    I did a search on how to dehydrate zucchini and summer squash and clicked on you. I’m so glad I did you are very practical and to the point and I have done enough dehydrating and canning to know that you were right on so thanks for having a TH-cam channel I just subscribed.

    I really appreciate you showing us the cooking portion, as well. I'm swimming in summer squash over here, and am out of freezer space. The squash au gratin looks so great, am going to steal the recipe!

    Now I know what I'll do with our surplus squash.. thank you!!
    P.S. I assume this works with okra too.. Fried squash and/or okra during the winter used to be just a dream of mine 😆..
    If I could figure out how to have a fresh tomato or cucumber with it I'd be in heaven lol..
    Looking forward to February meals 😉

    The creole seasoning is pronounced “chas-ah-ree” more or less. I died laughing when you said it lol. But if you’re not from South Louisiana, you don’t know. Loved your video!!

    They look so good - dehydrating mine as I type. Would you tell me what kind of dip you were using or would suggest, please?

    Have you ever dehydrated squash and ground into powder for the base of soups? I was thinking about trying that and wondering if it could be done or if it would be worth it.
    Love your mixer! I have the same one! Great video by the way!! The food looks delicious!!😊

    • @designsbyJ

      I have not. But I bet that would be good as a soup base!👍🏻

    What texture should zucchini be when you take it out to rehydrate it? Mine doesn’t have mold on it but, it doesn’t snap in half now that I opened it.

    Can I use squash in place of zucchini for the Lemon Zucchini Bread???

    • @designsbyJ
      @designsbyJ  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess you could try. To me they have two distinctly different tastes and texture. Yellow squash has bigger seeds and gets watery when cooked.

    Plz tell me the weight of 2 cups dehydrated zucchini. So I can weigh it out then rehydrate it. Thank you. 😀

    • @designsbyJ
      @designsbyJ  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Willowdean Vannette, well, that’s what I showed in the video. Two cups of fresh shredded zucchini is a half a cup of dried. 👍🏻

      You can weigh the 2 cups after they are dehydrated, so you have an accurate weight, instead of using cups to measure. I don't think weighing it will really matter, because I don't think it'll need that type of precision.

    Why are my dehydrated summer squash brown and they leave the rehydration water brown?

    Can the lids be reused?

    • @designsbyJ
      @designsbyJ  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mary Smith, yes, because they don’t permanently indent like they do in canning.

    This would be so much better minus the music. I'm going to give it my best shot and see how long I can make it.
