Fishpro JetSki Dead Battery Trip

  • My FishPro jetski had battery issues out on a dive recently. Turned out to be a blown fuse for the stator “Charge” fuse no. 6, 30A. Still unsure what caused this...
Wasn’t a great experience on the water. Should have thought to check the fuses, but I’m used to car battery issues - if the alternator dies, it’s not a fuse that will fix it. All ended up fine, but a little tense for a bit.
Still, this is probably one of my more boring videos, but I wanted to store it here on my channel as I’ll enjoy laughing at it later. Also, someone might find this helpful, or amusing :)

Great video...the stress and anxiety was palpable...... for me it has reinforced the necessity to have a jump starter

Does the seadoo fish pro not have a generator or alternator to recharge the battery while the engine is running?

Yes, that was the problem. Turned out it was a blown fuse for the stator. I didn't think to look, made the mistake of thinking of it like a car alternator that doesn't have a fuse (?) either works or doesn't. Lesson learned :)

Love your videos, how do you track your passage, is that an app or do u just video the gps? I would love to do that!

Thanks mate :) I use the Relive app on iPhone. You can export a video from the app, then i bring it into Adobe Premiere and crop into the top corner. Bit of fiddling but not too tricky :)

Thanks Orlando. A 2nd would be good, but i still want to have the jump starter. In my experience, a battery issue ends up affecting all batteries, so an isolated backup is su
      per important.

That's a great idea. I will have to look into this for my FishPro.

I got mine from Battery World, doesn't need to be a big one for JetSki, but best to speak with the guys in the shop. I got a large one so i can also use for my car on camping trips :)
