Great interview! Had the opportunity to hear Olafsson's performance of the Goldberg Variations in Boston and it is one of the great musical experiences I have ever had. By the time he got to playing the final aria I was so overcome with emotion that I could barely breath. He of course got a standing ovation and as I am clapping I was also hoping that he would not play an encore. I just thought it was just perfectly perfect as it was. Olaffson came out took a bow and announced that there can't be an encore after you have played the greatest keyboard composition ever. I could not agree more!

Yeah Helmut Walcha along with Tatiana Nikolayeva, Zhu Xiao-Mei, Gustav Leonhardt are my personal favorite Bach players.
