@@bbgun061 well, Manaus is South from where you live, but its ~barely~ the southern hemisphere! It's basically the equator which is warm all year round. Part of South America is actually in the northern hemisphere. But the more you go south in the southern hemisphere is comparable to the more you go north in the northern hemisphere, with seasons switched. When the north gets summer, the south gets winter. When the south gets summer, the north gets winter.

When my wife and I took our kids and grandkids to Tennessee to see the eclipse a couple years ago, it ended up being one of the great bonding moments of our lives. She and one of our granddaughters were just crying during the full eclipse. Amazing moment. The kids all talk about it even today.
This was some of your best work. My first and only eclipse (so far) was 2017 in Nebraska. When you showed the Bailey's Beads on the way to totality, i was overcome with emotion, recalling that moment. Experiencing a total eclipse truly does change you. Again, thanks for sharing this moment.
Such a beautiful video! Not just the eclipse. The relationship you both have! This video actually brought a tear or two. Breathtaking! I’m so happy for you both.
When the app was counting down I got goosebumps and it brought me back to the eclipse that I watched in Wyoming! From that moment in Wyoming a few years ago I realized why ancient cultures worshiped the sun. Wish I was down there for the latest eclipse!
I think everybody should have the experience of seeing a total solar eclipse at least once in their lives if at all possible. Partial solar, and total lunar eclipses are great, but a total sola eclipse is overwhelming. You immediately understand how it terrified the ancients, even understanding exactly what is going on. And the rapidity with which the ambient light changes in the minutes before totality has a physical effect that is hard to quantify, but that you see in all the animals around and feel in yourself. I watched one from Virginia Beach in 1970, and it still is vivid in my memory. You are SO lucky to have done this!
Loved seeing your quote of James 1:17 "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."

This video brings me so much joy! I've never been to Argentina, but my wife and I visited Uruguay not long after we got married. I love seeing your adventures together! Y'all are absolutely adorable!
Being born and raised 30 mins south of Huntsville, I am so proud to have you as a representative of my home state. You and your wife are phenomenal human beings. I can truly see that you two are soul mates. Destin I don’t know you and will never meet you but I am proud of the person you are and the life you provide for your family. Absolutely incredible character and passion for knowledge.
Feels so good to see you in my country man! Keep coming please. The best thing is to see you both so happy enjoying each other. Congratulations man, you inspire us in so many ways.
I hope that the chemistry between you and your wife always stay as great as possible.
Loved your video as always. ❤😊
"Observe Planets and Stars" notification plays. Dustin takes the moment to kiss his wife instead. I think he has the right priorities.
My wife and I love you guys... we could hang with you both for hours. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful moment.
Dude, I absolutely love your channel and I'm from Mendoza, I'm so happy you came down and checked out this part of the world. Keep on getting smarter everyday, we are all in for the joirney with you. Thank you, cheers man!!!
Glad to see another husband and wife enjoying adventuring together. Keep up the good work! Really enjoyed this video. Makes we want to do this with my wife now.
Not gonna lie, got goosebumps just from watching the eclipse from your video.
What a wonderful event. Thanks Mrs. and Mr. Tara ♥
My day is made whenever a Smarter Every Day video is posted.
Also, they relationship is solid. Really cool to see couples like that.
TH-cam might be in a rough spot. But watching all these channels I have watched for so many years grow and change is just so rewarding. Fills with me with joy.
Another great video Destin!
Oh man I can not wait til your video from todays Eclipse!!
I just found your channel this summer on vacation, during the last 5 weeks, i may have gotten smarter everyday, but moreover I have come to love your view of the world. I only know you by what you present but i feel as if your love of science, relationships, faith and family is a nice story to be in. I wish you and your family the best!
One of the most emotional video I have ever seen by your side, keep it up!
"Colder than expected" 😅 winter in southern hemisphere when summer in northern hemisphere!! C'mon Smarter Every Day 😅
I was in San Juan also with my family. I told them at least 3 times "it's winter down here, pack WARM!" Also, we got a cold wave for a week around the eclipse time.
I also went to the Southern hemisphere this summer, but it was hot...
-3° latitude in Manaus...
@@bbgun061 -3° is quite near the equator, the average daily temperature stays almost the same throughout the year.

I just can’t wrap my head around how beautiful these solar eclipse are
If you ever have a chance to go see one, do it. No matter what, just go. Best experience of my life
Because it is extremely rare occurrence that's why.
Also Modern day Humans like us Found it very Beautiful but to people who live thousand years ago before us this is a calamity or doom. Finding This Eclipse pretty is an infant thing to Humans. As late as 50 years ago local tribes feared this events.
@@lossantoscity3249 Knowing the sun hasn't gone away for good, takes away the Fear & foreboding thoughts I'm sure. When I saw the sun starting to come back out, I was a little bummed. It's like an exciting experience that doesn't last very long. I had heard most people's thoughts after a total Eclipse are "when's the next one". It's true, 2024 can't come quick enough!!!
1:11 Never knew Destin was a Ginger , look at his red beard. 😜😜😜
I drove my family into totality because of your video on the American eclipse. It was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Thank you!
This might be my favorite smarter every day video ever. I loved the editing, the footage, but most of all, the love you and your wife share! I immediately want to go on another adventure with my wife! Thank you for everything you, Tara, and your family do spreading science, learning, adventure, and a love for our world!!
Oh man, I'm so happy you came to my country and filmed the eclipse in San Juan! I couldn't travel and saw the partial from Buenos Aires, but now I can watch it in all its glory thanks to you!!
I hope you had a nice stay in Argentina :)
Hey man .. what a nice video! 🌘
Thanks for coming to Argentina🇦🇷
We greatly appreciate your videos.
Really great work💪

Totalmente, pensé lo mismo!
How cool would that be?
"Gracias, Señiorr" le podríamos haber servido de traductores, algunos!
Y qué bueno que no soy el único argentino mirando esto!
December 21 2020 Total solar eclipse at Argentinian and Chilean South territories
I love watching you and your wife together. Reminds me of how goofy my wife and I are together. Thanks for the awesome vids. It’s inspiring.
I can't believe you came to my country. Hope you enjoyed your stay, greetings from Argentina
Fantastic video Destin. I really like the chemistry between you and your wife. You got something special there man! Never forget it!
*date goals: Destin you have achieved them*
I prefer women but I will give him a chance.
Dude I fr wanna say thanks for the videos you make. They make my day
I think everybody should have the experience of seeing a total solar eclipse at least once in their lives if at all possible.
Thank God for people like you and your wife. You make the world a better place.
Thank you SO much for this footage. What a unique eclipse with it setting behind the Andes and the moon escaping. Never seen that before.
Best video yet, you should bring your second half along more often.. Thanks for all your work. My kids love it.
Watching this feels like the best time to be alive here on Earth.
Loved seeing your quote of James 1:17
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."
Hands down, the best channel on TH-cam!! I've had years of enjoyment, surprises, learning, and fun watching every episode. Thanks, Destin, and all the best to you and yours!

My favorite video since I've started watching you. Not only do I love solar eclipses but I really appreciated the interaction between you and your wife. Very sweet.
I once witnessed a solar eclipse here in switzerland but I didn't get those special glasses to look up in the sun. It was a great experience anyway.
Great video Destin, keep up the great work!

Seeing you able to share this experience with your wife made me want to support your channel, science is good but life is more than science. I love Smarter Every Day!!!
Hi Destin. Your videos helped me prepare for the 2017 eclipse and onward to this 2019 eclipse. We traveled to a small city in Chile called Vicuña and had an amazing experience. We are now looking forward to 2020. Haven’t decided wether we are going to Chile or Argentina but it will definitely be another adventure. Thank you for all your work on producing these videos, it helps many of us stay conscious of how we are part of this creation.
