This is extremely helpful. I’ve been thinking a lot about how I can impact my community & a community garden is always at the top of my ideas. Thank you for this video!

I was thinking of using this basis of this video so that I could start up my Highschool gardening club, so thank you very much for making this video!

How is the planning or your community garden going? We are currently in the planning stages of a garden to be on the church property located in Copperas Cove near Fort Hood here in Texas.

@@bobbyhill3256 Sadly it hasn’t begun. I’m hoping when my daughter returns to school, I want to apply for the Farm to School program, I have a meeting scheduled with the superintendent. People liked/loved the church garden idea, but no one has signed up…..🥲🥺😢🙏🏼✨💐 I have a small backyard garden ☺️

@@alaskannative9967 Sadly nothing started yet, everyone loved the idea, but no one signed up. I have a small backyard garden I’m tending….need to invest in shade cloth and drip irrigation for these sweltering hot summers. I’m still not giving up in creating a community garden or pollinator areas, etc. I recently joined Keep Alice Beautiful Committee. Hopefully this a new beginning.
      Thank you. Take care. ✨💗💐🌟🙏🍃💖🌌🌎🌱📚

I live in Portland, OR. We have 60 community gardens and they all have multiple year wait lists. There can never be enough gardens, imo. Unfortunately, many empty plots remain empty as landowners wish to make big bucks selling the space to developers.

    Great!
It seems that in many areas there are untold acres of land that are not nicely utilized. At the same time how many people are lacking food and water security?
Thank you for sharing helpful and informative videos!

If someone has the facilities & resources there is land for sale at auctions and some real estate agents have blighted properties for sale.
Might be interesting to check around and see if some old farm owners might be interested in subdividing their hundreds of acres into 1-5 acre "small farm" properties. Sell to all of the cruelty free organic homesteaders.
Beyond financial resources it does take motivation, enthusiasm, dedication, health, fitness; as well as having the dream.
Try self help videos to enthuse, motivate, and educate.
      Thank you

    How do you make money

If you are referring to how to make money growing produce, let me introduce you to the Center for Crop Diversification. Here you will find crop profiles, budget models, marketing options. Start by thinking about your local market and where you might sell your product. Narrow it down to 3 or 4 options then research all you can about growing, equipment needed, time required, and profitability. Start small and expand if it is successful. Growing vegetables will not make you money overnight but if could be a potential modest source of income. www.uky.edu/ccd/
