@@RebeccaMundschenk I think that was a different one that had cats on it, I could be wrong though. But yes, Cristine definitely needs this puzzle if she doesn't already have it.
This would be a great (albeit very challenging) puzzle for people with low or no vision - surface texture, unique pieces, and highly reflective (which some blind people who have some light perception might really enjoy). There really aren't many jigsaw puzzles around where it doesn't matter if you can't see colours or details.
Tip I've learned from doing vintage springbok puzzles. Use a rolling pin on the final puzzle to flatten the puzzle makes for a flat final surface and better photos.
Not only is this a blank puzzle, but if you look at it long enough with a bright light shining on the puzzle while working on it, you might get a migraine! :D Looks cool tho
I really like how she is embracing who she is as a person. Her personality traits her characteristics, her passion for doing puzzles and she is not ashamed at all. She is owning it, who she really is. I haven't watched all of her videos. But this puzzle looked so hard. I would have been complaining during the process of putting it together how hard it is. But she just accepts that it was hard and some take way longer then others. She sounded so positive when she was talking about this puzzle she almost pursuaded me to get the exact same one and give it a try. She makes doing puzzles look so easy.
My kid has “3D” holo Star Wars puzzles - the one with darth Vader is mostly black on black and despite being only 150 pieces took me longer than most 1000 puzzles. Brutal
I finished this puzzle on the same day you did (per Instagram) but I had been working on it for about 10 days, mostly an hour or two at a time until the last day when I powered through. I too sorted the pieces according to shape and worked from the bottom up, but I also sub-sorted the pieces according to the orientation of the pattern on them. In one direction, the holographic hexagon edges are parallel, and if you turn it 90 degrees, the edges form zig-zags instead, so if I was looking for one of the standard puzzle piece shapes, I knew I only had to look at the pieces where the pattern was oriented correctly. I used trays that let me easily rotate all the candidate pieces to face the direction I was needing. I think my puzzle has been done and taken apart a few times because the plastic holographic layer is lifting from the edges a little, so it’s not as neat as this one. I took a picture of the back, flipped it, and printed it out to put in the box for the next person in case they need a hint. :D
in these kind of cut, I find that the very weird piece usually are a normal piece cut in 2. so I tend to assemble the weird ones together to make the normal piece first.
I've only just started this video and I'm already just not understanding how you are going to do this. I love these challenging puzzles you do so much and the effort you put into the close up shots
Will you please try a photosamics puzzle? From what I've heard each piece has a tiny image on it that builds a big image. Would love to know the quality and how hard it is. Thanks!
After watching this video, I’ve been on the hunt for this puzzle. After a year of searching, I found it at a reuse book store for $5!!! 😮 I’m really hope that all the pieces are there! ❤️
Can I get an update on this puzzle please? Were all the pieces in the box? Did u enjoy putting it together? Did u find it difficult? I'm bingeing Karen's videos and saw your comment and now I'm super curious lol
I loved this video. Honestly, when you said that this puzzle required your full brain to solve, reminded me the spanish translation of jigsaw puzzle: rompecabezas. This literally means head breaker.
Springbok is wild. You know a puzzle is hard when it is normal shaped and you just move on from completing the edge pieces because of how long it takes. I loved how HOLOGRAPHIC it was too! Great as always, Karen!
There is nothing abt this holographic puzzle that looks fun. I give you so much credit Karen when you do these puzzles. They feel more like work than enjoyment to me. So no I would not be doing this puzzle! LOL I enjoy my bright graphic puzzles, defined shapes, etc. I just did a Ravensburger puzzle with beach chairs and umbrella. Those were fun to put together. The sky resorted to piece shapes. That's why I'm not a fan of the same piece puzzles, just in case I need to rely on the shape. Nice job! Really impressive that you finished in such a short period of time. And no complaints of migraines or seizures!!! win/win!
LOL! If i was doing that puzzle I think 99% of it would be by "brute force"! That has got to be a very difficult puzzle! Yes, I would attempt it - but put it some place I could work on it over months!
Awww I love Karen’s can-do attitude!! I had to take a break from a 3000-piece puzzle Karen inspired me to start, but this video made me want to get back to it & finish it up. Karen, can I ask how long you keep puzzles in-tact before deconstructing them? Specifically puzzles that caused you a bit of a headache in the process? Do you keep them up for longer, or do you never want to look at them again? 😂
All bow down to the Puzzle Queen! There is no way I would ever try a holographic puzzle. I would get frustrated & give up on it after a short period of time. Congrats!!
I would definitely like to try a Springbok puzzle - those piece shapes look like a fun challenge! But I’m not sure I have the staying power for a holographic puzzle like this one. Well done!
Holey Morley Holographic! If it takes Karen Puzzles over 14 hours to do this puzzle, I’d be lucky to get it done in 75! What a cool puzzle, but not something I would tackle in the, or even distant, future. Nice work and great video!
Holographic puzzles are not on my list of puzzles I want to do as they look like they would give me a headache, but watching you do it is very satisfying can’t wait to see what you do next
It would be fun if you "measured" the difficulty of every puzzle on a pieces-placed-per-minute basis. I.e. at the end of each puzzle, divide your total puzzling time by the number of pieces! That way we can get a sense of how hard you find each new puzzle compared to other ones you've done before!
I'm a 70 year old lady. I have never had much of an interest in puzzles, I've tried once or twice with no success. Since I have been watching your channel, your helpful information has been very interesting and encouraging. I tried doing some on my tablet which I enjoyed. Today I bought my first "real " puzzle (500 pieces) and a piece of foam board. I'm going to try it, using the hints and suggestions that you have on your videos. I didn't know there was a method to the madness! We'll see how it goes! ❤🌻🌟💛🌟🌻❤
Another tip that I find very useful when I am doing a color block or difficult puzzle ( havent donde any Holographic yet) is to change “perspective”. what I do when I feel stock is I move across the table and look at the puzzle upside down! it does help. Maybe karen 1.does not need thay tip and 2. She has camara setup facing only ine way. Another thing is if I find two pieces thay go together but not on the puzzle yet (may be like an ocean print) I build up around those pieces, like a mini puzzle within the puzzle…this is soooooo helpful you would end up with a huge piece or many easily to find where it goes. :)
I've just gotten into puzzling because I randomly found your channel and it peaked my interest... However, you make it look so easy! Thanks for the wholesome good times :)
When I was a brat we used to go to the science museum and they sold badges with liquid Crystal stuff in that changed colour with heat and pressure. Wouldn’t generate a coherent image, but was very pretty.
I recently found your TH-cam channel in my recommendations because I love doing jigsaw puzzles myself, I glue mine down on poster boards and hang them up on my walls. It’s so satisfying to watch you press in each piece with that up close view. My largest puzzle I’ve done so far is 3,000 pieces and it’s the Ravensburger Oceanic Wonders puzzle. I usually only buy puzzles that are 500 pieces or more and only ones that have like dolphins, whales, etc or Pokémon ones.
Omg, that could possibly be the hardest puzzle I've ever seen!! But it also is so pretty, I think I would be distracted by the holographic colors, they are such a beautiful visual stim! I think it would take me about 20 hours because I actually have the eye-thing, if I force it to much it will start to randomly shake and that's when I know I've been puzzling for too long 😂
I would love to see you do another Krypt puzzle since you have done so many solid color puzzles since the Silver Krypt experience. I wonder if you would enjoy it more.
Holographic. Wow! How beautiful that puzzle is, very elegant. I thought the pieces were already glued when you showed it 22:28 ...(I always believe in you when you say you are going to finish them)
While I love the timelapse moments showing the progress, it’s extremely satisfying to watch individual pieces being put in. Just watching them fit in close up is nice.
What a beautiful puzzle and for only $50 I might need to grab one!! After watching you solve the blue kazoo impossible red puzzle I got all 3 of them too. You've officially influenced me 😅 HOLOGRAPHIC 💖💖💖
I loved the Prismatic and Prismatic II puzzles. Those got glued and nailed to my basement ceiling with the other puzzles I never want to work again. Lol
Wow well done! There is no way I would ever do a holographic puzzle - definitely too difficult for me. 😱Thankful that I can experience this however with a passionate puzzlemaster!👍👍
Holy Holographic! It’s always fun to watch you puzzle your way right through a challenge! I’m very interested in getting a Springboc puzzle now, but maybe one a little more friendly!
Karen has been on _FIRE_ with these videos. I woke up today and was like "if Karen has another video out today...". Karen, I hope you're taking some breaks too! This **holographic** puzzle was cool though :P
That holographic puzzle is a little crazy! I'm watching your video while putting together a Disney Thomas Kinkade puzzle, so I'm obviously making my life much simpler. ;)
HOLOGRAPHIC. I would never attempt this puzzle because it would surely give me a headache from Hades. But I would love to see it in person, and I enjoyed watching you put it together, seeing how you analyse and break down the task so methodically. I'm happy for you that you can earn a living doing something so niche that you truly love. :)
I don't think i would do this *holographic* puzzle, but it is so much fun to watch you doing this, so ofc I'd like to see you doing the golden puzzle. :)
I love puzzles that take me more than a few hours to put together. I'm currently working on one of the newer(I'm pretty sure they're a reprint) murder mystery puzzles, it's called Murder on the Titanic
Wow, That Holographic puzzle is both so beautiful and so difficult. Well done for persevering. Where do you think it sits on your list of difficult puzzles?
Love the shapes of the pieces in that puzzle. I seem to have more fun being able to see a shape and find it. However, that holographic pattern would be way too intimidating to pursue. I bow to your greatness!
Whenever you say "I finished the sorting" I feel like I'm in the Great Hall and the Houses are decided by some puzzlers qualities that you might posess...
A puzzle buddy of mine found this last week for under $3 thrifting (tried hard not to be jealous) and I referred her to this video. She's lucky that her copy was disassembled in sections so if she wants to sell it, she'll have an easier time assembling it to verify the piece count... But I just found my own copy today for 79 cents!!! 😮😮😮 Mine is NOT mostly preassembled and the box is In TERRIBLE shape, but it has the original marketing inside and the pieces look to be in wonderful condition. I can't believe that we found 2 copies in Vegas thrift stores in such a short time. Her copy also had a glued together mini solid green circle puzzle inside of the box AND she found the hexagon Puzzler II the SAME trip. I'm totally screenshotting the final result from this video to use it as a cheat since I suspect the piece cut is the same...if not...well...wish me even more luck!
After completing such an ornery puzzle like your holographic puzzle, do you ever “decompress” by following that up with putting together an ordinary thousand piece jigsaw puzzle of a plain scene like an English garden?
I would really like a video about your most difficult puzzles in a ranking😊 It would be very interesting to see your perspective on it and how you determine the difficulty of each puzzle.
Every time I do a springbok puzzle I spend so much time swearing that they are missing pieces. I love them though and they are definitely SOOOO satisfying
My daughter has a 100 piece holographic panda bear puzzle from National Geographic that a friend of mine picked up at a thrift store. It's neat and not too difficult but also kind of annoying and headachy to me. I would probably loathe this one lol. But I would love to see you do the gold one and any more you might find in the series! That sounds like fun to watch!
I tried to search for this series all over the internet and the gold is #2, but I can't find any more after that. Odd. I guess Springbok gave up? Or I'm missing something lol.
Would you ever attempt this holographic puzzle? I hope you like this look into one of the most unique puzzles I've ever seen!
Nope.
Yup.
I would definitely try this puzzle its so beautiful!!
maybe, as it's "only" a 500 pieces
It is mesmerising!! I love it so much. I am sure Cristine from Simply nailogical would love to see it as well :D
I feel like this should have been the Karen Puzzles/SimplyNailogical crossover we didn’t know we needed
Exactly! When I see holo, I think “Cristine probably needs this in her life” 🤣
I think she was actually gifted this puzzle at one point, if I recall correctly - it was on one of her long opening the mail videos.
Dream come true as I’m getting ready to put some Holo Taco on my nails tonight.
Thanks to the TH-cam algorithm, I get this reference.
@@RebeccaMundschenk I think that was a different one that had cats on it, I could be wrong though. But yes, Cristine definitely needs this puzzle if she doesn't already have it.
Getting simply nailogical vibes from this puzzle, like if Christine was a puzzle this was the puzzle she would be
Omg another simply fan
That would be a fun collaboration!
True she would be tje puzzle🤣
When I first saw the puzzle I instantly thought of Christine
Agreed
AND IT'S REAL HOLO! You should get Cristine from SimplyNailogical to do it, while you do your nails in Holo Taco nail varnish!
I too thought thought of Cristine (no h) when I saw this title :P
Simply fans yay
Oh my god, I was about to comment exactly this. I'm late but it's so funny
This would be a great (albeit very challenging) puzzle for people with low or no vision - surface texture, unique pieces, and highly reflective (which some blind people who have some light perception might really enjoy). There really aren't many jigsaw puzzles around where it doesn't matter if you can't see colours or details.
Haha, tell me you are a Molly viewer, without telling me you are a Molly viewer! 👍

I was actually thinking that exact same thing!!! 😜
thaks for the tip!

I got several headaches while doing this puzzle.

I like when you bring out these old Springbok puzzles. My Grandma had a time completing this one. Thanks for bringing back some good memories.
Somebody should send that puzzle to Cristine !
Springboks modern puzzles still have all those piece shape tricks - definitely a little tricky but i find them way more fun than just standard cuts!
The pieces inside the puzzle frame look like like dancing people during the fast moving sections, I love it, very cute.
Omg holo AND Karen?! Best day ever!!!
Thank you for not saying “First” for no reason like first commenters so often do.
I’m so glad you’re doing Springboks lately, they’ve been my mom’s puzzle brand of choice since the seventies.

The future is now! A hypercolor puzzle would be very difficult, when you touched a piece the color would change.
When I was a brat we used to go to the science museum and they sold badges with liquid Crystal stuff in that changed colour with heat and pressure. Wouldn’t generate a coherent image, but was very pretty.
Oh lord ... like Q*Bert!
What an incredible holographic puzzle. Beautiful and such a snug fit.

With Karen and persistence, she'll get it together!
What a beautiful puzzle! I just love holographic things. It looks really tough, but if I ever were to do a solid color puzzle, this would be the one!
What a beautiful puzzle and for only $50 I might need to grab one!! After watching you solve the blue kazoo impossible red puzzle I got all 3 of them too. You've officially influenced me 😅 HOLOGRAPHIC 💖💖💖

This is so satisfying. Love tge holographic puzzle and trees in the 2nd in the series gold one.

Wow well done! There is no way I would ever do a holographic puzzle - definitely too difficult for me. 😱Thankful that I can experience this however with a passionate puzzlemaster!👍👍
This would be the perfect thing to place on a wall that catches stray sunbeams, imagine what a pretty headache everyone would get walking past it!
I think a holographic puzzle would make me dizzy! Kudos to you Karen!
We have some HOLOGRAPHIC puzzles, but they have pictures. Well done on completing this one! 👍
Holy Holographic! It’s always fun to watch you puzzle your way right through a challenge! I’m very interested in getting a Springboc puzzle now, but maybe one a little more friendly!
Those springbok pieces look so nice and chunky! This really makes me want to try one of their puzzles on my channel. Great job getting it done!
Have you done any eeboo? They have a great thickness to them
Such a beautiful holographic puzzle 🥰but Karen! You didn’t run your hand over the puzzle at the end 😱

Holographic. Looks very nice. I’d definitely do it.
This is perfect for my bestie!!! She will love it ( & slightly hate me when she’s stumped😁🤩💎) . Thanks so much for sharing this with us!
Thé puzzle is indeed beautiful.
Holographic- I do puzzles all the time and this would be one i would not do. Great job! Keep up the good work.
