I was clinically depressed. For nearly two years, I was wasting away, doing drugs, and drinking-i was a waste of space. I bought a cheap ipod from someone because he needed the money to go to a concert. While I was going through his playlist, this particular album stuck out. "Let yourself be huge". I was intrigued. I remember listening to it, while I walked after a particularly long night of drug infused suicidal thoughts. As I was walking with my earphones on with this album playing, something changed. While it took me another year to get sober, and clean up my act, this album was the moment I decided to rebuild my life. I owe my life to this album, and I will never forget it.
your comment made me feel very happy to read such testimony. I'm very happy for you. In someway i can understand your past feelings story. My brother commited suicide throwing himself from a 9th floor. He was depressed and in long-term drug abuse. In his last day he was "sleepin" all the days in jail, for decision on the judge court. He could not take his life anymore. And today I was listening to this beautiful album and I was thinking of him. Now, I'm in a similar problem (not in jail thank god) and I'm trying to fix myself also. I have a family, wife and little son. My brother also left behind a little daughter. This music makes me feel hopeful in someway. Thanks you very much for such sincerely sharing. Hope you are doing well right now. Don't ever give up to anything.
I can somewhat relate to this, similar time period, similar habits and an obsession with music beyond the metal I had surrounded myself with previously. This was a release (or the window to one) on many occasions and I'll never forget the brilliance of such a band/album
Cloudkicker has earned a place forever in my memory. He was there all those times I was walking through the forest with my dog. Let yourself be huge is such an emotionally moving piece for me.
my grandpa just died last night, now his soul has gone into all of my familys heart and back to nature , back to where we all go, back to where this music came from. i just want to thank Mr. Sharp for his music and life, for giving us everything
María José Morales Man i know it's been an year but you can't say you were pleasantly surprised. His grandpa passed away. On the behalf of your fellow metalheads, yannikho, we offer you our sincere condolences. Friend, these are things that naturally happen and the only thing we can do is learn from them. Learn to cherish our time for it is limited, learn to spend time with our loved ones and let them know how important they really are to us and last but not least, spread love and happiness because there is no reason not to and we don't get enough anyways.
…when I first heard this album I was in the pit of despair. Literally. Some fat, albino slob was about to send electrical volts through my already beaten and battered body. Then, this album played faintly in a far off land… but somehow I heard it. I had to. It gave me the strength to unshackle my restraints. It gave me the power to fly. I’m soaring through the air now. I’m typing this with my mind. This music is life. This life is love. Thank you music. Thank you Cloudkicker. I’m now one with you. Forever.
***** haha, well I was a huge Metallica nerd when I was 13 so I'll give you that :) Oddly enough, I didn't know Opeth at that age. Discovered them way later in life. Speaking of Opeth, they announced they will be coming to the states for the 25 year anniversary tour. Only in new york though :/ But still... They'll be playing all of ghost reveries I hear!
Anthony Guardalabene that's just it. Metallica got me into harder music, Opeth got me into Death Metal. got into them at the beginning of high school and they're still my favourite band. Lucky for me I live close to New York!! haha
A few days ago, I was feeling especially sad, so I went for a walk to clear my head and maybe provide some closure on some deep-rooted issues. I had this album on the whole way. During my walk, I somehow ended up at the crematorium. The title track started playing as I walked through the gates. I started to look for the markers of my Dad and Grandmother, who had both been cremated there. I found them together, next to each other. Right as I did, the vocals kicked in. "Hey... I know, I know." I dropped to my knees and just bawled my eyes out until the song finished. It was one hell of an experience, one I'm sure I won't forget for a long time.
I love this album. I've listened to the other albums by this artist but none compare in my opinion. Yet again this one is very unique. Very soft and mellow compared to the others. I want him to make another like this one.
Nicolas Dml this album is very much magic, my friend. i, too, love all the rest of his work, but there's just something so visceral and emotive about this album. the first track brings so much out of me.
Nicolas Dml this album is simple its beautiful but not complex not full of random effects that gives more atmospheric approach not djenty with binary guitar tabs etc etc i think its mostly that the 360 degree change about Cloudkicker from Djent/prog metal to some atmospheric rock-something at first i was like What happened to this guy? but later on after a couple of replays you get to like it the melody and the simplicity
You and Yours is my favorite track on the album and Let Yourself Be Huge is my 2nd favorite I love You and Yours and how it’s hard in the beginning and then it’s so progressive and inspiring and Let Yourself is very hopeful and almost seems wistful like you’re almost there like you’ve almost reached the top of that mountain great album to walk to and the first track reminds me of the Sun
I was in an elevator on my way to the top floor to jump off the building. This album was playing in the elevator. Needless to say this music changed my mind about ending my life. I now use this music for everything. Potty training my kids- track 3- The Word Water- Dieting- track 8 Let Yourself Be Huge- Exorcisms track 6 It's Inside Me, and I'm Inside it... This music changed my perspective on life...
huh..... this was playing in an elevator? Somehow I believe you because Ben Sharpe is adamant about his music being as free as possible to share and profit from.
This has been my favorite album, artist, and songs of all time. I love this music with every fiber of my being and it let's me know just how connected we all are to share these feelings when we hear it. Thank you so much for your blessings of beautiful perfect music Cloudkicker. I love you.
You and Yours 10:51 through the end of the song is my favorite guitar riff I have heard in years. Just now discovering this music, absolutely loving it.
JustTooClassy I firmly believe that You and Yours is the best thing that he's done. It's just so heavenly and amazing. This is one of those tracks that doesn't come along very often.
JustTooClassy dude, I love that you said that. I feel the same exact way. It's so ethereal and haunting. Even crazier is I read this comment at exactly 11:32....
my sister studied audio production i played her this album she immediately knew "this is a metal bad" "you know them?" "no - but they are mixed like one" still my favorite loving girls to music
_The Word Water_ Welcome back. _This_ isn't you and yours. _It_'s inside me, and I'm inside _it_ -- One, Many. Explore, be curious; Let yourself be huge! . . . +Adrianna Lenard I would have thought the same, had I not read your comment. I believe yet another intentional imperfection has also been introduced at the beginning of "It's inside me, and I'm inside it", and it's most pronunced at around 14:59, where the chord is in played minor, and melody played in major ; but it's really difficult to discern, though I think it's intentional (and not eg bad tuning). cheers

+6C1 It's all about perception, I've seen a study on how chords and melodies works. While some would say this is out of tune and shit, others will maybe think it's an artistic choice. And when I'm thinking of Cloudkicker the first thing I see is a marvelous mix between things that have nothing to do together.
As soon as I buy this album I'm sure I'll spend plenty of time playing "The Word Water" on infinite repeat. Wish it was longer. Makes me want to buy a 12-string
i have experienced some intence shit during let yourself be huge with my girlfriend shit was beautifle. she said xhe loved me for the first time. shit made me cry haha. i`m such a wuss
+wesley de wit thats what couldkicker will do to you. amazing how no words have to be spoken to make you feel every emotion, thats is true musicianship and art in my opinion.
wesley de wit it took me over a year after my breakup to listen to certain songs or even eat at our favorite places. How you holding up these days man?

This is my favorite album.
I too have had similar phases. This is the epitome of beauty.
Welcome back... :)

I keep coming back to this specific album...something about it is just magical.
+gloomyowl1 100% agree. Friend of mine introduced me to this artist and album years ago. One of my favorite albums ever

This album is very inspiring. The title alone is very motivating, and the songs are overflowing with positive feeling.
Cloudkicker has earned a place forever in my memory. He was there all those times I was walking through the forest with my dog. Let yourself be huge is such an emotionally moving piece for me.
Never really took notice of Cloudkicker's slower, more intimate stuff until now. Love it.

Isn't it crazy how people discovered cloudkicker through either post-rock, prog metal or math rock
Cloudkicker is a solo man project. His name is Ben Sharp.
Who is TWDY?

the word water, best minute or so of my life. so much depth so such a short song, really want a longer version of it
11:32 to the end of that song really changed me as a person

Stunning
He gives his music free but with a gift that all money in this world couldn't buy.
Never fail to amaze... 👏👏👏
It’s inside me, and I’m inside it.
There is energy;
And it’s not what it appears to
It’s always been and will always be;
I’m inside it; and it’s bright inside me
This album gives love.
This is amazing!!!🤗🔥🤗
Man i remember listening one of these songs about 4 years ago, idk why i never searched for the full thing until now
I feel like "Let yourself be huge." was somewhere in the corporate messages on the Axiom starship in WALL-E.
I'm going to tattoo the album title. It's such an inspiring phrase that hit me hard when i first read (and listened) to it.
Nice trick in "Explore, Be Curious." Seriously thought something went wrong with my headphones for a second.
+Adrianna Lenard

Anytime I drive for long periods of time, this album gets put on.

I want to show this album to my fiancee since it's very nice, but the album title might send an opposite message than what I intended...
You and Yours is magnificent. Can anyone suggest bands that have that same style? I would love to hear more songs like that.
What a joy!
20:00 I just hear so much Opeth here.
Yeah it's got that acoustic folk sound that Opeth were playing in the Morningrise era
You and yours!
I love that track. it has really stuck with me
Dre Cor I will praise this track until the day I die. A rare musical beauty.
