- HOW MUCH POWER DOES THE LOW BUCK TRUCK CAM ADD? DOES IT WORK WELL WITH A TURBO? CAN I RUN THE STOCK CONVERTER? SHOULD I GO BIGGER? WILL IT MAKE 1000 HP? LET'S TALK TECH.
My son’s truck is a 04 short bed, regular cab Silverado. 4wd. Lowered, weld wheels on it. We just put a Huron speed kit on it with a 7875 t51r. Engine is all stock, 5.3. This is his daily. We are running 11psi right now. It’s unbelievable how good it runs and it drives like stock. Gets 18-19mpg. I’m considering putting an ls2 cam in it.

@@richardholdener1727 actually I have watched it and liked it but I went back again and watched it. Seems like for all around power gain the LS2 cam would be the best pick and I have a feeling I won’t have issues with valve float because I have double valve springs on there vs the weak beehives. Now I’m on the lookout for ls2 cam. Thanks
Hey Richard, I just wanted to let you know after I asked you a couple of weeks ago about jetting out my 750 brawler in my 355. You said to run a 70 and 77 jet respectively, man you were right on target! My pickup hasn’t run this good since I put the new in engine I built for it. In fact I loved how it ran so good I ordered a set of Brodix 180 aluminum heads in place of the S/R torquer heads. Thank you so much sir!

Ive seen only one other guy talk about using more balanced cams on turbos and this turbo information you speak of. He tunes Cadillacs (CTS V) and races them I believe I’ll have to look him up again but he made a comment about if a guy shows up at the strip with crazy chop on the caddy’s that they are slow. Turbo response is important and I appreciate the knowledge.
Hi Richard! As a thought, would you be interested in making a cam test where the timing remain un changed put the lift alter considerebly? How would this effect the power and torque outputs on stock heads and aftermarket heads. Conducting this you'd just need rockers with variety of ratios and a set of after market heads with a spring upgrade

I watched the video........... It seems that if one wishes more torque in a truck, low RPM, putting a small turbo on the stock engine is the way to go. Right? Nice video.... ; )

hello Richard can you help me with twin turbos. im looking to get1200hp flywheel my setup it is ls3 l33 ring gap .030 ss2 cam pac 1219 stock 799 heads and a tbss intake head stud kit holley terminator x and 220lbs inj . The twins im looking at is VSR gen2 66/73 billet .86ar dual v band will them work or do you have a better choice. its DD and track car
what is an LS3 L33? Otherwise the set will work fine-there are better choices than SS2 cam for a daily 5.3L
@@richardholdener1727 the Ls that come in the 05/06 chevy and gmc 1500 pickups. ok so the turbos size should then and i was thinking about changing the cam but from what i find for info about it seem to work well with im converter and springs and the tbss intake. also when i said DD it not really a DD it would be a nice day cruiser
