Had some leaks with this type of box. The design is pretty poor. It's great practice to prefill the gasket first and then add your bead of geo around the box after. Also learned to cut out the architectural part of the shingle so that the gasketed portion sits completely flat on shingle course. Soladecks seem to be the way to go with pv junction box systems.
