I am taking over a new team in a week, and the things you said are what I was feeling in my gut were right, but I needed to hear it from someone. Also, it was good to hear to sit on my hands for a bit, as I can get super excited right off the bat, and was so nervous that I'd need to come in with a plan and take over right away, and I definitely would have if I hadn't heard this. So, thank you! You have made me feel much more confident, relaxed, secure, and ready for this new job. You're also the first and ONLY person so far on youtube that I actually stuck around to watch the entire video, as so many of the others gave me the feeling that they were insecure, egotistical, micromanaging, or the "try to be your fake friend" type right away. Thanks again, and I look forward to seeing more of what you post!
Just seeing this comment, and wow - truly meaningful to read this. So glad it was helpful. And, thank you for taking the time to write and let us know, and engage here 🙏
I’m literally about to experience this exact scenario now and today I didn’t have a shift but I stopped by the workplace and basically got to see how they operate. I just chose to shadow with minimal supervision. It’s interesting to see current work behaviors from a manager that wasn’t liked and how I could improve upon it.
Great tips for any new person stepping into a management or team lead role. This is the first time I am considering stepping into a management team, and honestly, I'm excited and scared. Listening to this video is going to help set me and other people up for success in their roles. Thank you!
@@Canopy_isHowdy ! Am being assigned a team where I have to set up governance from scratch, how do I go about it! ? Which kind of governance would work ?
