    Nice jobb!
    Hate though that these videos always end when the painting is about to start.
    The before and after a paintjob is so satisfying to see.

    Glad I stuck with this 20 min video instead of a shorter one. Every bit of it was so necessary! The PDA and filler mixing was mesmerizing!

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills. I followed it to the T. Worked perfectly thanks to your video. Took me a week to complete and was completed with two coats of ceiling paint on Saturday January 27th 2024 The biggest job was dismantling the bed every day!

    Always greatly appreciate your work and attention to detail. For what it's worth, I prefer no music during the videos. Ambient sounds of productivity help to understand the process better, and your commentary is gold.

    Video is fantastic. I watch them nearly every time before I go to do a big plaster ceiling repair, which I’m doing today, and I can’t tell you how helpful this technique as well as many others that you’ve posted have been to me. Thanks so much, and please keep these videos coming.👍💪🍻

    Will you come over to my house and fix my ceiling for me? :). Ugh. You're so patient. That seems the tricky part with all of this... just taking your time to get it done right.

    Excellent video, with good detail and very well explained. I'm working on my 1910 Federation cottage with Lath and Plaster walls and ceilings). Just a couple of questions, if I may.
    1) Any suggestion of the mixing ratio for the PVA and water spray? I made a mix and sprayed the racked out cracks, but the dust still wants to crumble out once it dries.
    2) I'm in Australia, and you can't buy Dulux Easycare paint here. Can I use any ceiling/wall paint mixed in with the filler to avoid having to prime over the filler before painting.
    Thanks heaps for sharing your extensive knowledge mate.
    Cheers Andy 👍

    I watched this video with interest as I am having issues with surface cracks in plasterboard in my conservatory. I’ve tried this method to fix them, but even before I’ve managed to get the surface painted hairline cracks are once again appearing. The only thing I’ve done differently to your method is I didn’t use the Soudal gap filling foam, instead I’ve used Screwfix foam which I already had. The plasterboard is fitted in a south facing conservatory, so it is affected by large changes in temperature and I think this could be the issue. Is there anything else you would recommend, or do you think the Soudal foam will make all the difference?

    • @gypsygem9395
      @gypsygem9395 ปีที่แล้ว

      From what I understand, the Screwfix (No Nonsense) foam is made by Soudal, so there would probably be no difference

    • @whyleycoyote69
      @whyleycoyote69 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gypsygem9395 Thanks Gypsy Gem, I appreciate your help. I was hoping this foam method would work for my issue. It seemed promising from the videos I've watched so far.

    • @darrenpaulgreen
      @darrenpaulgreen ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve had this issue previously and overcame it by using plasterers mesh tape over the cracks and filling over the tape with a few layers of this filler working out to about 8” wide. This blends in the slightly higher level of filler over the crack. Laborious but does work. Effectively you’re doing what a dry liner would do on a ceiling.

    • @whyleycoyote69
      @whyleycoyote69 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@darrenpaulgreen Thanks Darren, I've tried scrim tape as well, but I've still got the cracks. I'm wondering if it's the high changes in temperature that could be causing this, or the plasterboard may not have enough dot & dab applied to the back of it. It's obviously moving far more than it should... Instead of just cracks now I've got the top layer of plaster popping off and I've re-done it again since my post above to Gypsy Gem.

    • @xboxgamer7453
      @xboxgamer7453 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@whyleycoyote69 Is there any play in the plasterboard that a few screws couldn't fix. Then have another go at putting scrim tape over the cracks. This ceiling he filled with foam is a Lath and Plaster ceiling. I'm about to try this method myself because my ceiling is also lath and plaster.

    Most Lath and Plaster ceilings are lime plaster, this looks like gypsum underneath the paint?

  • @jas.5695

    Trouble is your having to take more time to take out the crack more then needed to be able to get the foam inside. V it out and use a filler that can withstand movement plenty on the market.
