As long as we still breathe and have the desire within us to repent and strive to follow Jesus, no matter how poorly we succeed, we cannot fall out of grace.

“If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you''. Keep your heart clean brother. The devil burns cause you are getting close to the Christ. The battle you encounter now is the liberation of you. The cross that He was crucified for you, before you. I am sure that your heart will melt from love, the moment you understand that you start living beside Him. I hope we could have the grace to enter paradise and see each other there brother. Love from Greece.☦

My husband and I are inquirers of the Orthodox faith and attended our first Divine Liturgy last month at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Flagstaff, AZ, which is a two hour drive from us. To avoid pride, the Lord has allowed me to have cancer and neuropathy from the chemo I've been on for 7 years. I've even asked Him to help me do vigil but He's allowed me to NOT do it. This is all to grant me the humility I've asked Him for. I thank God for that 💖

God continues to give me the strength to face all battles of this world. Heavenly Father I know you don’t give us more than we can handle. So while I’m struggling to support my children. and while I’m struggling to buy groceries, and rent every month. Through it all I’m keeping faith. Walking with faith is all we can do as christians. Praise Jesus.

Perfection is in the will. The Lord was referring to love of others and in forgiving others. You can do that and lots of saints were martyred doing just that. Be Perfect Be Christlike forgive and you will be forgiven..love one another.. Try not to overthink it...the Lord isn't talking about an uncharitable thought from getting at 6am and stubbing your toe cuz of laziness for not going fully around the coffee table... Noo Forgive...Love neighbor . Be Perfect in this

Prayer request. I was living off grid. Sickness has meant I needed to move. I was in a hotel until my money ran out. Now i have been put in a homeless hostel. It's scary stuff! People out side my door fighting. Smashing stuff. Threatening to kill each other. I'm sat in my cell like room unable to go out because I don't want any agro. I'm trying to stay strong. I'm praying. I have my faith. But it's scary stuff. At least I have my two dogs to protect me!

I was driving home a day or two ago and thinking about the very same biblical passage. God’s grace is freely given to all.
Likewise with the two extremes you talk about. I was talking with a pastor from a local evangelical church, about these very things. The pursuit of Theosis on one side and by Grace on the other. At first sight, it seems to be a paradox.
Would I be correct in saying that it is a the “effort” climb Jacob’s Ladder that is rewarded.
We take the sacramentum and embark on the spiritual path. The sacramentum involves service and sacrifice.

I have a question. There is a covert narcissist woman who is church going and unfortunately fits perfectly this style of behavior which is highly malignant in its essence while faking empathy and hurting people (stabbing you while hugging you). What to do? I already established distance but realized that it will escalate and become ugly once she realizes she is seen through. Her lies are concerned always on blame shifting, condemnation and duplicity. Using people for her needs and nagging if they do not bow down to her “needs” and attention seeking. Everything is about her and there is no “we” in her vocabulary. All the while she knows perfectly well what Orthodoxy is and what congregation and togetherness in Christ means. How to avoid this person and how to “confront”them if they drive you up the wall? I very well know that they feed on sucking up peace out of people and love seeing people suffer. This is the only way that they can prove to themselves that they are “empathetic “.

My little brother died last year. He was young. That was a fire I was put in, and I was made moldeable. But it’s been a year, and the iron has hardened. And I’m twisted and bent out of shape. The idea of having to go through that fire again is unbearable. Why does perfection, why does mercy, why does love require such unimaginable pain?
And what can we say for ourselves when, sick and hurting, we refuse to hurt even more?
I have a widow who lives next door to me. But my health is poor, and I am filled with shame with not having visited her in the past, and my migraine is pounding. Must I go over and suffer through my illness to minister to her? I can hardly get out of bed.
I am lost and lonely and depressed and weak. I cry out to God for help. And then I sin sexually for comfort. And then I confess, and then I distract myself with TH-cam for hours. And nothing changes. Am I not already in hell? And the only way out is to become perfect? How? I hardly have the strength to get up and go for a walk.

One thing Father. He doesn't ask us to hate ourselves . Hate our body hate our mind.
    Hate is from the enemy.
He teaches us in sermon on Mount that we have value. .
On this level you are wrong.
He loves us and requires us to know our value
We are required to be perfect as He is because He loves us.
Self condemning attitude makes it very hard to live past sin.
Much easier to do it because of love .
    Be blessed

Hello Father, I am a recent convert to Orthodoxy and was just baptized before Nativity. I would like to ask you about faith. I have been struggling with unbelief for some time now and coming out of protestantism, and it seems as though if I do not believe God exists, He will condemn me. I am very troubled and worried about not believing in God, even though I desperately want to all the time. I feel that if I were just able to prove something or see something that that would fix it, but I know this probably is useless. What is faith? Is it an acknowledgement of His existence like the protestants say? I will continue to pray, but I just want reassurance that everything that I've done up to this point, and the love I have for the Church and its members, and for Christ is real and that everything is okay and God loves me and everyone else. What do you think I should do about this issue? I don't want to have my faith built up on "pascal's wager" or fear or anything like this, but I want a natural, real faith. I have asked in Church, "why do you believe in God"? And they'll say, "I just believe". Why do you just believe? How can you just believe? I ask for your prayers and I hope you are doing well Father. (please, anyone in the comments respond as well, I can use the help.)
