Yeah, hearing from a few people that other markets have 6/8GB which makes it even better! Not sure why the UK is only getting 4GB, it's the main thing that makes me hesitate about recommending it 😕- Dom
Just got one in NZ for NZ$399, has 8GB RAM 128GB SSD amazing phone overall, stunning OLED screen, hard to find fault with this model, pointless spending any more on flagship phones
@@killicka bought it from 2degees. Battery charge is super fast and I get full day use no prob. Camera is great, wish it had wide angle though. Performance is fast for everything I do on it, I don't game but watch HD video a lot and browse web. I got this (UK model from the carphonewarehouse - reno z 4gb) - Really nice looks, screen, audio, sensor, battery life etc but the phone has MAJOR MAJOR flaws - Really really poor network signal. I lost signal for 2 hours on Tuesday and 3 hours on Wednesday. No reception. I have never experienced this before on my network (ee). When I did get a connection, I had really poor 4g speeds, the phone kept connecting to 3g/h+. Really really poor experience. I took the sim out and put it into an honor 10 lite, and signal/reception returned with decent 4g speeds. Colour OS is slightly buggy - phone had frozen a few times/restart had been required. It feels like the helio p90 struggles - or it could be due to the 4gb ram limitation (uk model) This is a Major flaw and I'm going to have to return the phone for this reason. It's such a shame as I really like it - but it's unreliable as an actual phone (to make calls and surf).
Wow, that sounds like it might be a defective model? We haven't seen that at all with our review phone. Though on the performance side I'm not quite so surprised, though again we haven't seen anything that bad! - Dom
Most helpful comment I've read. Thanks, I was going to buy this phone (ive bought 2 phones since November, both Huawei). Both of those phones suffer with poor/intermittent Wi-Fi & Bluetooth connectivity and poor network signal. I've just Ask Jeevesed your issues and turns out they're common problems.
@@yamaki2144 Here in Europe we only have the 4gb ram. I just wonder how is in the daily usage. 4gb ram on my Pixel 3 XL feels a bit sluggish from time to time. I am just looking for something different and Oppo phone models tick the boxes. I am very bored of those Huawei's, Samsungs and IPhone's
Omg we're not buying a top end model were wanting a review of THIS model!! Why can't people just review phones without comparing it with new phones?? If we want a new pH or could afford one we would get one!!
@Tech Advisor ive been looking absolutely everywhere for information on the oleophobic coating on the phone which is industry standard, previous oppo phones like the R11 had issues and were heavily criticized for not having an oleophobic coating on the screen This is what makes the phone resistant to materials such as scratch, dust, water, etc and makes it feel smooth when touching the screen or moving your finger across I know the oppo comes with a screen protector but thats just blegh, not everyone wants a factory standard SP, and most take it off with every other brand, and every other brand makes sure to oleophobic coat the screen out of factory.
Hmm, good question. We didn't get any info from Oppo itself on the oleophobic coating. I'll let our reviewer know and maybe he can find something out - Dom
@@TechAdvisor it would be fairly easy to test if you guys have a review model that you dont mind removing protection from, a few drops of water on the screen would show it, if it has a coating, the water will bead up on the screen into a bubble and slide off, if it doesnt, the water will smudge
True! Not something we normally test for, and honestly I'd missed the stuff around Oppo not using it before, but sounds like it might be worth checking for in this case - Dom
Depends a bit on where you are, as pricing/specs vary. If they're about the same price I'd probably go for the Xiaomi, which is likely to have better performance & cameras, plus the full screen. Oppo has a nicer design if you don't mind the notch though, and no risk of a moving part breaking... - Dom
If the Oppo is cheaper then it's probably a good bet! It should still have solid camera & performance, but bear in mind I haven't tested it at all other than this video, Lewis is actually reviewing it for us - Dom

For a Budget phone oppos are amazing
Oppo Reno Z is a great launch, in budget segment and with best Helio P90 processor, waiting for my hands on it.
How did you get 4gb ram, it's 8 practically everywhere else
UK version is 4gb
I have just bought this from Argos but I'm confused as it says in the box that phone can only be used in EU .
Its 2024 and my oppo reno z still running smoothly
Don't forget stereo sound
Good point, and fairly rare for the price point! - Dom
The dual speaker set up is great for the price and they sound way better than the quieter speakers in my Huawei Mate 10 Pro.
How do you make the 3 buttons appear at bottom of screen I.e home button

Should I get this (comes with 8gb ram and a ue wonderboom) or a Samsung galaxy a70. They are the same price as well as the OPPO r17 pro.
Alex Strickland get this one the a50 is way more of a down grade then this so I would say this phone
A70 has 6gb ram with huge screen size
If you got the budget to buy A70
Then go for it
Alex Strickland what did you end up getting? I’ve ordered a a70(they had sold out in store) but now I’m thinking I should just get the Reno z
The place I bought it from introduced Xiaomi products so I ended up getting a Xiaomi Mi 9T which is amazing 👍
Just bought this . Better in every category than my Samsung S8 except in high graphics gaming .
Well, the s8 still has a better cpu chipset (Exynos 8895/SD835),

hey tech advisor, does reno z has optical image stabilization?
The phone looks really cool. The features are also impressive and Helio P90 must be a good performer... can't wait for its launch in Uganda.

The reno z is now just £200, how does this compare with a £550 reno 10× 5g . Is it worth getting for 200 ?
Does it has triple slot?
which is better,Oppo reno z or huawei nova 5t?
Huawei nova 5t by a landslide, but nova 5t costs more, and doesn't have a headphone jack
Oppo is op. Change my mind. I currently have the oppo r17pro I wan get my hands on this
