To be.. or NOT to be! THAT is the question that plagues all ant kind!. . . BUT!. . since we cant answer that question yet... then we'll just have to keep the skulls of our fallen as a souvenir until we can think of something... in the mean time, these skulls shall serve as inspiration!(lmao)
@@TheDeepThinker-sq3iy how is keeping a skull collection "sophisticated" lol? That sarcasm was just cringey. It's literally the easiest thing you can do. Besides imagery with heads is very prevalent among insects, for example caterpillars stacking past molts of their heads and wearing them as a hat to appear larger and more intimidating, hornets massacring bee hives to move into and leaving only the heads outside to ward off reclaiming bees with the smell of death, etc. That aside, ants understand death much better than any insect, the colonies have dedicated undertakers who distance themselves from the rest of the colony because they know death can be caused by disease, tbh if 2020 was any indication they understand death and epidemiology far better than most Americans do lol.
@@atrumluminarium That's what am TALKING about by sophisticated! and no... its not just collecting skulls that I was aiming at for the reason why I thought it was sophisticated. I just meant.... its sophisticated because they would UNDERSTAND AND HAVE some sort of meaning behind collecting skulls to a level PROBABLY comparable to a fricking cave man.
And then there's all of the other things you just brought up. they seem to understand death very well... like we do. . seems like we've got planet of the apes figured all wrong. its probably going to be planet of the ants(or maybe the list of those other insects you just mentioned)real soon. . .
@@TheDeepThinker-sq3iy they are hive minds, or scientifically eusocial insects. Multicellular organisms hence the name, are made of many different cells, so in distant times those cells were independent organisms but later evolved to create colonies, and then the whole multicellular organisms. Now enhance the scale, instead of little cells, imagine a creature that is part of the bigger organism. There is no leader in ant colony, they all participate in eusocial cognitive work, the queen is just a title given by humans, in reality it's just a reproductive "organ".
@@TheDeepThinker-sq3iy what he says is true. The reason why ants appear smart is because they arent separate minds. We have "smart humans" because each humans thinks differently than another. But having a dumb or smart ant isn't an issue in colonies since they are just instructed to do the most logical and intelligent decisions. I believe there is a word for it "emergence"? (That could very well be wrong.)
Ants are more intelligent than we give them credit for.
