns in Phoenix.
“Utah azz” 🐐
And people said that Denver made a mistake by choosing Murray instead of Mitchell to pair with Jokic for the future.
I feel for Gobert. Dude’s been in a no-win situation for so long. Would love to see him in an offense that utilizes the pick and roll, and actually dishes to the roll man
Luka would make this man average 22
Word
IN UR BAG
Die-Hard Jazz fan here, I am in so much pain
Right here with ya .. #takenote
Dons got the athleticism and 6’10 wingspan and he still sucks on defense. He should be full time PG because him and conley are too small
As a mavericks fan I've been so happy recently
Bro me too we might beat the suns with are star players back
@@havoc_storm2339 we could
If the mavs are healthy and the suns are injured I don’t see why we shouldn’t be the favorites. Go mavs! Brunson is earning his money!
this was the toronto raptors from 2016 to 2018. Only difference is, the raptors faced the best player in the nba in those years
Alright Enrique ok! I get you.
Looking mad goofy with that Rudy top 10 take lmaoo
That was a take I made when I evaluated players HALFWAY THROUGH THE SEASON. I don’t know what that has to do with this series
American media always underestimate the Mavericks and never recognize Brunson for being an excellent player
After last year wren they dropped that series against the clippers I lost all faith in Donavan Mitchell being that guy and the Utah jazz actually doing anything worthwhile in the post season
To start I am definitely a fan for the jazz! However, this video has so much truth #utahjazz need to humble themselves and seriously apply this.
This team will make you drink
Dmitch is definitely the most to blame cuz he is a shot chucker who isn't clutch and can't play D to save his life and man his passing is just bad and he isn't off ball and to me he sometimes snagnates the offense and also Gobert is relied to much wayyy to much and should get more likes atleast 10 shots but also he doesn't guard the perimeter great but I just hope the Jazz can turn it around and also shout out to Brunson , ik he was a baller and the Mavs team is deep and good defensively
Aged like milk dead
And who the hell is thinking that the Jazz will do something in the playoffs 🤣🤣🤣real ones knows that they will lose badly
how was the background music called at the start
Utah Jazz are the Dallas cowboys of the NBA
Luka finna send them into a rebuild 😂
If they had prime mike Conley he could help on d but he just doesn’t have it anymore
The Jazz have 3 options:
1) Trade Rudy
2) Trade Mitchell
3) Fire Quinn Snyder
4) Trade the other perimeter guys
They’re gonna get the most value back in a trade for Mitchell. Rudy is gonna be making $45 million next year and he’s gonna be 30 in June. Rudy is stuck in Utah. Trade Mitchell while you still can.
Hmm

The Mavs are a real team that clicks on every cylinder and the Jazz are the exact opposite. I wonder what the narrative is going to be when the Mavs advance to the finals which seems absolutely possible at this point. Booker is out for at least 2 weeks and the Warriors struggled the entire season against Dallas. I got the Mavs as my dark horse to win it all since they also had convincing wins against Boston, the Bucks, the Heat or the Nets
Do you genuinely believe that they’re gonna win it all?
@@adrianthehomie5632 Do you believe it´s impossible at this point?
@@Goxilla I’m not saying it’s impossible but the Pelicans and raptors have better chance of winning it all than they do, nobody is with luka a couple of decent role players aint gonna cut it
@@adrianthehomie5632 12 hours later and the Raptors and Pelicans are eliminated. Wanna come again?
Malone John Stockton one of the best players of all time!
I rather give up layups lay ups are two points corner threes are 3 points
This a perimeter centric league you gotta stop giving up wide open threes
Joe Ingles was the guy that made the Jazz look decent on perimeter defense. He was the guy that was able to push Conley to the second team and add much needed defense.
With Ingles, it was easier to switch and also hide Mitchell on defense. Clarkson, Conley and Mitchell can't defend the perimeter.
The Jazz really dropped the ball by letting the Pelicans get C.J. Mccullom. If Donovan had C.J he wouldn't be struggling.
Amazing dude, today d Mitchell decide to pass to gobert for.once and that shit wins the game. I don't believe it
Being a jazz fan who can't switch teams sucks
Good vid bro
I’d talk more shit about the Jazz if my team wasn’t the Timberwolves.
Rudy should go to the warriors next season.
I feel ya... Signed - Jazz Fan 😪
