I love this ‘traditional stripped back’ vlog where we watch you and Hobs like the dream team you always are, tacking up and having fun together as mum and daughter! It’s so wholesome! Thank you for all wearing microphones too! It makes me feel like I am there with you!
Sweet Wilma. You both look so good together. You handled her "green moments" like a pro. Can't wait to watch her growth through the season. She's going to be amazing
Nice to see Hobbs back. You and Wilma are a good looking team. Nice job 👋on handling Wilma's enthusiasm as a teaching moment. I think it might be interesting if you could get her up to Simon so that he could ride her as he did with Winnie and then you could have a x-country lesson with Wilma. Simon has such good energy with horses and he seems to love the babies. 🐎 Congrats, she's a beautiful talented girl, Meg!
Meg - Wilma is looking fab! She def has scope, and you’re spot on about giving her these non-pressure educational opportunities. You can tell she is sensible and has a solid head on her to go up the levels. She is absolutely an honest mare, which can be so hard to find. I think you both have amazing journey together ahead of you ❤ Can’t wait to see the up-coming season ☺️
Wilma is a little Fire cracker! I love how everyone bounces of each other, always having a good laugh! Great riding Meg! Wilma is going to make a Amazing Event horse. Lots of love ❤💖 xxxx
Wow Meg you must be so pleased with Wilma. A third 👏She is looking amazing. I love your attitude towards your young horses & how you bring them on 👏 Wilma looks so much like her mama, especially when her ears flop & sweet eyes.
I STILL cannot get over how gorgeous Wilma is, and how well off you guys are together!! The true dream team, she was really meant to be apart of the Elphick family. What a pretty pretty little mare she is. I can't wait to watch her (and you, Meg!) progress through this year and this show season ❤!! You're such an inspiration to me and when I watch your videos, you help me build my confidence ❤.
Well done Meg and Wilma! It was hilarious how she hotted up in the ring after such a composed warm up, but fortunately you like that in a horse ;) You did an amazing job handling her green moments, and we could hear how calm and comfortable you were the whole time- you were reassuring her as well as reminding her that there are some boundaries she has to respect! What I loved was that when you did have to balance her exuberance, you were clear, your hands stayed low, you relaxed the pressure as soon as she responded and THEN you calmly went forward again in a positive, forward thinking way. Bravo Meg!
I LOVE the fact that you put your foot down and insisted she came back to you. Like you said, sometimes training isn't pretty. You just ride better and better every time we see you.🤩
we too have had a drenching winter in Oregon USA-west coast-we are weary but here grateful for water after fire in our area covid then 2 years of drought-Happy Spring to you all!!!!! Wilma is gorgeous.
She’s so smart ! Bless her obviously she’s still very green but honestly she’s so much better on the ground and in the warmup than she was. Like she stood perfect before and after. She will be amazing x
I haven't seen you mum out much lately and it was good to see her today - Meg, you are so lucky to have a mum that supports you in every way and I can assume that your father is equally supportive. Three cheers for your parents!
My word she is so smart , she’s going to be epic eventually, love her attitude about being bothered about something, working it out and just going for it
Yes, she just seemed a little green, but she also seemed to be in her element so to speak. Can't wait to see where the 2 of you are at the end of the season, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. ❤
hearing you cluck her forward at around 11min made me go "YEAH MEG!" so nice to see you push your horses to the fence vs. hold them back to the fence, i know it has been something you've been wokring on for a while
I think you handled all of those corrections perfectly. I always think it's better to correct the problem quickly to help them understand what you're correcting. Great job!! 👍👍
I wished you lived closer to me. I organise dressage clinics and would love to offer you and Wilma a free lesson. Well done on your exciting eventing outing. 🐴💜
my trainer always told me before a competition. Ride it like you are winning but as soon as the horse feels different ride like you are training. And that helped my confidence so much during competition. that pressure to win was gone by just hearing that sentence
Omg she looks so fun but soo difficult but you make her look so amazing can’t wait too see what she’s like after more mileage under her belt. You should be so proud of yourself meggy ❤❤
' Wilma is such a sweet hores , AND SO good your mum had a Holiday ,AND hope your mum had a good time. 💖 meg lick YOU say it's all educational, AND your doing SO good with Wilma .And I addmeryou for all you do. TAKE care and all the best. 😊😊😊👍👍👍 And a BIG thank you to Pete .👍👍👍
Wooo whooo !! That was awesome 👌 A tip given to me once was " Warm Up Strong , So That You Can Ride Soft " . It may help her but isn't she fabulous ❤ You did super well with her 🎉
Great commentary thanks. Really useful. You rode really well! I have a slightly feisty one at comps and I loved your positive approach to producing Wilma 👏
Love your videos! I learn so much from them and they have helped me so much with my confidence issues. I am so curious as to what safety stirrups you use/recommend! I am trying to find some that I like and that I don't have to sell a kidney for!
I’ve got the Lemieux Vector ones that I am liking, and then have got a pair of Bostock ones I’ve had for years and absolutely love. Thanks for the lovely comment x
Well done Meg and Wilma! So exciting to watch you go around. QUESTION: Besides the body vest, is there protection gear for pelvis? I just took a spill and ended up with 2 broken ribs and partially fractured pelvis. Not going to be riding for a while😢 Wondering for future riding. Can't imagine going thru that again.🤠
My mom's horse is bay, mine's a buckskin pinto. No matter what I do, mine looks like he's had a fresh roll in poo because his buckskin points are exactly that color
I’ll tell you. Hearing Meg breathing semi- hard doing the course makes me feel better about me basically dry heaving after a ground poles course from exhaustion. I’m fit too right? Right!?!?? Adulting is hard.
@@elphick.event.ponies Girl, the struggle is real and it’s very appreciated that you’re keeping 100%. Totally get the humbling too, it’s always great dying through trot warm up while the ten year old in the class with you is barely breathing hard. Always look forward to your content, been watching for a while. Awesome to see how far you’ve come! Cheers from USA!
She'll figure it out! I don't think you overdid the corrections, but given your tendencies, I do think it's important not to shut her down too much. She wasn't bolting (now Ember bolts!), after all. Just a bit keen. Would be a good idea to really teach the half halt in her dressage schooling sessions so she understands that it means to rebalance and pay attention. 🙂

Ah thank you, I'm so excited for her this season! X

I agree. I would like to see what Simon has to say about Wilma!
Really excited this mare has such a bright future ahead of her and she's a credit to you meg xx
Wilma was fired up! She is a real beauty! It's so nice to have Hobbit along for her expert help and lovely personality! ❤

I've missed Hobbs, she has a very soothing energy, it's ASMR-esque

Her trot stride is really starting to look amazing.

Wilma really enjoyed herself, I love watching all your videos.
so amazingly ridden and handled. You rode Wilma amazingly and her jump is insane. Big things to come for you guys
I haven't seen you mum out much lately and it was good to see her today - Meg, you are so lucky to have a mum that supports you in every way and I can assume that your father is equally supportive. Three cheers for your parents!
You handled the rounds perfectly Meg and have grown so much as a rider 🤩
I feel it’s a guessing game from now on as two who is going to be the spiciest between Winnie and Wilmer 😂😝
Hahah it really is 😂
Would love to see training videos on how you will train her to be obedient and willing during competitions -thanks!
Watching here in the USA, I love your mom. It will be fun to Wilma’s progress this year. I love eventing, my grand daughters were both eventers.
Wilma is the cutest! ❤ I love her! She’s going to be amazing!
What a keen bean! Definitely the thoroughbred coming through.
I will always believe that when horses get more muscle, and when they get a job, they get more feisty. That’s when you know you’ve done a good job :)
she’s going to be such a good event horse i’m so excited to see you too eventing one day well done meg ❤
Hobbit bringing the excellent commentary as always!!
Wilma did fantastic for her first arena eventing attempt 🤩
It’s going to be fun watching her come along !! Well done both of you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My word she is so smart , she’s going to be epic eventually, love her attitude about being bothered about something, working it out and just going for it
wilma is so lovely and I think when she is a bit older she is going to make an an amazing eventer and that keanness is probably a good sign.
Oh my gosh I absolutely love her she is going to be amazing 👏 love her fizz when she entered the arena 🎉
So cute isn’t it
You and Wilma are really getting on so well together! Loved both your enthusiasm, she’s such a cool green bean ❤

Wilma is a cute horse 🐎 Many years ago I also had a Connemara/TB. He was fun.
The way she pings over the fences is so cute 😭 and you did a great job dealing with her feisty moments, she is gonna be a pro in no time ❤

You two look great together Megan. You've got a great future in front of you with this big "pony"!! ( You do anyway, but you know what I mean!)! 😎😎
Great job holding it together!! Will you be teaching her flying changes?
She really, really needs a running martingale. It would help with these moments so much
Oh Wilma was having a GREAT time !!!!.Weeeee !!!!
Love your videos! I learn so much from them and they have helped me so much with my confidence issues.
I am so curious as to what safety stirrups you use/recommend! I am trying to find some that I like and that I don't have to sell a kidney for!

Bless her,she really is sweet even when she goes a bit green! Will be so interesting to see where she is compared to this vlog in a years time.
Great job seeing it for what it was and not beating yourself up for silly green bean moments!
at 8.30 wilma learning the course with meg 😂😍
WILMA LOOKS IMPECCABLE
Lucina lesson? I loved watching those
Lordy, she is a lovely girl!
Well done Meg and Wilma! So exciting to watch you go around.
