- On a road trip home from Florida, we stopped at a travel destination we have always wanted to experience… Charleston, South Carolina. We only had one day to take in a sample of what this beautiful city has to offer. To be clear, one day is not nearly enough. But we picked a few attractions that sounded particularly interesting to us and made a day of it. In this video, you will join us as we tour the city by bus and by horse and carriage. Then we visit historical sites including a dungeon and a plantation. We had a great day and fit in as much as we could. But we still missed seeing Fort Sumter, visiting the beaches of the area, and experiencing the highly regarded culinary scene of Charleston. So all that will be saved for our next visit. In the meantime, join us as we make the most out of our one day in Charleston!

Those Victorian Homes are stunning. The Custom is beautiful. The British have a lot to answer for back in that period of The British Empire and their harsh punishments. Thank goodness we have come along way. Loved The Plantation House. We were lucky to visit a Plantation House when we were in New Orleans in 1997. The Horse tour would have been awesome. This place feels like you have gone back in time, it's so quaint! The market looks like somewhere I would spend some time! This bus tour got you to so many places! They should do a haunted tour of the dungeon! The Drayton plantation is huge, the details are incredible! You did get some haunted stories! What a great day!
It was such a great day. And we really only scratched the surface. There is a lot more to see and do in the area. The history is fascinating. It really is like going back in time. Hi guys, Charleston looked great with the 90 min informative bus tour, loved the historic houses and seeing the beautiful architecture on the journey. Great how they call it the holy city because of all of the churches:) The sea area where where the civil war began looked so nice and I love how they had the giant gold ring displayed. Inter to see the dungeon where the people were kept captive , so creepy ! The plantation also looked good to visit and it's great that they are excavating it and have some interesting finds and then to end the day on that horse and carriage at night must have been so lovely when if you didn't see any ghosts ! Charleston has always been on our list of places to visit, sadly we just haven’t made it there yet. Wow comparing the size of the plantation to Disney World really puts it into perspective! I can’t imagine sitting in a privy with 6 other people, yikes! 😂 the carriage tour looks lovely, that sounds right up our alley. Thanks so much for bringing us along!

It was a great way to get our bearings and see a lot of the city and learn about it from an expert. The horse and carriage tour is also a great way to get acquainted with Charleston.

Enjoyed your visit to Charleston, Jack and Alice. As you mention not nearly long enough but you made the most of it. We love taking a bus or trolley tour first thing in a new city. Great overview too for those short on time or seeing where you want to go if you have a longer stay. Love the old architecture! Well except for a dungeon, but it was still fun to see. Loved the plantation tour and carriage ride! We never see any ghost's either! Thanks for bringing us along.

Hey friends, we've visited Charleston once & Loved the Southern Charm, even though we didn't get to see as much as we wanted to. We really need to take a trip back, especially since it's Super close to our home!
All of the old buildings and the fort look really cool! I also liked the big marketplace. That looks like a great place to get some unique gifts! The carriage ride seemed like a lot of fun too.
My oldest son visited Charleston with his dad's family for his uncle's graduation from the Citadel. I've never been. Looks great for history buffs.

bus tours are always a great idea if you don't know the area. I love old historic building! So cool to go through and learn the history. I did the hours and buggy ride in New Orleans and it was great. Thanks for showing us around!

One of my favorite cities! If you are in the area again, The Center for Birds of Prey is just north of Charleston and really cool.

I've always though Charleston South Carolina would be an incredible trip. They really know how to cater to tourists and the southern hospitality is great. The audio at the beginning sounded like the mic got covered?
Yeah, we didn’t notice until it was posted that the audio got messed up early on. The microphone we usually use stopped working so we are trying out new options and this one we used was very sensitive, apparently. Charleston, South Carolina is such a beautiful city. I'd love to go to the market. Love bus tours. You get a good lay of the land; especially since you only had one day. The city is just so gorgeous. So much to see and do. It's on my list of cities to see, but I don't know where it falls on Bill's list. 😂😂. A dungeon-crazy. So much history packed into a one day visit. Nice. The haunted carriage tour looked like a fun experience. Galveston rates somewhere in that list of most haunted cities. 😂
