I first heard Richard Diamond when I was working as a police officer on surveillance. The car they gave me had Sirus XM and the old classic radio shows. I listened to one show and I was hooked. One of my favourites. Thank you for uploading this.
Just found this video typing 'Richard diamond old time I radio '. I'm a huge fan of Dick Powell also, so witty ironic with all the characters. Will definitely listen soon. Subscribed on TH-cam. I love all the old time radio detective shows especially diamond, Johnny dollar and Sam Spade ♠️.who can forget ♠️'s secretary, great voice actress. Light-hearted, not as gory gritty as Philip Marlowe stories.
Cool beans! I agree, in my top 5. Johnny Dollar is the man when it comes to serious detective action but Diamond is a cool dude!! Good to see someone with a heart for OTR !!
Dick Powell was an amazing talent. He directed the excellent WWII film, "The Enemy Below," which was one of my late fathers favorites. It saddens me that such talents like Dick Powell, Jack Webb and Humphrey Bogart all died so young.
They all smoked too. Powell did Camel commercials on some of these shows. I love it when some of the Camel commercials said that .ore doctors smoke Camels and recommend them, and to smoke them for 30 days and see how your throat will feel better. Really makes you question the medical community.
Dick Powell got his talent in Mt. View, Arkansas. Love all the Dick Powel stuff, especially Rouges Gallery. Thanks for the shows. Love how he would throw in comments about his home state Arkansas from time to time.
The Russian character, probably Harry Conreid, so hillarious 😂😂😂. To draw the czar, 'capitalist now '. Finished it🎉 liked the seal story and the Bacon book story.
Awesome! That's the idea I had for this channel! The visuals are designed to help keep your attention without distracting you from the show. I'm glad that you enjoyed it!
Cool! In your intro I learned Blake Edwards directed this. I happening to just now be enjoying a binge with Peter Gunn on iMBtv and I can see how maybe Diamond might be a loose lead-in to Gunn. In any event - so far I’m really enjoying this upload. Thanks again! ☮️
I remember when we got our tv set my grandmother sat in front of it all day waiting for programs to start while all of us spent our time in our parlor listening to radio on a Emerson large. complete console radio all channels am FM and all short wave tv could not complete with your emignation of the story tv fell short and today loads of shows suck !
Good Evening..I have a question. Can I have my daughter make me a t shirt that says "Johnny Dollar..the man with the action packed exspense account"? Or do I get in trouble with someone somewhere
@ecouturehandmades5166 - Sure did! I only got one, but I wore to the Saturday local farmers market..I think 20 people (over 3 months) commented on it! It was freaking great!! We also would discuss the half hour long episodes vs. The 15 minute ones. The 15 minute ones won out!!!😆😆😆🥰🥰
I enjoy Dick Powell and really like Blake Edwards’s movies. But I always disliked the one-liner quips that Blake wrote for Diamond. I thought they were really, really lame. The show had interesting stories but the feeble humor made me less inclined to listen. For what it’s worth.
I've only seen clips of the TV version. Diamond is reimagined as an entirely different character from what I could tell. Both probably reflect the different time periods in which they were produced as well as each actor's interpretation. Not to mention different the difference in an audio portrayal to a video one.

Dick Powell was an amazing talent. He directed the excellent WWII film, "The Enemy Below," which was one of my late fathers favorites. It saddens me that such talents like Dick Powell, Jack Webb and Humphrey Bogart all died so young.
I admire the great talents of these actors too !
They died all too soon
Wish we had such talent today.
True. it was habits, high fat, tons of un filtered smoking , and no bypass surgery yet
They all smoked too. Powell did Camel commercials on some of these shows. I love it when some of the Camel commercials said that .ore doctors smoke Camels and recommend them, and to smoke them for 30 days and see how your throat will feel better. Really makes you question the medical community.

Oh how I love Richard Diamond! Nothing better than a soothing love song from I guess it is Dick Powell? Now that is something I need to know.
Dick Powell had a great voice and showcased it on the show every week! He was a multi talented actor for sure!
@@HearthandHomeEntertainment I do recall looking him up once and he was so talented! Love him~born too late.1960's child.

I remember some of the old cars in the video and remember my grandfather wearing those s hats .
Love your channel! Thank you for all the work you put into it. I'm praying you get 50,000 plus followers soon! 🙂👍
Amen
Ed Begly jr. was the best Lt. L. Dick Powell was always one of my favorites. And the guy that played Otis very talented.
Actually it was Ed Begly Sr.! He was great! Alan Reed was good too.👍🙂
Don't forget his earlier radio show, "Rogue's Gallery". It was another great detective series!!
Wow! I almost forgot that one! Thanks for the recommendation! I'll definitely do that one soon. Stay tuned😃

Good show toinight going lay down for night very with my pit just remember nevere take things forgranted
I think that Dick Powel had a demo of Jonny Dollar made before he decided against doing he series.
Love him but anyone who is hit over the head as many times as him 🤔 Jeezo, poor guy
Later on - Mannix !

Ed Begley Jr. ? It sounds more like Ed Begley Sr. to me.🙄

Hi Claire! As far as I know the show and character are in the public domain.👍
@@HearthandHomeEntertainment - Whoopi Hoo..Now I also need to make a few of Richard Diamonds lines from when he answers the phone!

$100 a day? I wouldn't do that job for less than $500 a day plus expenses. 😉
Jim Rockford had a rate of $200 a day

My beard is real
Dick Powell does a terrible job of portraying Richard Diamond compared to David Janssen.
I've only seen clips of the TV version. Diamond is reimagined as an entirely different character from what I could tell. Both probably reflect the different time periods in which they were produced as well as each actor's interpretation. Not to mention different the difference in an audio portrayal to a video one.
Dick Powell does an excellent job being Richard Diamond. He was the best.
Supremely annoying. Pass.

What glue did you use to glue on your beard?
