- Join us this week as we head into the forest searching for Lost Treasures. This site is all but destroyed by Logging but we managed to find it and recover its treasure.
Hey Shawn, you dug some great relics today! Things which can be identified for age. It is just too difficult to judge the diameter of the bullet on video. BUT, I think it is a Semi Wadcutter cast lead bullet. Those can be cast in .38 up to .45. If it is larger than that, then it is probably 19th century. Excellent adventure today!

I agree. Last weekend I repelled down an icy slope to get to a cellar hole I found on Google Earth. Cellar hole treasure found on Google Earth! Before heading to the cellar hole, I confirmed its location with my DJI drone. Found Cellar hole treasure with Google Earth & DJI Drone. But, it was cold out there and I didn't have a sandwich. @@detectingpa8968

Thanks Lee! The crazier things get in the world the more the Forest calls out. I can’t put my finger on it but there is a feeling that’s familiar when at these old sites. A feeling or urgency to find what was lost so I can remember something…Almost like I need to remember because something is coming…. IDK maybe it’s just the Fireball talking.
It's not the fireball talking. These things don't lend themselves easily to words. We leave our homes to visit their homes. We walk in the footsteps of the founders; Their roads, their paths, their homesteads. We are the first to touch what they held and possessed. We are the unexpected guests of gratuitous hosts. We think of them often, as they think of us. We visit their homes, they visit ours.

We do that as well. Thinking what it must have looked like so long ago or visualize people working around the house and yard. That’s why we love the forest hunts

The adventure is one of the aspects we love. Detecting yards is okay, but the journey to and from these sites gives new meaning to the trials and hardships of the inhabitants of that time.

You had good weather and a good site. Would be nice if you could bring a boy scout group out to help map out the site and to😊 id items to create a history of a miner's home site.
Wonderful idea. Only problem with that is sometimes we take some pretty long hikes through treacherous conditions and terrain. We would probably need to have some sort of waiver created.

That price is at a station that always has low prices. Go 5 miles down the road and it’s back to 3.69.

Yes we have black bears. No need to worry about them this time a year though. Maybe in the spring when they have cubs.
