A lot of patience and time for sure! The only reason I haven't done more tapestry is the time investment, but I really hope to devote some time to it this year, it's just such a beautiful art form :)
@@KellyCasanova I subbed earlier today and now have 8 years worth of videos to watch, I’m looking forward to it, your videos look to be a wealth of information to a new weaver. I just bought an Ashford 16” Sample it loom after using a handmade cardboard loom, and two frame looms for the past couple of weeks for various practice. 😊
Wow this is pretty cool! I recently just got placed in a weaving class (even though I didn't choose it) and I was kind of annoyed but after watching this I'm pretty excited to see what I can create :)
Wonderful! This is more my speed. I just couldn't imagine doing a wall hanging on those looms where you have to thread in and out with a needle on every row. Would totally fry my brain lol. I love how you combined the techniques.
You can use a heddle on the other looms and shuttle through. I just figured that out myself. Much, much faster and easier. That being said I still want to add a rigid to my collection.
А не проще будет работать,если нить намотать,.напримр.на картон.Раньше так ткали половики,только стан конечно был большой и использовали что то типа челнока,нить наматывалась на челнок,легче было ее проталкивать между нитей основы.
This is a rigid heddle loom, I find it easier to use my fingers when doing tapestry. You can do this type of tapestry on a lap loom too, so the choice is yours. A simple frame loom is cheaper and takes up less space, but you can do a lot more on a rigid heddle loom.
You can do freestyle tapestry on the most basic of looms - a frame loom, even a piece of cardboard (as demonstrated in my "making a kid's loom" series) will work for this type of weaving :)
hi, I started my tapestry style project, and I have to say it looks better than I expected, maybe when my daughter comes down from college she can show me how to send a picture, I'm a touch dissappointed with myself the few times I started a new couple of rows, I didnt want to have them ull in, in doing so some are a little loose like over the thread loose like a loop! ugh., I dont want to take it out, i wont take it out, maybe you have some input on that? Also I have many loose threads where I've changed colors, I've tried the find one of your videos to show what to do with those threads? Hope I'm not messing it up, it looks incredible, I'm so happy! This is the 1st I heard about your son, on 1 video, I pray all is well, and I just got out of surgery today. So hope this makes sense, Thank you so much!
Avoiding loops at the edges is all about practice. Have you seen my video on weaving neat edges? That will help. Couple of options for joining in a new colour -th-cam.com/video/bKvdLV63HuY/w-d-xo.html. and th-cam.com/video/25moVtTDaI4/w-d-xo.html Hope those help. My son is doing really well, thanks for asking. I hope you recover quickly from your surgery!
Thank you very much, I'm trying to see how to send a picture to you, I'm not illiterate but this has me stumped, For now, I'd really like to show you the work. And yes I watched one not sure on the other, i'll check, thank you! I think I have you added to facebook now, it's all new to me :-(
Kelly? when you have a moment, I have no idea what time it is there, but I think I got 2 pictures to go on facebook. Not quite sure how I did it, I just don give too well. I'm hoping you got them.
@@KellyCasanova you completed in a few hours? i take a day to complete an origami mat... you really got a lot of patience, you know... I cant spend more than half an hour doing just one thing
For tapestry weaving, you need to pack the yarn right down to condense it and make a thick fabric. If you don't have a tapestry beater, a fork is a good alternative.
Thank you Kelly! I love your videos on weaving. I'm a beginner and they're helping a lot. You are a great teacher.
Great to hear, thanks for taking the time to comment :)

Ha quedado precioso. Muchas gracias por compartir su trabajo.
Gracias!
I have no idea how or weave or how I got here, but I love this anyways. It makes me want to start this up as a hobby :)
Then consider me your enabler and start weaving! :D
I know this is a very old video but wow!! Excellent, exciting work….Beautiful! 👍🏻♥️
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! 😊

I bet this piece made you smile while doing it. I know it would me. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Kimberly, it sure has been a fun piece, it's almost ready to come off the loom now :)
I really love those colors together! It's so pretty!
Thanks! It's a great stash buster.

Kelly just want to say thank you for sharing your knowledge.... i love your channel and has been so helpful in my new found rigid heddle weaving
Thank you Marian 💕

The beauty of weaving is there are so many varieties, so there is something to suit everyone. I'm glad you like this style, I hope you give it a go!

Congratulations, 1million views 🎉💥. You're the greatest 🤩
Thank you! 😀
Looking forward to watching you remove it from the loom. These tapestry videos are great! Thanks so much for sharing.

Very cool and informative. I've never seen anything like this actually explained. Thank you.
You're welcome!
very cool.i would never have thought of this but its so logical

Yes, you could definitely do that if you wanted to 😊
Use waste for tassels or stuffing cushions, or hand weaving very small projects. :)
Esplêndido ,maravilhoso ,belíssimo ,divino.
Gracias!

wow weaving is soo cool ✨✨
🥰
How do you keep yarn on hooks. I'm just starting and the yarn keeps coming off. What am I doing wrong?
Which hooks do you mean? This is a rigid heddle loom, so there are no hooks. Perhaps you are using a different kind of loom?
I made one, a loom, Merry Christmas! talk again :-)
What kind of loom is this?
I notice that I don't use a stick to pickup thread...That seems better then a lap loop...what do u advice

Me encantó tu trabajo Felicidades
Gracias 😊
I watched part one, but a good portion had already been done, is there one before 1?
No, it starts at part 1, this series of videos is more a sharing and demonstration of what is possible than a formal class.
Thank you, I like the style very much! I do not have a loom like yours but thats okay.

I'll be watching all day tomorrow...
