Delhi girls were level-headed and sure of themselves?? Were they? Both the Delhi girls couldn't stand the fact that Shalini is the center of the attention. Particularly Ridhima was so frustrated by the fact that the wives are only interested in Shalini she might have thought that being a Kapoor she would be the centerpiece of the new lot, so sad to see her hopes shattered as Shalini grabbed everyone's attention in the most nonchalant way. She deserves every iota of it and she knows it.

I was an engineering student and as a woman, I was ALWAYS the subject of public gaze no matter where I went. It became such a habit to be starred at all the time that when I walked on Mumbai roads for the first time, it was a complete culture shock for me. It took time to digest that people are NOT looking at me. They don't care what I dress like and where I am headed. What a relief!

As someone from Delhi, I always admired the cool, laid-back attitude of people in Bombay and dreamt of living there. Now that I live in the U.S., I’ve come to realize that whether you're in Delhi, Bombay, or anywhere else in the world, people are essentially the same. Everyone has insecurities, dreams, and grudges-nobody deserves extra points just because of where they’re from.
Watching Season 3 of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives on Netflix was especially interesting for me because Shalini was actually my batch-mate. We weren't friends, just exchanged the occasional "hi" if we made eye contact. After watching the show, I wish I’d gotten to know her better back then. She was an absolute star, standing out for not giving in to the cattiness and discrimination often seen in the show. While she may be eccentric, she carries it with humility rather than arrogance. Kudos to Shalini!
My next favorite on the show was Seema, who also brought a lot of personality and fun to the series.

I really like Shalini and how unproblematic she's. Her character should be inspirational to a lot Indian women with jealousy issues. I as a woman who doesn't have role models like men do (for example - Salman Khan or Elon Musk) I get to learn a lot about women's psychology and decide what's the best for me from these reality tv shows which explores the women's World. Is it realistic? No, still it's pretty interesting.

One should know where to draw the line, and that’s the only way one can learn about women's psychology without experience stuff themselves.

I have watched this show and felt Shalini was the only genuine, grounded character/person who is an introvert and wanna be extrovert while constantly trying to fit in the group just so that she wouldn’t be treated differently. She almost shows her vulnerable side even while she takes a cold room to prepare herself.
Shalini was so much more mature than any other person, as she only cared about the things that matter to her self and not anyone else while also making sure her actions doesn’t disturb others, which is real good example of how u can live happily while everyone around you is just struggling to understand. except while she was drunk. She literally reminded us of an art piece trying to educate while looking flooded with too many strokes.
If i am not wrong, the whole purpose she agreed to be on this show would have been to make herself realise that she is a lot more than just being an art piece in a museum.
I don’t think even the whole budget of the show would have come close to one of the paintings hung in the room which was used to practice singing.

She is privileged and she knows it so she enjoys her life rather than begging for sympathy and making her life look hard. Not even once in the show she said anything that oh my life is hard that god I have to do so much and earn … if I were andha rich then I would definitely wanted to live like her . And the best thing is she is her own person which all four of the wives could not digest specifically Neelam , they could not believe that how a woman can be so sure of herself ❤ I loved Shalini and then I liked Seema , both were great on the show and both showed in all this show shaa a little bit of decent humanity ❤ and I need more Shalini content 😂

Edit: some Marathis are literally pissed off bcoz of this truth & are stooping so low to abuses, i guess that's how they snatched Mumbai from gujrat too. Then killed Surat to artificially raise Mumbai, with the help of Central government Marathi leaders of congress.
At this point, Marathis are no different than goons!!
I guess thieves always an upset being called a thief, is true
Btw 🤣 none of Marathis could clarify, why there was huge tussle between gujrat & Maharashtra over Mumbai. It's still a fact Marathis are themselves outsiders to Mumbai natives. You can use lots of abuses, but you could never deny things

In general, I tend to steer clear of reality television but this series is somehow one I can't ignore :p The showrunners and participants seem quite self-aware of the stupidity and delulu-ness of it all. And at the end of a long day at work somehow, this is all my brain can take to unwind, so in that sense this show has really the nail on the head. What I find particularly interesting though is how open and vulnerable the fabulous wives seem to be with their own consistently fallible and hollow conversations and showing it off to the world. I do get that they are playing off scripts at the end of the day, but it still requires an incredible amount of courage to bare yourselves in this manner and I find that oddly commendable. In a world where everyone is only willing to show the very best version of themselves, they have chosen to be honest in the guise of disingenuousness. More than anything else perhaps, watching these series teach you a lot about your own limits...what you cringe at and what you accept says a lot more about you than the people on the screen.

I had recently moved from Mumbai to bangalore. I just generally believed in the safety of crowds. In bangalore a random, drunk and homeless looking man started to follow me on the street at 7 pm in the evening. I crossed the street and told the man standing outside a shop that this random man was following me. He said why do you have some history with him. I am a regular girl, was a new MBA grad and was just walking home. I suddenly felt so terrified and unsafe even though it was just 7 pm with so many people around me.
A bus was passing by i was luckily able to stop it and jump onto an almost moving bus and get away from there.

I can comfortably move around in local train or public transportation without men staring at me. I received so much help from so many unknown people. I remember, I was standing to take a cab during day time and was sweating so much, the cab drivers were all around me, a mid age lady came and asked me politely if I needed anything or if I was okay. That was so genuine, I felt happy that day.
Of course also what I felt, is the isolation from my root and myself during that staying. Mostly because of my flatmates.

As you rightly mentioned, at times, people want to watch something with a sheer intention of getting entertained and this show offers it all.
I loved the show and yes my fav earlier was Maheep but this time it has to be Ms. Paasi.
More than the show, I liked your review as most of the reviewers/critics would go praises about all "Not so Great Looking" things and people as Great Acting/Great Show and completely dismiss opulence and beauty quoting its limited potency (and completely being unaware of their own limited viewpoint).
I am not a big Sonam fan but I definitely relate to one of her comments on KWK - "As per critics all good looking people are bad actors and vica verca" - today, on the other hand, its refreshing to hear from you that opulence and beauty and extravagance could be super entertaining and need not be a "guilty-watch"

Disagree on Fab Cafe, to be perfectly honest. I absolutely loved the place and the experiences I had there. Whether or not you liked Sunder Nursery largely depends on the weather. Winter or autumn would be more ideal. To each their own, I guess. :)

Anmol it's amazing how you find meaning/silver lining even in trash reality tv, I find it absolutely commendable that you give so much respect to every kind of content. Please keep doing whatever you do!! 😊

You couldn't have done a better through analysis of this show. As much as we bitch about this show it is our guilty pleasure for mindless and that is fine as I wont complain. I do agree that delhi chicks because they are over the top were something that mumbai chicks couldnt digest but just learn to accept things as it is and not complain. If anything the girls were very hospitable. And you are on point, shalini was really sweet and never cursed or bitched about anyone. She has lots of self love and that's also something you can admire about as she seems quite secure in her life.

I'm an astrologer and let me tell you, most people who are crazy rich and successful DO go to astrologers in the first place, especially Politicians and Celebrities, as without occult it's not possible to get this much amount of fame and wealth. That is why they are all surrounded by all these people, and these might not be the actual astrologers/occult people they really go to. They are not only afraid of losing all this, but they know fairly well what worked for them and their families in the first place. Take the example of Celebrities who changed the names of their films, or changed their own name/spelling.

And about the authenticity of Occult science, it is there, it is powerful and works. It's part of our religion itself. The thing is, the astrologer might not be good at what he/she does and try to fake it mostly in order to gain money.

Astrology doesn't work, I know it I have studied and practiced for last 15 years. Different people different fear, different astrologers for everyone of them. And every Astrologer is guessing at best...

On the contrary, Sir/Lady, you may not have done it the right way.
I assure you, under right conditions, the study and practice of the science of Astrology can turn out to be greatly beneficial for the future.

@@sarthakdasthapa Lady, you should First get your Ayanamsa right then speak about charts. The calculation is all over the place then how can your charts show right planet placements.
Girl, I eat astrologers for breakfast, don't even get me started..
Every Astrologer out there is feeding on fear of people. Trying to predict future, bs. Astrologers are such losers, they don't have any ethics..
Now, go back play with your planets girl.

Belonging from jaipur the first time I headed to Mumbai was when I got admission in IITB.. a city with huge towers, a great night life, I was astonished that I can walk spirit free wearing extremely short dresses at 3 am in night. We girls used to go to marine drive at late nights, and it was so good to see the police everywhere. Mumbai is jaan to me, not because of glamorous lives but yes the people...❤

Shalini undoubtedly OWNED👑the S3. She looked like 🤡 in trailer but flawlessly embodied her multi-dimensional personality, balancing wealth, art, causes, and❤for her grounded husband. Compare to blabbermouth bollywood wives, they are hollow😶

You have beautifully summarised every point I felt. I have moved from Delhi to Mumbai last year and I see the contrast very clearly. People in both cities are very different and unique in their own ways
