I love his extended version of this joke: The worst time to have a heart attack is during a game of charades, especially if your teammates are bad guessers. The only time worse would be during a game of Fake Heart Attack followed by naps.
He seems to have smoked ONE spliff in middle school and stayed up writing funny jokes. He has then made a 15 years career telling the same old jokes over and over again. Even HE must be over bored with them. Funny once. Thats it. Even ten years later they're not funny a second time around.
I love watching Demetri and he definitely makes me laugh. I especially like the way he plays guitar, I wish I could do that. He was very good in that Woodstock movie.
Quirky slightly non PC quirky comic and then some NP puts him in front of a terrible crowd... Further proof that the heart of the common person has died.
this was performed to quick, and with less pauses which made it less impactful. it was better the first time but all jokes i heard that ide never heard before seemed less funny then ide expect them to be, dispite them being as wise and im expecting.
or maybe they weren't there to see him. performing at an event like this is much different than a regular show given theres much more going on than just comedy. doesnt matter whos performing or whos attending it'll typically end up like this
NELOPES7 I can’t tell if you are impressed with the staying power of his jokes, or being snarky because you expect people to keep making new things for you.
standup comedy is good in bars, maybe in theaters. i guess crowd are sit in table and they eat/ drink. once i did standup comedy in restaurant and that was hell. crowd in restaurant like places dont give a fuck about guy on stage. they eating and chatting. not good idea making standup comedy show for restaurant organizators.
I wouldn't blame him if he became a misogynist after that audience. Never heard an audience react to DM like that. Come to think about it, I almost didn't hear this one.
I couldn't even break a smile over this horrible secondhand material!! He has lost it should just retire from the comedy scene as he has no new material to make anyone even giggle!
Even in awkward venues like this, Demetri is still one of the greats!

I don't particularly care what the cause is, Demetri Martin is one funny guy. And that alone should stand on its merits. He always make me laugh.

Demetri is the best!... Laaaaadies.
He’s so easily relatable, how can he perform with such silence from the crowd? They must all still be thinking about his first joke.
I think the venue acoustics weren't great for hearing the crowd
that song he was playing sounded like " We could be friends"
This has got to be his most depressing set I’ve seen. Toughest crowd ever.
What happened to this guy’s career?
Probably seems that way partially because there weren't mic's picking up the audience, so when they laugh loudly it's still faint.
. . . . Ladies . .
(My fave).
That guitar is a Voyage Air VAOM-02 or 03 foldable guitar.
I love watching Demetri and he definitely makes me laugh. I especially like the way he plays guitar, I wish I could do that. He was very good in that Woodstock movie.
Man I like him but this was rough. Weirdly you can tell he's nervous
Hes nervous because hes telling jokes to a room of sensitive uppity self victimizing egomaniacs.
i think he's also stoned as fuck, look at his red eyes and the way he paranoidly goes into how much comedians love galas about 50 seconds in
I think he may have just been in a time crunch, and that's why he appeared nervous.
I think he could tell it was not going to be a good crowd, and that’s why he seemed anxious.
@@SSEasygoing wtf, way to insult him as well
The ladies bit didn’t add the creep factor like it used to
His inflection wasn’t the same
Probably hard to do at an “equality” event.
Demetri is a pro
Start at 2:17
People at these types of events don't laugh easily. They are always so uptight and serious.
his timing is phenomenal
Does he play a “Martin”?
It's a Voyage Air guitar!
@@jamiecohen7313 r/woooosh Still though, thanks for the knowledge!
@@MrPr1nglz Oh I got the joke; was just trying to be helpful....cool move referencing Reddit on TH-cam tho
skip to 2:15
@4:18 AGREED
Idk why ppl are saying skip to 215 like he’s still being funny before that. 😂
🌠👍😅👏👏👏👏
Talking about a tough crowd!!!!
Quirky slightly non PC quirky comic and then some NP puts him in front of a terrible crowd... Further proof that the heart of the common person has died.
You could hear them laughing the entire time. They just didn't mic up the crowd
I’ve been in many drum circles...still not rich.
His looks like Dustin Hoffman and Tom cruise !
tough crowd pal
The fajita joke really never lands, I see it in almost every new skit LOL he needs to stop
Great crowd...
Ice bear playing my guitar
2018 and no new jokes?
You dont waste new material at a shitty fund raiser gala. Especially if the fundraiser is going to post video of it. You save it for specials.

. . . . t o o . . . . 2 o's.
Go on . . . . .
Demetri is too intelligent for this crowd.
or maybe they weren't there to see him. performing at an event like this is much different than a regular show given theres much more going on than just comedy. doesnt matter whos performing or whos attending it'll typically end up like this
and by crowd you mean AMERICA.....we sure know.....
Oh amazing . Ten year old material

How about equality and justice for EVERYBODY?
Save the children doesn't mean **** adults, same with this, same with black lives matter.
Ice bear.
Bullshit Gala. Good comedy.
He does not want to be here lol.
In fairness it's very hard to be an SJW and also have a sense of humour.
Not at all, but there aren't mics picking up the audience so their reactions are very faint.
When a comedian has a bad night it's like watching a super model acting sexy at 90. Or a millionaire behaving pretentious after going broke.
Or a former stolen base champion at an old timers game.
@@drasticwillb or a 52 yo man forgetting hes old while talking to a 24 yo girl...getting a little too personal for me :( lol

oof
He's awesome, but this was definitely not his best.
WoodenSaucer I was thinking the exact same.
Go back to doing magic David !
Too quiet. I'm out.

Fortunately he's a rational being so he's not a misogynist.
The audience wasn't mic'd up, it's pretty simple.
Good thing this guy hasn't got a political opinion or his jokes would suck. ;)
Haha
