There is video from a documentary I think where Christine sits in an empty auditorium at the piano and sings this song. It's worth looking up. "Songbird" stands on its own and in the process makes Christine a goddess.
Every single time I hear this song it never fails to bring tears...it's just that good! This has to be one of my favorite songs ever! Absolute perfection! RIP Christine McVie...we miss you.
During the late 70s my older brother would either play Rumours (or another Fleetwood Mac or a Linda Ronstadt album) every day when he would come in from work and take a bath. Even when I was in my room I would hear these albums as he would turn the stereo up so he could hear them in the bath on the other side of the house.
she was an amazing musician and person - I can just about listen to this song again now - was one of the songs at my dad's funeral so Christine's death hit hard. RIP beautiful songbird x
You owe it to yourself to listen to Eva Cassidy's version of Songbird. She makes this incredibly beautiful song her own, and as always nobody does it like her.
Before she was Christie McVie, she was Christine Perfect, a well-known and greatly respected London musician. She has early solo work, if you're interested. Love her.
my most favourite christine fleetwood mac songs: you make loving fun hold me over my head as much as i love stevie, my favs from RUMOURS belong to lindsey ("go your own way") and christine (above). they're the 2 songs i still love listening to anytime i hear them on the radio 😊
All of the Fleetwood Mac songwriters were good, and both Stevie and Lindsey had interesting voices, but I think Christie had the best and purest voice, and I find most of her songs to be more "adult" than those of the others. Of the three, only Christie McVie has the ability to make me cry. I can *recognize* and acknowledge the emotional underpinnings of the songs by Stevie and Lindsey, but I *feel* the emotional underpinnings of Christie's songs.
I've only heard the album version and I knew it was the last song before I had to turn the record over :-D Even Urban Outfitters sells Rumors on vinyl to this day.
🖤Stevie Nick's did a remembrance montage during her Tour last March to Songbird to close the show and everyone in TMobile Arena Las Vegas was in tears 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭it was beautiful and then Stevie sang 2 Tom Petty song too......her good friend🖤😢
Beautiful song and a beautiful singer/songwriter. I also love the version done by Naya Rivera (RIP to both ladies) on Glee, and thank goodness the showrunners gave this song to someone who did it justice.
While Stevie and Lindsey were the focus, Christine was the glue that held it all together. She has many hits like: th-cam.com/video/5dSMVuSyuJc/w-d-xo.html ( Over my head - Fleetwood Mac TKV ) the audio is from the studio, cut with images from concerts. another is "Warm Ways" and then there is "Say You Love Me" th-cam.com/video/4DBa_SmThDM/w-d-xo.html ( Say You Love Me (2017 Remaster) )
This one I wished was the album version. The album track is just pristine, and I think the vocals are more touching, almost as if she gives the song a little more breathing room on the album. You really feel the song.
She was absolutely lovely. I remember seeing the video for "Love Will Show Us How" from her '84 solo album, and seeing her be the straight woman amidst all the goofiness. You should listen to that album, one of the best of the '80s.
I know most of the praise for the Rumors era of Fleetwood Mac usually goes to Stevie and Lindsey, but honestly I thought Christine had the best voice of the three singers. Heck of a writer and very soft but sweet voice, she probably doesn't get the recognition that she deserved. Just the songs that she sang and wrote like Over My Head, Say You Love Me, Don't Stop, Love In Store, and Hold Me showed she could hold her own.
Agree with you 💯#. And she wasn’t the diva or attention seeker like Stevie always was. Every concert, it was always Stevie. Christine’s voice was perfect, easy to listen to and not nasally like Stevie.
Dude, you should listen to Come a little bit Closer and Prove your Love, both from Heroes are Hard to Find, by Fleetwood Mac. Incredibly beautiful, my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs.
This is the only song i really enjoy from this iteration of FM. I find Buckingham Nicks style very pop. For me it is Peter Green who made Fleetwood Mac great. My favourite Christine Perfect song is I'd Rather Go Blind. Beth Harts version gets more airplay, for me Christine's is more soulful.
On the studio version, she seems to dwell on each line. The impact of the Rumors version is worth the experience. If not for the channel, be sure to check it out for yourself.
As screwed up as everything was and they all were within this lineup of Fleetwood Mac, when they worked together, they all fell perfectly into place and they all belonged there. The results speak for themselves.
Usually their concert closer. Christine McVie is beyond superb and sublime.
RIP Songbird. But, she stays alive IF YOU PLAY THE MUSIC
Such a talented songstress. And she didn't just write songs for herself - she wrote them for the group. She shoulda lived forever.
There is video from a documentary I think where Christine sits in an empty auditorium at the piano and sings this song. It's worth looking up. "Songbird" stands on its own and in the process makes Christine a goddess.
Such a recognizable voice…a stunner.
That folks is music for the soul
One of my favorite.....Salvog is going to very much cry on this song sung brilliantly by Christine McVie!!!
Such a beautiful song. So many of Christine’s are underrated.
It's a beautiful song. If you haven't reacted to it yet, you might as well listen to "Don't Stop," also written by McVie.
I love another of her songs on Rumour, “You Make loving Fun
*Rumours* .....one of the best albums ever recorded.
Simply beautiful song and singer.
RIP Christine, our Song Bird.
Real class.
Elegance....that's one way to describe Christine, that's for sure. ❤
One of my all-time favorite songs! So beautiful, so sweet.
She commented once that she doesn't like playing this song because it made her sad. But everyone loves it.
Every single time I hear this song it never fails to bring tears...it's just that good! This has to be one of my favorite songs ever! Absolute perfection! RIP Christine McVie...we miss you.
Makes me 😢 every time ❤
Stunning with class!
Christine is our ‘perfect’ songbird.
Chris is finally beginning to get the respect and recognition she's deserved for so long.
When she passed, so many artists performed this song in memory of her. Some of them are on TH-cam. Such a beautiful tribute to her.
I really miss Christine so much. RIP Songbird.

Tank you! SalvoG! So Much!!!
You owe it to yourself to listen to Eva Cassidy's version of Songbird. She makes this incredibly beautiful song her own, and as always nobody does it like her.
I walked down the aisle to this for my 2nd wedding. Absolutely wonderful song. Happy memories.
Just beautiful 😊
What a talented and charming lady❤
Pra sempre! Senhores e #senhores !/_
Before she was Christie McVie, she was Christine Perfect, a well-known and greatly respected London musician. She has early solo work, if you're interested. Love her.
Not forgetting her impeccable contribution to Chicken Shack.
I love her music and miss her so much.
Beautiful song, very emotional. Eva Cassidy did a wonderful rendition. Would love you to react to that too
I agree, would love to see him react to it too
my most favourite christine fleetwood mac songs:
you make loving fun
hold me
over my head

Pleeease react to Eva Cassidy's cover of this song. Absolutely gorgeous. Hello from sunny Florida 🌞🌴
No auto tune just perfection!! ❤
I've only heard the album version and I knew it was the last song before I had to turn the record over :-D Even Urban Outfitters sells Rumors on vinyl to this day.

One of my favorites!
Rest in peace Songbird!!💜💜🎶🎼🎵🎹🎹🎹😥😥
Beautiful song and a beautiful singer/songwriter. I also love the version done by Naya Rivera (RIP to both ladies) on Glee, and thank goodness the showrunners gave this song to someone who did it justice.
Makes me tear up every time 😢😢😢
So beautiful. Just can't listen to this one without tears.❤
Christine McVie makes those three words so believable that it’s probably no wonder that folks cry.
Such a beautiful song, sung by a beautiful voice!
Thank You so much for this! Such a unique voice with rich emotive tones, unlike any others!!! She defined a era for me and will be sorely missed!!!
It’s one of my favorites of hers. Such a beautiful song.
Salve ! Salve salve!.......Christine Ma vie!!
This is a great song, my 2nd favorite Christine song ("Why" is my #1). Eva Cassidy's cover is worth a listen.
Beautiful!
A song that reminds me of my dad.

R.I.P. Miss Perfect (Christine Perfect married Mc Vie) , i was lucky to see thisFleetwood Mac Line-up in 2015 ! so excellent
Try " Oh Daddy " also from rumors
This one I wished was the album version. The album track is just pristine, and I think the vocals are more touching, almost as if she gives the song a little more breathing room on the album. You really feel the song.
I know everyone always talks a lot about Stevie nicks but I absolutely love Christine McVies voice ❤️so beautiful ✌️
I agree. Stevie's voice is interesting and I enjoy listening to her, but Christie's voice just feels like a better and purer singing voice.
@@RD-jc2eu absolutely 💯✌️

❤❤❤❤❤❤
She was the real deal!
You also did Go Your Own Way.
Her opus to us all ❤

For years, they used to close their shows with this one.

must react to twice killing voice
Absolutely beautiful tune but you need to listen to "Everywhere' or Gypsy. Xxx
he has reactions to both of these on TH-cam! :)
