it was incredible how so many people just GOT the message right away - meanwhile establishment media pretended to either not understand or demonize fans of the movie. just goes to show how real this is.
Media demonized it because they understood it fully and are well aware there are many Jokers out there that simply do not act out. I voted for Trump because he was an agent of chaos in a country going communist. If New York or California got nuked tomorrow I would be finding the nearest stairwell to dance down. Some people just want to see the world burn. I want to see the communist states burn first for demonizing me based on my political beliefs.
It is scary - I can't imagine anyone really wanting society to break down, which is why it baffles me that decisions aren't being made to make people's lives better. Surely the politicians and rich people have the most to lose? Seems crazy to relentlessly make things worse
I loved how the film didn't glorify his actions. You just felt bad for him. No one would want to be that joker. He was full of pain and sadness covered by a laugh and a smile.
‼️In my opinion because of in€ e1 culture and other male groups growing due to society treating them badly and treating them like outcasts they will continue to grow and continue to lash out. Men commit over 80% of all self endings in the United States every single year and that number is only growing. Eventually they're going to stop hurting themselves and start hurting society. If you noticed when the joker came out all of the news stations were like worrying and saying there was going to be a mass ****ting at a Joker showing because so many men were fans of it. Which is f****** dumb because John wick is way more violent but they didn't think any of those fans were going to sho** up a theater. If society continues to demonize these men they will eventually lash out en masse and probably start a revolution. If you kick a dog enough you shouldn't be surprised when it turns around and mauls you to death.
Theat was a very valid point. Title was misleading, as society has been this way for a loooong time, possibly centuries; it’s just that people refuse to first observe it and then recognize it.

I am a female and my first reaction to making eye contact with someone is to smile, when I smile at other females they usually nod and give a small smile back. When I smile at men I usually see genuine surprise and a reciprocated smile, their eyes light up. I don't think men are used to even being smiled at, and I am discovering I am not wrong in this theory. More and more people are voicing how cruelly men are treated.
I believe your theory to be true. Thats usually because there is a difference in physical dynamics and females are usually the weaker one's. The last time I smiled at a male stranger he pulled down his pants and started jerking off and chased me down the street. It is my fault? No. Is it the society fault? Maybe. But what I know is it is definitely his fault. My generosity of friendliness was abused. And I shall not place myself in that risk again. I have empathy for losers and incels. But it is not my responsibility to make sure they better themselves. They are. The meaning of life shouldn't be a social responsibility. What people need to do is to be aware that only they can give their own life meaning. The joker is only a warning to those that do not wish to improve themselves. The alternative is a hero story. Go fight your dragons gentlemen.
The part that makes you insane is that when you try to express how you feel, everyone looks at you like you're the only one suffering. When in reality, everyone is alone and suffering in silence.

Being friendly has no cost and is invaluable to that other person.
The scary part isn't what the movie is telling us. The scary part is that mainstream society and media is determined to silence the message and demonise anyone talking about it. Which, ironically, is what the movie is talking about to an extent.
Ironic how the left/MSM constantly talk about how huge of an issue mental health is in this country and how poorly it is addressed. So when a movie comes out that shines a spotlight on the dangers of ignore mental health and finally gets through to people that we need to more about mental health, abuse, and loneliness, the Left/MSM condemn this movie for doing the very thing they claim to preach.

The idea that the "mainstream media" is somehow desperate to "silence the message" of a movie that cost $70 million to make, was produced by one of the biggest studios in the world, was nominated for 11 Oscars and won two, and grossed a billion dollars in revenue is beyond stupid

Prime example is recently Dr. Peterson wept at the idea of men going through this ordeal alone and feminists and MSM couldn't wait to attack the guy and masculinity in general.

The boys also has a narrative on how the dystopian society can turn someone into a monster. Homelander is a perfect example of someone who has been alone and not genuinely loved his whole life. 4 stages of how modern society collapses: 1. Lack of social cohesion 0:22 - everyone witnessing Arthur's mistreatment either ignores it or willingly looks away -> compounds into a hatred of oneself (e.g. The Looking Glass Self) + no connection to the people at work, home, or people around him. 2. Mass resentment 4:45 - resentment felt by the men in society who have been put down and rejected can be brought from things such as: - Loneliness. For ex, Arthur has no good social relations and communication in the movie. (i.e. Arthur's ineffective therapy sessions and no one to communicate his feelings/thoughts to, except for his fantasy of his interactions with Sophie.) - No higher purposes or goals. Arthur's life consists of feeling inadequate + numb to medication + boring existence = leading him to find any joy possible through temporary, insubstantial sources. He then finds his sense of purpose in perpetuating a chaotic ideology as the Joker. 3. Social unrest 13:55 - political radicalization amongst people who lack a direction in life, using these ideologies as destructive outlets for their resentment and suffering. This will directly lead to unrest, violence, and revolution. 4. The trigger 19:03 - release of the pent up anger and resentment at the society that treated him like dirt. In other words, a catharsis of his mistreatment from almost everyone around him.
I love the ending to Joker because he is not rejoicing over killing people like Frank Murray, but he's rejoicing because there's a crowd of people with clown masks actually admiring him. Something that he lacked his entire life.
Yeah it's like, he thought he was alone in his struggle, and all it took was 1 person to break the image of what's normal and acceptable in today's world, and along came all the people who felt EXACTLY like him, if not worse and wanted to join in his revolution and let him know, he's not alone. Honestly, I've been through some things in life, and watching this movie in the cinema then, made me smile so much at many parts because of how I felt like I connected to the Joker for the 1st time and how he was finally standing up for himself. I know it sounds like I'm endorsing murder but I'm actually referring to the tipping points in people like me.
The cause of all this is the broken family. A large percentage of people who are parents do not deserve to be parents and are incapable which cause them to produce children who will end up self destructing. This is the ultimate heresy to say but all girls should be put in birth control pills starting at puberty till 65 years old and only the ones in a long committed relationship with a very stable husband should be allowd after 7 years of marriage proving their ability of being good parents then allowed to stop taking the daily birth control pills.
It was a powerful scene, but the only one I think could be improved. The perspective alternates between a reality of smoke, fire, shouting and chaos; with arthur's view: soft focus, warm light, laughing, happy clowns.
The movie is imo, a mirror of what the radical left is currently doing, and they are also the ones with a hold on most "film critic" websites. "Building the resentment " even more.
@@nenmaster5218 you must have been living under a rock if you say that. the immense amount of negative reporting on the movie even BEFORE it was even released was monumental. Constant bombardment in the media of potential shootings, incels, right wing extremism etc.
I hate it because it is a mediocre film at best. And to think that this film is the first of its kind, especially when the movies that heavily inspired it are far superior, is ludicrous. You don't need this film to serve as a mirror. Hell, you don't need ANY film to do that. If you've got a spark of either curiosity, lonerism (term courtesy of a Tame Impala album), or individuality, or some combination of these, you can examine and make judgments of society.

This movie shows the ugly sides of the real world so well and what it does to someone. No one thinks what it's like to be the other guy, they just try to get rid of them. Eventually so many people turn on you that you no longer know who are your real friends, you question everyone just waiting for the next one to leave your side. It feels like a prison where the only escape is distracting yourself every day from the reality you're in and you begin to hate yourself more and more and more. Arthur is in quite possibly the worst situation you can be in, at least mentally, which is why it pushes him so far to do the things he do eventually turning him into the Joker. He quite literally has nothing left to lose, so he just wants other people to lose things they love so they can know what it's like to be him and why they shouldn't have ignored him when he was lying on the ground. To some this movie is just wonderful acting and a great story, but to others.....it's proof that your voice is heard and that you're not alone.
@vDREEGONv 100% point on, especially when you wrote "No one thinks what it's like to be the other guy, they just try to get rid of them." A fine explanation of why so many in the public eye were critical of this film and downrated it. They didn't want to be forced to look on the results of their society.
Joker is a terrifying villain. Because of how he can just suddenly pop into existence unlike any other villains out there, he can be real and that's what terrifies us. But the true dread lies in the quote " All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy. That's how far the world is from where I am. Just one bad day. " - Alan Moore
Reflection is key in a world which contains nearly none. Unfortunately, most of humanity cannot see beyond the physical version of it. Yet the other three mirrors (mental, psychological, and spiritual) are of far greater importance for all individuals to confront. "Before I start, I must see my end. Destination known, my mind's journey now begins. Upon my chariot, heart and soul's fate revealed. In Time, all points converge: hope's strength, resteeled. But to earn final peace at the Universe's endless refrain, we must see all in nothingness... before we start again." 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨ --Diamond Dragons (series)
The real terror comes from the fact that The Joker doesn't care about money, material things, or wealth. He exists simply to destroy everything and everyone around him. No method to his madness. No ultimate plan or scheme of things. Just destruction. You can't reason with him. You can't talk things out. He's beyond redemption. Literally nothing matters.
I feel at times that even though we fight each other we fail to realize how we’re being divided as to continue this conflict and not focus on the true group who is pulling the strings. They divide us so we are too busy killing and harming each other to ever focus on them.
They don’t need to divide us: we are perfectly capable of this without encouragement. They do allow our baser instincts (tribalism, hedonism, egotism … ) to flourish by exploiting them for true power wealth or status

People who hated the film, didn’t understand what it was going for. It was portraying a deep mental struggle with a need for acceptance and stability in society. This takes Arthur down a path of no return into that of a figure that criminals in Gotham respect and worship. This video took such a deep approach and it resonates with me.
Exactly, people often judge what they do not understand. You’re one of those people who think liking/disliking a fictional film divide you and me. The problem isn’t understanding, it’s the outcome and I was right. Your misinterpretation makes you think you know better than others just ‘cause they disagree with you about a FUKKING CLOWN ! the director slapped the joker label on the movie just to get asses in the seats. Because you wont go see a movie called "arthur dent a man who giggles when he's feeling bad"
I think a lot of people hated the film because it just used the Joker brand name it get a wider draw. Also it was basically a remake of an old movie that pretty much had the same plot but nothing to do with Joker. Overall the fill was decent and good portrayal of the down trodden suffering, combined with a bit of mental struggles. But as an Origin for Joker it was trash, The Dark Knight with Heath Ledger was much better as the Joker doesn't have a cause, as Alford put it "Some men just wanna watch the world burn.". The Real Joker does what he does because it's fun to him, not because he feels wronged by society. And that is what makes him so terrifying, as someone who has been wrong can potential be reasoned with or convince you are on their side. Where as someone who would light you on fire just to hear you scream, or cut you up and feed you to your dog on a whim can not be reasoned with. Sure you might be able to delay them by promising something in the moment but there is no guarantee after they are done with that they won't turn around and off you then and there.
The sad thing is that most people nowadays identify more with the villains than they do with the heroes, that's the mark of a falling society, the heroes are almost bizarre, why do they care so much about absolute strangers, most people can't even wrap their heads around that concept so they cannot connect or relate with the heroes at all
I cried the moment I saw Joker dancing on the stairs passionately because that's probably the only positive thing he ever does in the movie and he's trying to convince himself that he's not a bad person.
I disagree about the "not having goals" part. Arthur clearly has a goal: He wants to be a succesful comedian, who is adored by other people. So it's less about not having a goal, but rather about constantly being told and shown that his goal is impossible for him to reach. Another thing about him and the society of gotham is that it plays with his hopes and desires and makes him think that he may be able to finally get something good just to be disappointed.
Indeed, you dont need a goal to be happy or fulfilled. However, you need a purpose and that can be found through a goal or shared by any of your qualities living today. Arthur has neither and is desperate for what he cant have, but knows not how to get it.
well, there's the problem. his goal isn't possible for him. he seems to be very poor at social interaction (based on this video, i haven't seen the movie, i have read plenty of batman comics though) and that's not going to get you a career in any sort of entertainment. acting like this narcisstic failure is some sort of secret hero is ridiculous.
@@perfectallycromulent If you havent watched the movie, i'll spoil it for you. Not even Arthur himself condones the killings he is involved in. He revels in them to a degree but doesnt think it heroic. Otherwise you nailed it.
@@perfectallycromulent He definitely isn't a hero and I never got the impression that he sees himself as one. I think he rather sees himself as a victim of the system and the society he lives in and about that he's pretty much correct. For the most time in the movie he tries to do better and to be someone who can fit in, but he never succeeds and its practically never because of something that would be in his control. I'm going to be honest. Joker 2019 is one of a handful of pieces of media I CAN NOT rewatch. Not because it isn't a masterpiece, but because this mirror of the world hurts more than the look in the mirror hurts a 500 lb fat activist full of self-hatred.
Really? 1:20 minutes in and I'm already checked out. Arthur is a down on his luck white man and the only reason this video exists is because this white man making the video views cracks of society when it harms people like him. Society already crumbled for the kids who were beating him up. Maybe they should've fixed it from that stage.
I know I'm not the only one who related to Arthur to the point where it hurt like hell to watch. After I saw this movie I started to spiral downwards quickly. Went through a dark time for a while and I struggled deeply. I decided that I needed to change the way I see myself and it helped. It still hurts but I learned to cope instead of snap. I came close to ending my life during this time. Thing is that if I didn't go through that I wouldn't have rediscovered a connection with God and a deeper understanding of myself. I love myself more now as a result. Sometimes we have to die in order to be born.
Try the memoir by Marsha Linehan, ‘Building a Life Worth Living’, she invented many therapy techniques. I hope for you. I also related to Arthur, and it was painful to watch.

At this point it's become pretty obvious that society has been deliberately pushed this direction. I sincerely doubt it will change course before the worst happens. That's the scariest part about Joker's message: even if you can see the problems, as one person you'll almost always find yourself with more power to shove society toward destruction rather than save it.
It is beyond obvious to anyone with eyes to see. It is also beyond obvious what group this is. But no, if you call out the top power in the world, the one that controls all the banks of all nations, then you are a 'conspiracy theorist' or an anti-Semite. It is all so laughable

Joker is already happening. The BurnLootMurder riots showed the people that they can do what they want in masses. The ever ongoing looting gangs in california are a symptom of crime-economy. Now put it together. Once a statewide militia introduces a lawless zone, the crime economy will prosper and ruin the entire state. It happened in Donbass in 2014 until the new government took firm grasp and it can happen in the US.
Well if you think about it though destruction is needed so a new creation can take place. This society is beyond saving and needs destruction. You can't leave it up to the elites to "save" society as they won't.
The scary part of Joker is we see ourselves in him. I think it goes "When growing up you wish to be Batman but when you're grown up you see Joker was right."
No wonder social media and mainstream media tried to tear down this movie, it's because this movie dared to speak the truth about how corrupted everything is.
I knew there was a reason why, for me, this was one of the best films of the last 20 years. Of course the "professional critics" hated it, it wasn't meant for them. It must be sheer hell to be living in a huge city surrounded by thousands of people, yet feeling utterly alone.
In a society that treats one as an idiot whose only value lies in 'consuming', a society where the government lies about anything of any consequence, a society where murder is accepted so long as it doesn't impede corporate profit, what makes such a society worth saving?

It's really menacing how this pattern of behavior seems to be rather persistent throughout history; that when a person feels that they have been inexcusably ostracized by the rest of society, they tend to take unimaginable actions. She went through a lot misery. Her hard work was never recognized by her higher ups. She had cancer in one of her ovaries and was given a few months to try and have kids before it's surgically removed, and then when she realized that the man she loved and wanted to have kids with did not share the same feelings toward her, she fell into despair and eventually ended her own life.
Only old data from 2019-2020 in Britain was that the highest demographic by far was white men aged between 18-50 with a suicide rate of over 80 per week. I only knew about that at the time because some university ’dieversity officer’ woman took a picture of herself holding the statistics up in print while rubbing a fist under her eye as if mockingly sobbing and wiping away tears. So many men want nothing to do with feminism because the modern version of it is often either out to get them or out to erase them. In a society with both women and men that's only going hurt people. And then the same movement meant to free women is telling them that they are better than men just for being women, which in the reverse tells men they're worse just for being men. There's no empathy in that. If you're going to step on someone and push them down to raise yourself you're not actually lifting yourself up. You're just trading places. I think of it like this. Women want every one to care about things like sexual assault and domestic violence. These affect women more but men suffer from them too, so the right thing to do is to support all victims, help all victims, while acknowledging that the majority of of cases will be women. Then we can look at why women tend to be more affected and address that. Likewise, men commit suicide more. Of course women kill themselves too and it's important that these lives be equally valued. However, the majority of suicides are men and it is important to acknowledge that so we can then work to address the issues behind it. Just like in the previous issue it doesn't hurt men to put special focus on women, it doesn't hurt women to put special focus on men here. But it hurts everyone to mock male suicides because society has primed up to only acknowledge female suffering. Sorry for the novel legnth rant but when I first became aware of the number of men who kill themselves every year I was stunned, sickened, and heartbroken. In the past ten years I've had four male friends kill themselves. None of my female friends have done so. And yet time after time, this plague of suicidal ideation in young men is either belittled or ascribed to "men's toxic masculinity." No, it's because in a world that is trying to pave the way for women to have a meaningful place in it, men are being forgotten and left feeling purposeless and abandoned. Something needs to change, and I'm tired of everytime this is brought up hearing, "well then men can deal with it," because just like women's issues require the participation of everyone, men's do too. Young girls are not doing well; young boys are doing even worse. Something needs to happen and soon, because we're looking at a generation of young men lost and hopeless and it's only going to get worse.
Wonderful breakdown. I was reasonably fortunate in school and life that followed. Yet, as I grew older I peeled myself away from my fake friends and found true friendship with a guy I went to school with, a guy that everyone else had dismissed and kicked to the curb. He's been my best friend for more than 15 yrs now. Don't overlook people for the more popular ones, because the "popular" people are usually fake and shallow.

You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can't be any large-scale revolution until there's a personal revolution, on an individual level. It's got to happen inside first.” - Jim Morrison
So, freedom to act on impulse at the expense of others. Mhmm. Funny considering you're quoting a guy that never really had to work or sacrifice, lived in hedonism, died before he even really matured and understood what life was really about--making choices that aren't easy. Shut up, lmao.

I found it ironic how everyone in the cinema was quiet when the guys on the train were killed. But everyone was laughing when the small guy couldn't get out the door
As someone who lived half my life before social media and half after, it seems clear to me that social media is destroying society by making all of the points in this video worse. It was not like this before social media. And if the metaverse or virtual reality becomes as big as I think, it will get even worse
Absolutely. More people are getting sucked in to that little bit of dopamine they get from TikTok, and then the algorithm gives them a violent outlet for their other pain. This is not what a healthy society does, or how it treats its population. What we have is a failed system and too many people that just don’t care anymore.
There are much deeper things causing this than technological advancement. For some reason our society today seems to think it's different from the ones in our history books, just because we have more advanced technology. The reality is that from a societal point of view we are nearly a mirror image of the Roman Republic or any one of dozens of similar civilizations that fell just like was described in the video. In Rome's case, this sort of thing happened and in large part led to the crumbling of their Republic and the formation of the Roman Empire. Desperate young men look up to strong leaders and that is still the case today. Social media is simply streamlining (very efficiently) the process that's already been happening since the 70's.

No, that's the first step to being a psychopath. You should care what people around you think, but use judgment to pursue or not. Would it make you happy if you did something a loved one was embarrassed by? Of course not. Consideration of societal values is necessary. For example, if you visited a family in the Philippines and they took you in and housed you and took care of you, then on the day you leave they make Balut. Knowing that rejecting it is a sign of great disrespect, would you eat it?
A realistic look at Batman we get with Bale. A realistic look at Joker we get with Phoenix. This is a long way from West, Nicholson and Keaton. I like it.
This movie reminded me of the time when Marilyn Manson was accused of being a driving force behind Columbine by everyone, ranging from mass media to the very US Congress. So he got asked for a documentary, Bowling for Columbine, what he would've told the Columbine shooters had he had the chance. He simply responded "I wouldn't say a single word to them. I would listen to what they had to say, and that's what no one did"
Yes, I'm sure listening to psychopaths would change everything. So fcking dumb. Those two losers murdered a bunch of kids, their peers, in absolute terror and cold blood Doing something like that is pure evil, and 'listening" doesn't change that. They thought they were wronged..... so they commit a wrong 10000000 times worse
Nice connection. I was a bullied kid and Columbine happened at the height of my troubles in school. I liked him before, but the way he responded to that incident turned him into a personal hero of mine. He's been trying to warn us of the rot since the early 90's.
I remember seeing this in 2019. No movie has ever hit me as being quite so ominous as Joker. An important film, a masterpiece, and a harbinger of what is to come.
Yeah I remember, when this movie was comming out and it felt very weird for me with street clown who for some reason starts big riot. In the start of the movie. The teenager boys didnt beat him up, because they hated him or he deserved it. They just saw that its cloudy booring day and then spotted this stupid clown holding sign and jumping around and naturally people can get bit annoyed, if everybody are just boored in typically cloudy day and one person is trying to act very happy, so thats how the five teenagers thoughts there, that lets beat the shite out of this stupid clown, so he can stop acting in this so annoying way, when they didnt even know the clown, so didnt hate him or think he deserves it, when just did it for their own enjoyment, so this clown can stop being so focking annoying, so I dont understand how Joker self image comes from other people, when your self image always comes from yourself. They just beat you up, because you were annoying for their own enjoyment, while you didnt deserve it. Joker also says that, if he was dead in the sidewalk, nobody would care about him. Of course not, when he is just random clown they dont even know, when they got their own problems in their own depressed life, so thats why. Joker also wonders why his life is so meaningless and the fact is, that he does job where he cant show much of his creativity or passion, so of course he got depressed mood then and thats how its harder to make friends then, when getting better job and doing great work there would make others appreciate your work and then make you more easily to be able to get friends, but his life is preatty typical with nothing special in it, so thats why people just dont much care about his booring life or care about him as person.
If you try live like robot and you have not much speciality in your life, when you dont like your work. Then your life will become preatty meaningless.
I wonder if it’s a coincidence that active shooter incidents and gun homocides, and in general just crazy criminal acts have spiked since 2019. Not trynna blame joker, but society really is spiraling downwards

Zod the part about "the idea of her and safety" hit hard, man. It's scary how real this is... especially for someone who may have mental health problems. Like the comments here, i'll also add that this movie warns rather than glorifying. This movie warns what society could make out of a very broken person. And then blame the person for being bad.
The person is responsible for their actions, you f00l. Society never killed him, yet he killed others. Ergo, he obviously is to blame and did far worse than whatever was done to him. And 'society' holds no blame; only individuals are responsible
@@manfrombritain6816 You fail to understand a critical compenent. You DON'T OWE society anything. There's no such thing as heaven and hell. This makes suicide terrorism just another life-style choice. It's a disease, but one society can cure, not the individual. So adapt or die.

Speaking of the movie itself, when Joker says "If it was me dying on the sidewalk you'd walk right over me." i think that was Joaquin Phoenix's nod to his brother River's death. He died on the sidewalk from drug overdose at the Viper Room, and most people there didnt know who he was because he had dyed his hair. Joaquin was there and made a frantic 911 call.

@Darryl Grimes The "Disneyland concept of Romantic Love" is not really something they started. It was heavily pushed by the Diamond industry as a way to "show your love, since diamonds are forever", as most people don't realize how far back this marketing scheme goes and their Diamond Monopoly to sell massively over priced rocks that are not actually that rare at inflated prices. It's why it cost a ton to buy a Diamond and nearly impossible to get a fraction of the money back when selling it. Because their value is pure hype. Marriage is and always has been a business arrangement. You got whiny people trying to say how woman had no say in who they marry but neither did men. The majority of arranged marriages were just that, "ARRANGED BY OTHER PEOPLE" with neither person having any say. Back before our modern economy most businesses were family businesses with trades that were handed down over generations. Marriages were more like corporate mergers or trade deals. So the new couple were expect to carry on the business as their way of earning a living. And just like businesses of today those businesses did their own form of lobbying to ensure they got favorable treatment such as tax breaks. While society as a whole often viewed this as a good thing since you need people making more people to continue a society and raising those people from birth is expensive. If it wasn't for all the legal and economic benefits of being a married couple I doubt there would be such an uproar from those who are not allowed to "legally" get married. When I was younger and would hear such issues I would think, "WTF does it matter? If I loved someone who gives a F what other people say. We'd live together and be happy." But then I learned the truth, it like so many other things is about the money. They complain about the various benefits such as tax breaks that having that legal document gives them. So it's not a they can't be together issue, it's a they can't get all these benefits. The romantic love concept I think was already well in the public mindset and disney just capitalized on it by rewriting tons of old stories to where "true love" prevails. The little mermaid is a great example of this as the original story the guy rejects her and she ends up alone in a foreign land unable to return to the sea. Many of the old stories were about how unforgiving the world is and chases after fleeting fantasies like love would lead to tragedy. As well as things like the grass is not greener on the other side. The stories were meant to prepare people for the harsh world when they grew up and went out into it. Where as no a days even though Disney didn't start the tread they just were the best to capitalize on it people get sanitized stories about how true love will prevail, or following your dreams will always lead to success, and so on. People grow up on these stories and then get a slap across the face when they grow up and discover how cut throat the real world is. Combined with out there in the real world those things often don't work out. The little mermaid is basically a stalker who thinks if she changes her looks the person she is obsessed with will fall for her. Changing the story so she is right sends a horrible message as it says not only do you need to mutilate your body for the person you love to love you but doing so will guarantee everything works out in the end. And people wander where the vain mindset of curtain people today comes from. When you actually start thinking about the message in some of these stories it's quite a telling mindset. It also becomes clear how it warps people's world view to one of entitlement. The stories are seemingly innocent until you actually start analyzing them. Though it's nothing new as people complaining about the erosion of our society it's obvious they haven't been paying attention as the rewriting of history and myths to fit a current day shifting morality is nothing new. It's been going on for a long time now and just like China's one child policy the effects are extremely delayed. Going back I'd say it probably all started around the time of the Industrial revolution as large non-family oriented companies started to take center stage. You still obviously need people to make more workers and people tend to have a natural drive to get it on. So the stories shifted from stay were you are the world is dangerous to follow your passion with stories of romantic love. As stories of love gave people a sense of them doing the right thing, rather than that initial high of chemicals the brain tends to release for the first few years when you "fall in love" with someone. Once their brain stops producing that high it's why a lot of people's relations break up after a few good years, because it was built on that high and not much else. Hence it was lust not love. It's like the old say, "The straw that broke the camels back." This is playing out today as a case of small changes over decades, and even centuries, building up as small concessions give way to larger ones. People in the past pointing out the slippery slope we were headed down were often dismissed as exaggerated alarmist. While in some cases they were in others they were not. And it's often hard to predict the future so you often can't know which warnings are true and which are not until after it's to late to do anything besides deal with the aftermath. For a potentially frightening look at our future I recommend looking into the Rat Utopia. It was an experiment to see what would happen if they created a Utopia for rats with tons of space with plenty of free food and water so they would want for nothing. The results were disastrous as the rats basically abandon their young, engaged in self mutilation, and generally became dysfunctional. The rats had plenty of space too as the researchers expected the population to grow several times larger than it did when it became dysfunctional and stopped growing. The rats basically collapsed as their population stop having kids. And trying to move some of the rats into a new enclosure didn't change their behavior. Essensionally it was a self inflected extinction. The experiment was even run a second time to make sure it was not a fluke and the results were the same. It was discontinued as ironically rat "Utopia" was considered to be cruel. Yet people basically wanna do the same thing for humans.
@@PyroMancer2k Wish I could like this a couple of time. A spot on description of it. Great observation mate. The breakdown is crazy. I love the way you put it. Good things will be replaced by nasty things. There will be no space for individuality or emotions or being real. Everything will be fake and toxic in the near future. After destroying Mother Nature, wasting resources, killing animals to the point they go extinct, fighting amongst ourselves, mocking people for being different, oppressing people just because we can, turning everything into a business, committing horrible crimes and sins (and in some cases using all the power you have to either eliminate resistance (in this case consequences that you deserve) or buying every single person that is responsible for serving justice and to mete out punishment and still sleeping like a baby even after doing horrible things), seeing everything as a transaction, using and abusing people as much as we can, destroying every single system and group that was meant to work for us (law enforcement, justice, government, school, marriage, family friends), being selfish and greedy to the point where we don't hesitate to harm or in some cases even kill people to get what we want, lying and breaking everyone's trust, using our power to bully or boss over people, harming our loved ones and taking them for granted, (disrespecting, mocking and in some cases even abusing everyone around), trying to control people. I guess there is nowhere to go from here. I guess it ends with us killing ourselves. The last things we can harm. The only thing left to destroy will be ourselves and the process commenced a long long time ago and a lot of people don't even notice it and won't be noticing it anytime soon. ‼️In my opinion because of incel culture and other male groups growing due to society treating them badly and treating them like outcasts they will continue to grow and continue to lash out. Men commit over 80% of all suicides in the United States every single year and that number is only growing. Eventually they're going to stop hurting themselves and start hurting society. If you noticed when the joker came out all of the news stations were like worrying and saying there was going to be a mass sh"*ting at a Joker showing because so many men were fans of it. Which is f****** stupid because John wick is way more violent but they didn't think any of those fans were going to sh**t up a theater. If society continues to demonize these men they will eventually lash out en masse and probably start a revolution. If you kick a dog enough you shouldn't be surprised when it turns around and mauls you to death.

if you see the point in this that triggers you, then you are one up on the Joker .... to the joker this is all daily normality ading heat and pressure to the pressure cooker, you on the other hand can at least find ways to release that pressure, through hopefully non illegal means, even though now some of these relief tactics (being a gamer for instance) are seen as a route to normalisation, theyre often a sign that people are sick of society, and were a complete bonus at the start of lockdowns as gamers were already quite happy being told they didnt and couldnt go anywhere .....
To say that I'm an isolated lonely man would be an understatement. I've always felt ostracized by my peers and beaten down by the fake doctrine of social "normality", while never understanding why everyone has to put on a mask to fit in. I'm 30 years old and have had practically no friends since the age of 12. Watching Joker, I really resonated with Arthur's character. But there was one important lesson I learned from the film: Don't blame society for your problems. You may be lonely and depressed, sinking into a state of hopeless nihilism, but it's ultimately up to you to change that. This is YOUR life. It is what you make it. You can choose to be a white sheep, a blind follower who has no mind of their own, or to be cast aside by the masses as the black sheep - one who sees the truth and as a result lives in loneliness and resentment. Those are your options. It is what it is. Pick wisely.

The movie the Joker made me feel less alone. I have friends and family but I still feel alone. I see far too much and society destroys my will to want to live. Society has become so individualistic and it’s heart breaking. People are so rude and entitled now a days and that makes me feel alone.
Hang in there man, we can all feel something huge coming, things can't go on this way much longer, things will change rapidly and in ways we can't imagine, the alternative is so much more worse
This was off the scale brilliant. Incredibly sad, depressing, and true. If we as a society ignore this, or worse, deny it, we sow the bitter seeds of our own destruction. And all of this can be avoided by becoming more loving, more interested, and more human to those who don’t know how to connect with others to allay their feelings of isolation, loneliness, and self-loathing. I for one will begin today to be more aware, less rejecting, and more loving to the unloved. Thank you for this video.
Isn't it ironic that movies seem to be more real than real life? I've been saying it forever movies, books, and songs all seem more real (to me). As a man with autism, I’ve struggled to find my own community; both from my own flaws and those of society at large. And since I graduated college last year, that struggle only got harder with me trying to make something out of my mass communication/film degree. But I do have a good group of friends and family, a goal I want to complete and the awareness to improve myself. (And the lack of an only fans account. Thank God) I deeply sympathize with Arthur here, but I’m glad I was able to recognize the signs and not end up like him. Of course, I also wonder What can be done to prevent the reality of the joker from happening.
I have autism too and have one good friend wich also is my boyfriend(also autism) but i haven’t found any good friends yet… still searching… i felt the movie because it wasn’t easy for me too, also of the autism, i was acting weird and everybody was against me because i was different, and you can say whatever you want but nobody listens to you, like joker did, (but joker had it possibly real harder than me)
i also have autism and am freshly out of a 6+year relationship that i feel like i have sabotaged with my flaws. my fear of becoming more and more lonely is bigger than ever because even though she loved me almost unconditionally i feel like ive ruined everything and i am scared that my flaws that brought me here wont go away even through self improvement. I am lucky to have genuine friends helping me through this but i worry that life will lead us further apart as we all get older.
This video was insanely well made! The editing was magnificent, and the retelling of Joker's storyline mixed with the parallels with modern society kept me on the edge of my seat!

This movie is one of the greatest of our time. A theatre masterpiece. But humanity's relationship with the truth and reflection has always been complicated.
I'm a female but I completely understand this film. It was extremely hard for me to get through it. I wasn't pampered, I wasn't daddy's girl, I was treated like a pest. I like menly things and I don't think like chicks around me. I'm very lonely and unloved my whole live. Mother was neglectful and hateful (she's a vulnerable narcissist), father mostly wasn't around but when he was, he was hateful towards me too. I was trying hard to find at least a friend but I wasn't capable. Guys didn't want to be friends with me and chicks were hateful and dismissing (I didn't fit in even when I tried). I've more in common with you guys than with women. Including the suffering. Father treated me like a whore even when I was a small kid and didn't know anything about those stuff, just knew the meaning of the word. Guys I dated treated me like a sperm bag and a weirdo. I let them because I didn't want to be alone. I know I will never find a friend or a significant other and reading how many of you guys are misunderstood and lonely breaks my heart because I understand you (I never had any privileges from being a female, like other chicks had). I know there's a lot of good guys out there. And a lot of chicks are evil, if not all, I know it first hand (nobody was ever as hurtful towards me as women). BTW, I've huge anxiety around women, so there's another thing I have in common with (some) men. Take care of yourselves, guys. I wish you all the best. Don't give up, everything can happen, tomorrow you may meet someone who'll change your lives. Don't be too picky though, a friend is better than a bitch.
It's irony that younger generations are being labelled as narcissistic. However I see that many parents are no different. Just plainly neglecting the kids and only seeing them as their own extension. Grew up with mentally ill mom and narcissistic father put me through hell and it's from where the feeling of not fitting in and being 'weird' comes from. I'm rooting for you and hope that you will be able to find someone that appreciate you.
I completely understand you and every word stated. I'm a female as well.. this movie resonated with me deeply.. so did your comment. For whatever's it's worth, hang in there. You're not alone and you're a beautiful person for sharing. Thank you
I always thought I was some kind of an exception for someone hating himself, sad to hear that‘s not the case. Growing up I heard the phrase „You‘re responsible for what‘s happening to you.“ on a daily basis. But if you go through absolute shit several times and life does not stop knocking you down with every surprising unfortunate event it can think of.. you just stop caring about the pain, telling yourself you‘re responsible for it, and hence, become numb to feel real joy.

I never felt more lonely than when I was with a family who didn't appreciated all the work I did (inside and outside the house) and a wife who was cheating on me. When surrounded by people with little to no morals, sometimes being "actually alone" is better than being surrounded by people who make you feel alone and worthless; the latter almost caused me to Control, Alt, Delete myself.
Yes I know the feeling as well. Only difference is I have an amazing wife that won’t let me self isolate and control, alt, delete myself. She’s the only light in my darkness. It’s a lot to put on her and makes me feel even worse at times. Because after always being trash, you feel like a serious burden to someone so….. Idk. Angelic? Idk. I apologize. I have a hard time describing my thoughts some times
I hope you left her. Normally you cut out the diseased parts. But sometimes the entire thing is so rotten down to its core it's better to just start over. I've done it. And honestly I experienced probably the worst possible outcome after doing so. I never found anyone else to replace them. But what's insane is that it's actually not bad. It's far better than what things were like before by a very large margin.
Yes, There are female loners in society as I have seen some of them that have TH-cam channels. Some of them are loners by their own choice and some of them just have a hard time making or keeping friends. Since most people don't seem to really care about you unless you can either help them or do them a favor or benefit them in some way. Being alone is more peaceful and quiet and more calming and relaxing and it's more freeing in my opinion. But there are times when it's nice to be around some people but not all the time as I prefer my alone time more often.
I don’t think it was a case of not acknowledging that some women have been made extremely lonely and miserable too, it’s just that he was addressing a particularly serious concern about an overall disastrous situation that doesn’t really include women; not because you’re any less important or valuable because you _are_ - at least to me - but for one reason: It’s not really women who pose a significant threat in terms of violent revolution and even less in this instance as I don’t think there are any historical parallels that are quite like the current situation. ‘Revolution’I doesn’t mean the narcissistic college girl belligerents at woke antifa riots either where there there’s huge contingents of riot police for them to hurl abuse at while the latter keep them and the rioting hooligans safe and I only say that because although many people know what a revolution is, they often underestimate exactly what it truly means and use the word somewhat lightly. I mean very ugly social upheavals across the West the governments cannot prevent or stop - mass panic, a lot of people getting killed - and likely will be forced to deploy the military. I would feel some trepidation and fear amongst a range of other emotions when something like this does erupt, and I’m a physically fit and strong man in my mid thirties and no stranger to difficulties, hardship and confrontation, but the likes I described before will be absolutely terrified. In such a situation most women and a lot of _men_ will be, too. Look at history to when these happened; when they finally erupt, they do so very quickly and and with a brutal savagery that eventually becomes a painful tragedy that could have been avoided. If they genuinely decided to reach out to the men and bring them back into the warmth, then our women who are also suffering in silence could be brought back into the warmth too. I wish you the best and hope you find some love and comfort in this world. :)
I'm a male nerd who is fascinated with anything Star Wars, Marvel, DC, etc, etc. Do I get any respect for that? From a tiny amount of people, yes. The rest? They don't even acknowledge me. When I tripped on a stair and nearly busted my leg, what did everyone do? I'll give you three guesses.
They should. I graduated high school right before Columbine. I was severely bullied from elementary school to halfway thru my senior year. Fortunately, I had good parents and strong religious beliefs that helped me cope. Even then, I had many elaborate revenge fantasies but I never would carry those out, due to not wanting to embarrass my parents or God. I shudder to think what would have happened if I didn't have those things. Once I was reading about the Spanish Inquisition for History Class in Study Hall and one of the other kids asked me what I was reading and I loudly said "how to kill people" and I'd pantomime shooting other kids in Gym Class. I think some of the more moderate bullies realize what was going on and started sticking up for me. I remember one telling another one to leave me alone because 12 years of pent up frustration and anger might lead to a very mean beat down. Then a year or two later, two other bullied kids show Colombine how they felt
Sometimes I think the scariest thing we can do is admit that we relate to some of the most evil and twisted minds. Just like Dostoyevsky said "we are not that far from the people we hate or dislike, in them is some amount of us and in us is some amount of them." I'm a woman and though this video directly addresses men, I should also be taken into consideration that most women feel like this too.
What I find crazy is that many males believe women live in some fantasy world where we all are taken care of, have to fear nothing, want for nothing, have friends and family and protection. It is strange how they think only males are suffering in society , and that their suffering is much worse. They believe that women should not speak out on their suffering and that women should just accept that they should suffer. They believe male suffering is the only thing that matters and that should be changed. Women need to really pay attention to this. Really see it for what it is. They keep repeating that males are the ones suffering. What can we expect to happen when we have delusional males that believe they are the only victims ? Men and women felt sad and could relate to the joker. He tried very hard to survive . But he could only take so much mentally. I believe that men and women both feel this sad, depressing desperation in everyday life and our current society.
We think that we're light years away from the pair starving homeless people in the streets. The truth is it's a miniscule amount to become those very same people that we resent and treat like garbage
I remember in 2019, I told my friends that I had this theory that Joker predicts the future. And I guess I'm not the only one who thought that. They thought I was a crazed man at first, now look how this world has become.
For many people, the world was already like that of this movie. It didn't predict anything as much as acknowledge things that already exist, but have been introduced to more people on a long enough time line.
Joker was reflecting existing trends and was a commentary on them. For people not to see that then illustrates they are part of the problem. We could where the source of the problem was coming from if you paid more than 5 minutes of attention and turned off the MSM.
Not to be rude but that's not exactly insightful. It doesn't really predict the future, it depicts modern day society. Nothing was predicted here, just observed and analyzed.
I can't believe I'm one of these jerks who's alone like this. No one to talk to, can't even talk to my neighbors and women here will either ignore u or just don't care about who you are. This is why I'm still single and alone but I got so use to it now I don't care anymore.
The thing is its ok to be upset about these things, but u have to keep fighting and searching for someone to love, some men use poor circumstances as an excuse to be hateful, u just need to power through, thats what im doing anyway
I had to watch this video in bits over a few weeks because of how terrifying the analysis is and how much dread I feel in the pit of my stomach as someone who knows exactly what this video is talking about and the terrifying future we are headed toward.

4 stages of how modern society collapses:
1. Lack of social cohesion 0:22 - everyone witnessing Arthur's mistreatment either ignores it or willingly looks away -> compounds into a hatred of oneself (e.g. The Looking Glass Self) + no connection to the people at work, home, or people around him.
2. Mass resentment 4:45 - resentment felt by the men in society who have been put down and rejected can be brought from things such as:
- Loneliness. For ex, Arthur has no good social relations and communication in the movie. (i.e. Arthur's ineffective therapy sessions and no one to communicate his feelings/thoughts to, except for his fantasy of his interactions with Sophie.)
- No higher purposes or goals.

That's a fair point.

Joker is a terrifying villain.
Because of how he can just suddenly pop into existence unlike any other villains out there, he can be real and that's what terrifies us.

The real terror comes from the fact that The Joker doesn't care about money, material things, or wealth. He exists simply to destroy everything and everyone around him. No method to his madness. Exactly. They divide us. Everyone would be doing much better if more people realized this !!! People please wake up

You’re one of those people who think liking/disliking a fictional film divide you and me. the director slapped the joker label on the movie just to get asses in the seats.
The sad thing is that most people nowadays identify more with the villains than they do with the heroes, that's the mark of a falling society, the heroes are almost bizarre, why do they care so much about absolute strangers, most people can't even wrap their heads around that concept so they cannot connect or relate with the heroes at all
Now this is food for thought.
Where we are going we won't need heroes, we need a monster.
that's actually a really good point damn
Because the heroes support the system that has failed them. Look the FBI--such heroes.
The "heroes" often turn out to be the villains, and the "villains" the heroes. In this topsy-turvy world nothing is as it seems.
At this point it's become pretty obvious that society has been deliberately pushed this direction. I sincerely doubt it will change course before the worst happens.
Crazy that when it happened to a woman they made an entire movie about her. Anyone know where male self-delete statistics are at btw?
Only old data from 2019-2020 in Britain was that the highest demographic by far was white men aged between 18-50 with a suicide rate of over 80 per week.
I only knew about that at the time because some university ’dieversity officer’ woman took a picture of herself holding the statistics up in print while rubbing a fist under her eye as if mockingly sobbing and wiping away tears.
That cursed image got stuck and still lives rent free in my mind.
Recently I read that the statistics for the last year for the same demographic in the USA was over 33,000.
Horrifying.
@@ianjames1754 Whoah are you serious? That's disgusting and heartless. A more serious and disturbing side to the trend of making merchandise with "lol male tears" and stuff like that printed on them.
The thing is, I understand that women are angry about how only recently are we even able to own property, get a credit card, vote (100 years ago now) or make similar wages to men in the same fields. But trying to turn things around and dehumanizing men is not the answer. The moment that feminism stops being about equality and the uplifting of women *alongside* men and turns into uplifting women to the detriment of men is the moment it stops being a beneficial movement. Two wrongs don't make a right and it is appalling that some women would seek to hurt men and still somehow think they're better.
Yeah it hurts to think about inequality or not being taken seriously due to being a woman but lashing out isn't going to fix anything.
And yet time after time, this plague of suicidal ideation in young men is either belittled or ascribed to "men's toxic masculinity."
No, it's because in a world that is trying to pave the way for women to have a meaningful place in it, men are being forgotten and left feeling purposeless and abandoned.

Which is f****** stupid because John wick is way more violent but they didn't think any of those fans were going to sh**t up a theater.
The movie the Joker made me feel less alone. I have friends and family but I still feel alone. I see far too much and society destroys my will to want to live. Society has become so individualistic and it’s heart breaking. People are so rude and entitled now a days and that makes me feel alone.
That's deep "Society destroys my will to want to live". Well said I can relate.

If you're intelligent to catch it, they usually have messages for the masses. Everyone is caught in the here and now, money bitches hoes, money greed, and society's vices.

But to earn final peace at the Universe's endless refrain, we must see all in nothingness... before we start again."

I feel sorry for you. What about some hobbies or sport, through those activities you can find friend(s).
Keep being yourself.
Sending lots of love to you! ❤❤
I completely understand you and every word stated. I'm a female as well.. this movie resonated with me deeply.. so did your comment. For whatever's it's worth, hang in there. You're not alone and you're a beautiful person for sharing. Thank you
What hurts the most in this majestic masterpiece is that Arthur really tried to make things better.
Yeah basically where I am. Just waiting for my parents to pass away. Then I'm outta here myself if you catch my drift.
@@roderickcortez138 wtf thats the kind of thoughts ı've been having in these last years. like the only reason ı live is because my parents would be devastated if ı died, ı study in uni simply due to make them happy and live my life just trying to trick my brain to constantly dump dopamine and serotonin :P

"I'd rather feel lonely than isolated"
I know the feeling. I know that feeling very well. Keep going, kindred spirit, keep going
Never underestimate Alienation
The way Arthur’s voice broke when he said “I’ll tell you what you get” hit pretty hard for me.
As a loner female I connected with this character. There might be less of us, but we exist too.
Loner female here. I try to keep up with people but it seems I always choose the wrong ones.
Same here…
I think people of both sexes have been bearing the brunt of all this…
I don’t think it was a case of not acknowledging that some women have been made extremely lonely and miserable too, it’s just that he was addressing a particularly serious concern about an overall disastrous situation that doesn’t really include women; not because you’re any less important or valuable because you _are_ - at least to me - but for one reason:
It’s not really women who pose a significant threat in terms of violent revolution and even less in this instance as I don’t think there are any historical parallels that are quite like the current situation.
The meme where it talks about how kids start being nice to the quiet kid after watching joker is a lot more meaningful so to speak.
I'd be your friend if you want one.
Anyone is crazy when other people are scared of what they said
Joker was reflecting existing trends and was a commentary on them. For people not to see that then illustrates they are part of the problem. We could where the source of the problem was coming from if you paid more than 5 minutes of attention and turned off the MSM.
Is one of your friends a little person?
