    What a brilliant set up my friend. Love the amp to bits, but the retro vibe goes to the Realistic speakers. Took me back to when I was 18 (44 years ago 😲) when I had a brilliant Realistic equaliser. Thank you for the tour. Jeff in the 🇬🇧

    The Pioneer PL-510s is one of the most underrated turntables ever. I bought mine at a Goodwill in 1998, and it's been my main turntable since. It's a tank. Hang on to that great old turntable! Great video, by the way.

    I have that exact same Pioneer turntable, my grandmother bought it new. I swapped it out for a technics because it’s got wonky speed control, I plan on getting it back in working order one of these days.

      Cap, thanks for the kind words regarding the music room. Yeah, I took some great pride in it because I spend so much time down here and I let it get out of control and cluttered for a while. The collection as a whole is so much more enjoyable when everything is in it's place, as it should be.

    Hey Billy,
    Room looks fantastic and loved seeing all the hidden gems 💎 throughout!
    Great to see so much vintage gear in turntables, receivers and of course my favorite the ever growing 8-tracks players and tapes. Very nice job on the entire job and definitely worth waiting to see, always nice to see a jukebox or in your case two in someone’s collection. Thanks for the tour buddy and allowing us in your home, looking forward to those updates especially the 8-tracks lol.
    Take care and talk soon.~ Jeff

      Hey Jeff, I knew you would pick up on the "hidden gems". LOL Don't we all have those "easter eggs" planted all over our listening areas? :) I'm glad you dug the 8-tracks, there is sooo much more 8-track love coming your way (hopefully soon). Those jukeboxes are nice, but sometimes a pain in my ass LOL Take care buddy.

    HOLY MUSIC ROOM BATMAN!! This looks fantastic! You really did a heck of a job in the setup on this. Looks absolutely killer. Great place to kick back, jam out, have a cold one and relax. Really awesome space and setup Billy. That is a big room (basement) to hold as much as it does... love the gear. The Pioneer turntable is a workhorse and the Marantz is absolutely beautiful! Yeah, CDs get heavy. I have 2 IKEA 4 drawer dressers with about 200 CDs per drawer and when I open them, the weight of the CDs pop the drawers off the track (every time). Definitely annoying and I never thought I'd have that problem... I feel your "pain". :-) Those jukeboxes are awesome! I've wanted to get one; I just don't know if I want another BIG thing in the house. Haha! My arcade cabinet is enough for right now. Curious about the jukeboxes, are they rough on your 45s? If I do get one, I'd like to populate it with a lot of "rare-ish" stuff; but that might not be a good idea if they're gonna get trashed... Nice grand tour! It looks awesome and I love the attention to detail! Everything is epic!

    • @BillyHurst
      @BillyHurst  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brad, thanks for stopping in and the comments about the music room. Yeah, it is a big space and I enjoy spending as much time there as I can. I hear what you're saying on the cd drawers being so heavy that they come off the hinges. I had some of those back in my 20's and I hated when that would happen! The jukeboxes are super cool and I am glad to have them, but they can be a major pain in the ass at times. LOL As far as the jukeboxes being rough on the 45's....well, I never really gave it much thought because I just loaded them down with more common classic country stuff, but I really don't think so. For the most part, if you keep everything fine tuned and have a technician stop by every year or two just to make sure general maintenance is being done (or you could do it yourself) I wouldn't see any reason to be too worried. I wouldn't put super rare or valuable 45's in there, but that's just me. Have a good weekend! Billy-

    • @BillyHurst
      @BillyHurst  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      sean jones those are actually the IKEA KALLAX units. I decided to go with all 2x2’s (4 squares per unit) for ease of moving and stability. These are the most stable stacking solution for vinyl unless you build something yourself. The cost on them is about $40 depending on where you’re located.

    Your love of music surrounds this room Billy. I really dig the stand-up storage cabs. They really add flavor to any music room. The jukeboxes are really nice too. Did you have the one on the left filled with country music? I personally feel that country is the only genre of music that sounds the best on a jukebox. You even have the 8-tracks represented.
    Just a beautiful room with loads of comfort. Thanks for sharing it all including the components~
    Rob/Boston
    My room is still in the building stages. I will show it as soon as it is complete. Say a prayer for us along the coast tonight, tomorrow and early Saturday. We got a nasty blockbuster storm coming in. Thanks Brother Billy~

    • @BillyHurst
      @BillyHurst  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rob, thank you so much for stopping by and for all of your kind words. The jukeboxes are cool, but can be a major pain in the ass sometimes. LOL yes, the one on the left is primarily filled with mostly country music. I completely agree with you....NOTHING sounds as good on an old jukebox as country music does (classic country in particular). The 8-track love/obsession is all due to Jeffery Rusnock. I don't know if I should thank him or cuss him!! LOL Take care, Billy-

    To straighten the cd shelves, starting from the bottom, remove a couple of cds in the middle of each shelf and slip in a bock of wood to prop up each shelf. No need to remove any other cds.Paint the new blocks of wood before putting them in position. I had the same problem and used my description above. It works well. Like the Channel. DODGERT

    Billy, is that a reference to George Jones "The Grand Tour"? Your space looks great. Maybe I will do a room tour, but I still need to figure out what to do with cassettes and 45s. I mentioned before I dumped all of my 8-tracks when I moved, which saved me a lot of space but many regrets when I see what you are doing with them. I even had some record store style shelves, like in your rock area, for flipping through albums instead of pulling from the shelf, but I tossed those, too. If I had been more aware of the VC I might have done things differently. At least I kept the vinyl! Thanks, Chris

    • @BillyHurst
      @BillyHurst  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chris, that is absolutely a reference to the George Jones song. LOL "Step right up....come on in." :) Thanks for the kind words on the room. It was a lot of hard work but it looks great and well worth it in the end. man, I wish you hadn't told me about dumping all your 8-tracks. :( Those 2 front facing record shelves are special to me. My Dad helped me make them a couple of years ago. I don't spend as much time with him as I should and he's not getting any younger or healthier. @BillyHurst  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hear what you're saying and even checked after you posted your comment and the looks are deceiving. The tape deck sitting on top of it is only half the depth of the Marantz and all of the cooling vents are fully accessible and open air can flow freely through the machine, but I do appreciate your concern and for bringing it to my attention. It’s short for Vinyl Community. Just a bunch of us who typically talk about vinyl records and albums, but we occasionally show cd’s, cassettes, 8-tracks...whatever.
