Gladiator 2 is a direct sequel to the 2000 blockbuster Gladiator. The film is directed by the same legendary director Ridley Scott, starring Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielsen and Denzel Washington.
The films shows how Lucius, the son of Maximus, fulfills Aurelius' dream of Rome, for which his father died trying.
The film is a good 2nd outing and does live up to the hype, it picks upon part 1 and tries to build it's own path. The incredible action set pieces and ancient Rome city is where the beauty of this film lies. Technically, it is a masterpiece in every way. A few pacing issues in the 3rd act and lack of a powerful climax is what holds back the film from becoming another masterpiece from the great Ridley Scott. Nonetheless, it is a decent watch with lot of things to enjoy.
