@@adamconnollyflyfishing oh i have a whole wood of one handers up to 11'3 12 weight so i know what they are. Just saying i dont find much use for 1 handers for salmon anymore:) Unless tiny rivers/creeks with a 5 weight for small salmon up to maybe 8 pounds.
What weight fly rod and what reel and rod is that I’m just wondering because I’m trying to get in to fly fishing at 14 so when I’m older I’ll have a lot of experience
@@NdnsnsnsbsnshBsbshah hi Henry great questions. For this smaller pool fishing I use a 9 foot scierra 6wt fly rod. The reel is an airflo loaded with probably too heavy a line for this setup but it gets the job done. Line is a Rio outbound short head. Good luck with the fishing 🎣
@@NdnsnsnsbsnshBsbshah an all rounder a 6wt would be too small. Depends on the rivers you will fish and the conditions you see. You can see across my videos I’ll choose between at least 4 different rods dependent on where I am and conditions. An 8wt rod may be your best all rounder in this case.
@@rangerwhite5165 it is. It’s the same every year I’ve seen. We didn’t get water to wash the fish into the bay this year. The fish arrive with the disease. They are also never strong enough to reach the redds hence the mass kill close to estuary
@ no fish should be impeded and they certainly haven’t been past years. What is certain, they don’t have the energy to traverse up out of town hence they don’t gets to redds.
@@kevinhoutz362 Hi Kevin! Great meeting you all as well! The rain came and the fishing improved immeasurably! River rose about 2 feet while we were in it and the fishing was electric! Great fun fishing with you guys!!
We were hoping for the rain it just never came while we were there. For a lot of our group visiting with you guys was a great addition to the trip. My brother in law and I are considering going back next year, but not sure.
I believe that is the latest the fish have come in so we will definantly be back next year hope to meet you Jeremy Steve Shane and the guys on the river again!
I never use 1 handers anymore, in my opinion the new superlight 2 handers does a much better job but personal preferense is real:)

@ would a 6 wt be too small for Atlantic salmon And springers ? For rivers only and sea trout because I’m planning on buying one for Christmas

Is that Ballisodaire? Shame about the massive fish kill. Hope it doesn't knacker future runs and enough made it to the redds.
