To buy the small electric engine used in the video:www.olx.com.pk/item/1016703899
In this video we are going to built a small electric generator using a gasoline engine.
This generator is powered by a 36cc Four Stroke Engine. For the generator we are going to extract the permanent magnet brushless hub motor from an old hoverboard.
The motor is altered to work as a generator for which we are going to attach a 55 teeth spocket to the hub motor. Next we have removed the hall sensors which are of no use in our case.
The engine is attached to the motor through a centrifugal clutch. This allows us to engage the engine to rotate the motor when we increase the speed of the engine.
The frame of the generator is made using 1 inch square metal tubing and 3mm thick metal sheet.
Since our hub motor produces a three phase alternating current so to make it more useful what we are going to do is to design and built a three phase rectifier circuit which allows us to convert three phase AC into DC output.
The schematic, gerber files and the list of components for the rectifier circuit is avlaible here:

Cheers for this, I have been researching "making an electric generator with magnets" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Pansaiah Renowned Preeminence - (search on google ) ? It is a smashing one off product for discovering how to create an efficient homemade generator without the headache. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my m8 got cool success with it.

Thank you for showing us this project, I've been trying to figure out how to make a very small, fuel sipping generator to charge my solar batteries after a week of cloudy weather. I can't seem to find a commercially made one.
You can use a 3 phase voltage regulator from any motorcycle for a regulated twelve volts DC.
If you remove the clutch, you might be able to have an electric start with a 3 phase motor controller too.

this is pretty damn cool. i got a small harbor frieght predator engine and used an old car alternator which fed a led acid battery bank and a power inverter. was a crude setup but it worked well for keeping some critical appliances running when the power was out. woking on a smaller more refined setup with a better engine+alternator setup and lifepo4 batteries. (for on the go power just get something like the jackery units and have a generator recharge that if you need to)

Hi. Good job. you can increase the output voltage by substituting the pulleys, the big pulley on the engine shaft and the smaller one on the electric generator.

First of all you should remove the clutch in engine and direct propel the generator and use a governor (speed controller) i.e over loading..it increase speed automatic and stable the power...and fuel efficiency tooo.....

  • @nitroboom1282
    @nitroboom1282 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You need a governor to regulate the speed the gas engine because as the load increases he resistance of of the generator makes it harder to turn o the speed of the engine drops so in real generators they use a mechanical governor to increase rpm to compensate for the load

"Video request". Free energy for the whole house. Need 200 amps ac. Thought of using 1800 volt dc motors with about 4300-4500 rpms. Getting vehicle altinators like a firetrucks high amp output at low rpms at idle speed and 4 12 volt car batteries. Use 2-3 dc motors turning 3-4 of the altinators. Have one altinator feeding the 4 batteries and keeping them charged. Convert the other 3 altinators to ac output and putting a power box like for a outdoor genirator to plug into your house to where you could disconnect your main breaker on your house and feed your new power source into your breaker box. Please give me some ideas to help make it a reality.

Have you tried to spin one of the bldc motors, just shorting 2wires, its nearly impossible to spin by hand, short all 3. And it's basically impossible. It would likely not have the power to spin it with such a overdrive , 750 watts is basically 1hp, with losses , it will take 2-3+ hp to spin this at full power!

I am using heavy duty, Delco alternators, with custom regulation, using 150 amp modified alternators, the Delco 22si alternators are used in industrial trucks, I have several, and using one on a 6hp engine, it should output atleast 130-150 amps at 28-29.4vdc, I'm also thinking about putting one on my riding lawnmower, so it can be used in emergency to add to the emergency charging capability, using a DC generator to charge, insted of a ac generator can be more efficient, over a HV AC generator, then converted to useable DC voltage , more losses, the alternator can run at any RPM, is another plus, it can be tuned to charge at nearly any RPM. I also have a possible steam engine generator , to be powered by a small boiler on a wood stove, off grid require many means of power generation and storage!

A circuit board is really not necessary, just get a 3 phase rectifier monoblock which has the 6 diodes wired correctly internally and add an electrolytic capacitor for smoothing if needed, that has the benefit of being able to be screwed to a heat sink, which you will need, if you intend to run hundreds of watts through it. The led with resistor is also optional. There is really nothing to it, other than it looks cool with a pro made PCB.
