    This another one of those jobs that I'd like to do to my defender, but will probably never quite make it to the top of the to-do list 😆

    Discovery 2 didn’t use a speed sensor on the housing, it’s part of the transmission. In that case you’ll need to swap the rear output housing from the vehicle’s existing transfer case, which is exactly what I had to do for my swap to a D2 LT230Q

    I've got a 1993 5-speed manual Range Rover Classic with a non diff lock transfer box it goes into high and low ok but when I drive it round the corners the wheel scrub I think the diff lock is stuck how do I release it thanks Danny

      Sounds like the viscous coupling is buggered

    Great video, you used white Grease, why not use basic grease, could you do a video when to use lock tight on bolts and any differences from copper grease and other anti seize. I know putting ant seize effects torque setting. thanks.

      According to JP who repairs a lot of hydraulics, white grease is more 'slippy' for O rings

      @@BritannicaRestorations I think it is dangerous to classify chemicals by colour. I have white grease for Nylon and white grease for loose ball bearings with Teflon, Dont ever try to use the one for the other! Mikes "white grease" is probably the 5th kind-

    Where did this transfer box come from ? Your container or is it a customers?

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This was the exchange box that came out of the GM V6, I converted to 1:3 ratio (customer very happy by the way!)

      @@BritannicaRestorations ah gotcha. I must of missed that somewhere along the way. Thanks for the update, it’s good to hear he’s happy with the 1:3 ratio.

    I am going to fit a 1.2 LT230 to my tdi300 conversion, it has a 2.5 na, and a 1.6 LT230 now. Do you know if the gear drive for the speedo is the same regardless, and you just change the plastic part, or do you have to change the gear in the output section too?

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The gear drive should be the same as it is worked off the tyre diameter not the ratio

      Thanks Mike, you keep doing videos on jobs I have on the go! Brilliant.

      You may find the 1:2 a little over geared with a 300Tdi
