Yeah I have some ennerdale a couple years old and smoked it when it was “new” now when I dig around looking for a smoke I always have to shove it out the way to find something enjoyable!!
I literally laughed out loud at work while watching your first video. "Garbage Notebook paper" should become a staple phrase for terrible blends. 😂 I like the brutal honesty. I can't say I've tried that blend though.
I never understood why I liked that song. Who can say?? Maybe it means something terrifying. Yeah ebay is bullshit. Then you got Walmart preparing to sell primarily online. Looked like a good day fishing that other video. God bless you and may He watch over you all the days of your life. Don't overdo it, might kill your lungs.
Hey Brian sorry for the hassle with shipping the pipe up here it’s a shame they are treating pipes like contravanned … and thanks for the heads up on eccentric I was going to purchase a tin but after seeing a few reviews it’s a hard no lol … have a great day!
I have just ordered Black and Brown Irish Twists, and I'm looking forward to try them. I'm don't go for scented tobacco often, however I like those classical scented plugs like Revor. Have a pleasant weekend Brian, Janez
Good morning and Happy Saturday my friend. I have several tins of this, but I haven't cracked them open yet. Based on this, I think I'll wait a few years. I did like the Whimsical. I do like the tin art. On those twists I like using a guillotine cigar cutter. It works really nice for that. I'm smoking some Squadron Leader this morning, cold and rainy here too. Have a great weekend.
Thanks Frank I tried using my cigar cutter a couple times as well I keep a knife out in the shop , going to be 75 this weekend Cody and I are hitting the river
Yeah I can but really it’s just your own preference I’ve played around with using a cigar cutter or just a sharp knife cut a couple coins off either rub them out or put whole coin in pipe . It’s fun to try different methods
I just ran across your videos, and I very much appreciate your straight forward, and detailed reviews. Being new, I'm keeping notes on which tobaccos I like and don't like. So if you name the same tobaccos I like in your review and you give it a great review, then I know it's some thing I might like to try. Presently I'm trying to determine if I like Peter Stokkebye Luxury Bullseye Flake. I use the folding method, so the tobacco goes into the pipe differently each time. Which causes it to taste some what different each time. Of course I know I could just rub it out, but where's the sport in doing that..? Thanks for your review..!
Hi Brian, thanks for the review. I’m glad I didn’t buy into that or the bird series. I did buy a tin of Ennerdale to try a Lakeland. And a new pipe. Lol. It can with a “free” tamper. I’ll wait for your review before popping the tin. ✌️
EGGGHHHHH Ebay....glad I got into piping back when you could get good pipes. Its sad they are doing that crap. Love you honesty in your reviews! LOL I try and do the same in mine.
I don’t think I’ve smokes the whiskey version, but I’ve tried the Rum, the “A” type and the natural and I can barley feel the difference, they go very easy on the toppings with the twists. 😊 Just packed up a bowl of SG brown N4, it’s unscented and strong! Good smoke, not as smooth as the G&H ropes though. Enjoy your smoke!
I was really shocked I like the dark flake scented the smell in the jar was nothing but soap and flowers but did not taste like that while smoking it , going to finally crack Ennerdale this weekend I hear it’s a flower bomb 🤢🤢
In my opinion US companies make too many blends. It’s mostly marketing. They combine all kinds of stuff just to make new blends every day. Because people in US buy them immediately. SG GH , Germain have the same blends for many many years. The idea is to make a few great ones consistently good for the longest time. Tradition. I would still love to have some of the US blends in Europe of course. I would give a hand and a leg actually 😂We don’t even have GH in Europe anymore Great video as always!! Silviu!
Beans I always appreciate your reviews because my taste is close to yours except I like less Perique in blends. However I need clarification on your GH favorites? Your prior reviews and comments indicated Brown Flake was your favorite. Is dark flake now your favorite or was that a slip of the tongue?
No the dark flake and dark flake unscented are both really good but the brown flake unscented is really good as well I still need to review the brown flake scented
Even when Latakia is good…it still sucks. Haha. I knew you’d like the dark aromatic. The dark plug is another one to snag early after a drop. Have a great week thanks for the review.
It's too bad you don't like this blend, but that's the chance we take when we try different blends. I never chased any of those blends in that series and I don't regret it. I don't smoke Latakia blends anymore. Now, most ropes I've tried I really enjoy.
I tried the G&H Brown flake scented after your last review of it and really enjoy that, I think it had even more Lakeland scent than Ennerdale - I obviously enjoy the Lakeland scented stuff. Also I’ve been on a St. Bruno kick too, it is quickly becoming my favorite tobacco. Looking for a 6” 9mm filtered Billiard finished in a brown rusticated if you make that - Rainy days best for smoking on the porch - Take care
Morning Brian, the moment i seen the 2 blends review on the title i knew you did not like the 1st one😂. I stayed away from these blends because i knew it was sutliff leaf even if blended by per jensen it still is the same tobacco i dont care for. I have tried the whisky rope, was decent but not my favorite, i like the rum twist and the bown twist the most. Enjoy the weekend brother
Baaahhhaaaa ohhhh the agony terrible just terrible, I was really shocked with the dark flake scented I thought it would be over the top with Lakeland sauce but it wasn’t only the smell in the jar was bad
Interesting reviews, LOL. Already finding out the branding can be a BIG part of the business (and that many blends are not gonna be far apart!) I did buy into this and the recent Anamolous editions- sounded interesting enough, and got decent early reviews on tr- But hope my mileage varies on this one, ha!
@@beans316 you know what- and I genuinely ain’t saying this just to be contrarian, lol- I tried it, and rather enjoyed it, first impressions, lmao! Found it actually seemed to have its own unique edge on the lay bomb sorta style…as you regularly say though, subjectivity is the name of the game!!😅👍
@@UncleBurntApostrophe I’ll tell you one to try and look for a actual Latakia blend I really liked but it’s a special release was Father the Flame I really liked that one
That’s the way I felt about the brown sugar flake 😂😂.. Smoking some aged Gold Brick that I got from Cody 😊.. Yeah with the crime in Chicago I’d just assume go to Vegas anyway 🤷♂️
That gold brick is good stuff I have jars cellared , I’m finding the Hogarth blends are very similar to the HU Tobacco all are really smooth and most are blended properly
Yeah it just seems like there trying to promote Vegas much more than Chicago anymore, Vegas to me isant a big deal having a casino right here in my town
Thanks for sharing Brian. Some blends just focus on the the tin art and not the tobacco. Sounds like the twist is a good one though. Enjoy your weekend. Happy smokes
Yeah I always go back after a couple weeks and retry everything I open just to see any difference but you can’t like them all haha this one definitely not for me
Boy, you hated that stuff brother, lol! Can’t wait till you crack that ennerdale. Will be entertaining to see you take two puffs and throw the cob away, lol
Baaahhhaaaa I’m certainly not looking forward to it but it’s time to crack it this Saturday, I really like the dark flake scented so maybe it will be tolerable 🤢🤢
God I hate MS River SR. Heavily topped with Worchestershire sauce & stagnant puddle water seemingly. But I bought two tins. G & H tobacs have changed my opinion of tobacco forever. I'm heavily stocking up on them as they become available.
I bought some of the first stuff Sutliff released as well. Very disappointing and way over hyped. Threw some in a jar and will try it again in a year. Decided not to try anymore
Never could smoke the twist rope tobacco - looks too much like the little presents the neighbors dog leaves in my front yard. Whenever I see the hints of green along the brown the rope reminds me of a turd and destroys any appetite I might have for it. Now oddly enough, bricks don't do that to me. Guess the dog has ruined it for me.
Brian, I've never tried any of this group of tobaccos from Gorge Jenson but I'm hearing the same thing in reviews that you are saying. Just not a quality tobacco. I'm not wasting my money on it.
Yeah I have some ennerdale a couple years old and smoked it when it was “new” now when I dig around looking for a smoke I always have to shove it out the way to find something enjoyable!!
Haha I’m finally going to crack a tin of Ennerdale this weekend ohhhh the pain 🤢
“I try to be nice.” 😊 Your honest, personal opinion is appreciated, brother.
I hope you can dry out, and get back on the boat soonest!
All the best!

I've not tried any of those Bird blends. Don't plan to either. Honestly, I'd be fine if my cellar was just G&H blends.😂 Thanks Brian!
Your definitely better off Randy so far the Hogarth blends are top notch
“Nuthin but hot air”. Wow. Glad I had no part of these tin art offerings. Thanks for the great review.
Haha more I think about it I should have scored it a 2

@pipetobak I love the Black and the Brown twists. If you are nicotine sensitive be warned, they are strong.
