The Celtic Grace Jones. One of the most unsung artists of the last 30 years. I have been mesmerised by your performances since the 90s. Keep the flame alive Ms. Murphy. We don't have many real divas left.
The other reference here is the obscure and legendary Parco commercial starring Faye Dunaway and styled by genius Eiko Ishioka. Someone commented here that Roisin Murphy is so next level. I cannot help but agree. Music video of the year. This gives me LIFE!
I have said this already but I will never stop feeling fascinated AF with this album and all this Bergman & Cassavetes references in your videos... Roisin my Queen, We are truly not worthy!
Ricardo Monteiro I thought that ten years ago mate. I also thought Lisa Stansfield would have played her well back then.... Why does the Dusty movie keep getting stalled ? Just as well if they aren't gonna do it right i guess.
+ted norton I've been a fan of Roisin Murphy ever since the Moloko days but honestly the idea of her playing Dusty never crossed my mind until I saw this video… You see, it's very very hard to find someone who could properly fill Dusty Springfield's shoes and that should be the reason why the movie project hasn't been advancing. And I agree Lisa Stansfield could have done a pretty decent job - she's had some acting experience, after all - but it's certainly too late for her now. At the moment I just can't think of anyone but Roisin for the task. And this should be the right time. :)
the movie has to be set at the time of the Longing album. I'm sure of that, it gives Ro the right age bracket for the bulk of performance and even that is stretching her age a bit low.
Can't wait to see her live in May :) She is FAB! Everything she does is brilliant! She is different to everybody else and takes risks with her music and her looks and I'm loving her new haircut :) It's sad she doesn't get more recognition in the UK and it annoys me that everyone goes on about Lady GaGa, yet Roisin was here before and does it much better!!! x
Love this babe since Moloko but fell hard in love when I saw you know me better video & overpowered era! Then ruby blue. Her mind & creativity is unmatched. Does anyone remember when lady gaga was up & coming, she stated our Róis as an inspiratio? Then boom gaga was avant garde in her next era. Just got to show her quiet influence. Really proud of her & look up to her a lot.
I hope she gets to read this. I absolutely understand what she's communucating in this video and it's just...she never disappoints! Im really looking forward to what's to come with this album and the aesthetic so far tells me it's in stride with my current point in my journey- a great companion. Thank you Roisin!
Wow... there is such great 70's imagery in this clip but Roisin has nailed the glamour of 80's chic too. Such an atmospheric song, an incredible introduction to her new album.
Thats is an incredible piece of work Róisín. Musically and visually a cut above ALL the rest! Fair play to you and deepest respect from the ole sod (Tipperary).
Love the guitar on this track. Can't wait to hear the new album.

a) Who produced this MONSTER tune!? This is just brilliant piece of advanced pop music. b) Can we get like - club version and at least 3 remixes in similar vein to choose from... soon. (The one by A.Fitzpatrick is just too rough for me...)
It’s also reminiscent of DJ Sprinkles, the album “Midtown 120 Blues.” Róisín Murphy mentioned that album as reference on the new songs, this one in particular, and perhaps on House of Glass, too.

Somehow that sounds better than "Grace Jones Of Irish Republic"
She truly is! “Hairless Toys” was such a masterpiece and my personal favorite album/era
What a masterpiece!
"The Celtic Grace Jones" uhhhhhhh no.
@@rickdeckard1075 Yes hunty
the lyrics are so mature, and dark, and yet it's funky. She's done it again. Fantastic music.
"Never underestimate creative people and the depths that they will go." true artist!
In contemporary pop music- Everyone else is just an imitation. Roison is an artist.
yeeeeea
couldnt agree more!
I feel like Roisin could have been a great actress based on this video. Phenomenal voice.
She is a great actress and a great musician in our truly modern art form of the music video
SHE'S A DOMINATRIX OF MUSIC, SHE RULES.
When those guitars come in at around 2:56 I could honestly melt. What a tune!
yes, but I much prefer the album version (having only heard this edit for the first time just now, after being curious about the video)
This video is hilarious I love Roisin, you can always rely on her to shake things up, it's disgusting how underrated she is

Roisin for Acedemy Awards, Grammy and Queen at the same time!
It almost sounds like Portishead. She is clearly underrated.
Keep the ball rollin' Róisín !
I have said this already but I will never stop feeling fascinated AF with this album and all this Bergman & Cassavetes references in your videos... Roisin my Queen, We are truly not worthy!
Yesssss she's back!!!! She is soooo freaking underrated but awesome!!! I love her :D
This video is pure brilliance, the best I've seen in years. The whole neurotic, fading actress thing is perfect
First time I've heard or seen Róisín Murphy.... this is erious... I love it.
This is definately her style. She has not lost her edge.
it actually a bit nauseating, like my inner ear wants to throw up ... a fiasco.
@@rickdeckard1075 - Try listening it with your outside stomach, then.
Goosebumps. Roisin is always a work of art.
“never underestimate a creative and the depths they will go to”. when i tell you this lyric SENT ME.
I know bro. Never have I ever heard something be said so profoundly. Makes me feel alive hearing it, each and everytime.
The whole album is a masterpiece guys. It is absolutely perfect just like Ruby Blue and Overpowered. She is monstrously talented.
Eggcelent video, Rói
"She's gone from pop to art." - 100% true !
Easily Ireland's best solo artist at the moment.
in my opinion, she's one of this decade's greatest pop artists. Not even at the moment, she's been consistently brilliant for years.
Roisin is such a creative force to be reckoned with. This musical break for her has really brought the best out in her music. THUMBS UP!
Weird and wonderful. Hey, Miss Murphy… has anybody ever talked to you about playing Dusty Springfield? I think you're the one.
I totally agree with you.
Ricardo Monteiro I thought that ten years ago mate. I also thought Lisa Stansfield would have played her well back then.... Why does the Dusty movie keep getting stalled ? Just as well if they aren't gonna do it right i guess.

Time is running out. we need to make a stink but where ????

Wow. Who is producing these tunes? An absolute treat for the ears.
Eddie Stevens ;)
Amazing and she is gorgeous

I completely missed this album because of stuff. I'll have to go and get it now.
Legendary! She looks incredibly fabulous and am so excited for this and more Róisín!
A piece like this makes me realise how uncreative, unimaginative, and uncultured I am.
Every Album she has released leaves me speechless and amazed................ EVERY TIME.
In this shitty generation of artists, Róisín shines like a lonely star.
No.
yes.
Joeveno Nope. Not true, Disagree.
Horses for courses
Róisín is rather part of a large and vibrating generation of visionary artists.
Fantastic video & Music- She is just a gem

UNIQUE!!
Perfect! I'm speechless! now I need Róisín in Southamerica!
I hope she gets to read this. I absolutely understand what she's communucating in this video and it's just...she never disappoints! I wish this video had 1M views by now because it's genius... She's so impressive, and such an inspiration to me artistically.
Update 20/7/2023: it has!
Queen is back. I love you Roisin
I'm so fascinated by this video and song. I've been watching this for the last 5 days and it has been on my mind over the days too.
👸 Is back! Back to slay! Lookin good..kind of Sam Fox From 80es..😊😃
+mobieusturner To me this song is equal parts 1978 and 1988.
She actually directed this video, such a great artist!

Beautiful work. Love.
Living for this
Wow. That's an amazing track.
Awesome song
Such an awesome track. I may be crazy, but the video seems to throw a lot of references to the John Cassavetes film "Opening Night."
Love love love Raisin Murphy, so good.
This is so incredible and excellent!......
She really is bloody wonderful
For some reason she reminds me of Dusty Springfield, and this is the first time I've seen somebody eating an egg in a music video. Nice work.
Such a beautiful singer.
I love some kind of madness in this vid!
Growing up:
Step 1, aquire a taste for freeform jazz
Step 2, love Roisin's new track.
Irelands daughter is well and truly back on form. Welcome back Roisin. Cant wait to receive my signed copy of hairless toys :)
Style. Charisma. Talent.
Truly beyond whats the song is about. honest spread of deliciousness on all us toasts!
Great video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great track and video.
Thats is an incredible piece of work Róisín. Musically and visually a cut above ALL the rest! Fair play to you and deepest respect from the ole sod (Tipperary).
when i'm thinking about you, i'm overpowered, roisin, queen
genius...pure and simple
Amazing references to Opening night with Gena Rowlands. Happy of this crossover of my favorite artists.
Top notch and well worthy of a footnote and that's for sure !
Lovely work Roisin :)
I just f***ing loved it!
Long live this gorgeous woman. x
The somewhat peculiar but immensely talented Roisin Murphy is back. And it's about time too.
God it's something about her and that egg that is hypnotizing
It's like I'm watching an ABBA video in 2015. I adore the Anni-Frid aesthetic on Miss Roisin.
had noooooo idea she was making new music! my god im so happy!
Very modern and on trend. This song will be timeless.
Said once and ill say it again, she a strange one and gets me
Love the guitar on this track. Can't wait to hear the new album.

Have not bought the physical album yet to look at the credits, but it seems the whole album was CO-produced by Eddie Stevens and Róisín Murphy.
It’s also reminiscent of DJ Sprinkles, the album “Midtown 120 Blues.” Róisín Murphy mentioned that album as reference on the new songs, this one in particular, and perhaps on House of Glass, too.
I love Roísín.
Brilliant!
So Good!
where have you been roisin. We missed you. This was great.
