Love James and his Secret Stuff!
You brought Dale?!
Please do this again!
I watch and learn from you both and there’s a whole new level of experience that comes out when y’all interact.
Thx!
So great to see you both together! Wonderful interview!
I watch your videos often , this one had a different vibe to it. Felt a lil challenged. When you mentioned toward end about his lot you said, know you now what you can do w a basic suburban lot it almost felt like an insult toward his space. I watched his face change a lil. Not sure how many suburban lots you've been on but his isn't basic. I've lived in several cities and his large is quite yard. I'd love to have his yard space. He's created a beautiful space. Nothing basic about it.
A collab I did not expect! My two favorite gardening channels... Looking forward to it.
The best two gardening channels on TH-cam
I'll 3rd that 🎉😅
I was just going to say that!☺
Right!!! I love these too. They aren't in my zone but if he can keep his southern zoned trees alive so can I.
@@ArtistCreek😃😂
Holy moly!!! I was SHOCKED when I saw the BOTH of you together!! I had to drop everything and WATCH THIS. I absolutely love both your channels. Seriously, you two are my go to garden gurus. Not only for the great information, tips and tricks I learn, but also the quality of your videos. Both of you are awesome!
Ditto!
Thanks so much. That means a lot and is really appreciated.
Ditto from me also.
Yeah! You two are the best presenters out there...content is always clear, concise and creative! And those Jersey accents are so endearing!
Love you guys and everything you've done for this community!
The gardening community is truly the most wholesome, and this is a prime example. Love!
Glad you enjoyed it!
You make me feel so bad😊😂. Maybe... When I watch James I DO NOT have wholesome thoughts. Lol. They are both great. I've learned so much over the years!
I swear I've questioned if James' plants are even real because they always look sooo shockingly perfect! He definitely knows what he's doing.
Now we just have to get the 4 best gardening channels together... The Millenial Gardener, The Gardening Chanel with James Prigioni and Tuck, The Epic Gardener and Self Sufficient Me. Now that would be the bomb!
Maybe a trip to Australia is in order 😁
We would welcome you with open arms. Make sure you come for a while, as it is a really big place with a load to see and do.
That would be amazing!
Sorry guys, but the group is incomplete without Jess from Roots & Refuge! ❤
And don't forget Laura from Garden Answer. I love Roots and Refuge Farm too.
I love seeing collaborations and people supporting each other’s work. Thank you 😊
You're very welcome! I appreciate you watching.
Me too! Thank you! 😊
I’m 74 and started with a4x5’ garden patch when I was10. Radishes lettuce and bunch onions. My grandfather had farmed and ranched. Watch him in later years, I learned to grow root vegs. besides radishes. I went on to raise rabbit for meat and had a veg. garden. Basically just small veg gardens until we moved out of Ca into Oregon. At 55 I started larger garden patches, raising chickens. At 70 I planted a 16 tree orchard and put up a game fence to protect my investment. At 74 I replaced and planted 6 more trees. Happy to say that raising fruit trees and my own food is most rewarding in my Garden of Eattin!😋
Beautiful
Thanks for the inspiration, we're nearing retirement, just about doubled the size of the garden & now starting some fruit trees. Fruit trees...I'm terrified. 😁 But if you can do all you're doing at your age, I can figure out fruit trees at 60.
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful gardening life
The beauty of TH-cam is showcasing members of the community who have talents to share with the greater TH-cam community.
My two favorite garden channels! Awesome!
Thank you!
You two are the best gardening channels on the web.
Plus Eric from Epic gardening!
Plus Huw Richards and Charles Dowding

I've learned a lot from these two. MIgardener and No-Till Growers are great too!
@@Acts-1322no he’s a sellout that doesn’t really know anything he’s just a voice of people
Thanks for interviewing James. His energy has made him one of my favorite gardeners. And it introduced me to you.
I love that line....the gardeners who have smaller space end up being better gardeners. 👏👏👏
It's true. Anyone can grow food in a big open area. When you have less to work with, you have to get creative. It forces you to plan and design, and when you get into that mindset, you make better decisions and work smarter. Ample land and good growing conditions don't make good gardeners. Challenges do.
Excellent collaboration-thank you!
I appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
Be sure to tune in on Friday, April 19th at 4PM EST/1PM PST for the premier. Don't miss this one, folks!
So AWSOME to see this happening. Two of my favorite gardeners that I have learned so much from in the past year.
I'm soooooo excited!
Love to see this collaboration/interview.
James is great! We saw him interviewed on the Urban Gardener. You need to contact Enoch as well. Your turn to sit in the hot.... eer Green seat!
Love James & Tuck! Great to see you two supporting one another. 👍
What a surprise! I subscribed to James 3 years ago, and after starting to follow Your channel last year...I just subscribed TODAY. Reading the comments, I'm not surprised that MANY viewers are watching YOU TWO. Thanks, I hope You invited James to come to North Carolina to interview You! 🍅
I hope he comes down some day to tour 😀
I love to watch watch the Millennial Garden and also James Prigioni's Garden. So much good information and a pleasure to watch.
ADVENTURES WITH DALE AND TUCK!!!
I live in a townhome with a side, front and back garden space totalling about 2500 sq ft. I want to encourage people to garden and grow food. I'm 65 and husband 71. We grow organically with companion and trap plants. The best overall to deter bugs are Cayenne Pepper plants, Petunias , Nasturiums, and Mexican Marigolds. Depending on the time of year I grow 11 dwarf fruit trees, two types of Green Sage, Thyme, Oregano,Mint, Pineapple Sage, Parseley,Cilantro , Yerba Buena, Chives, Basil, Dill ,Bunching Onions, Strawberries, Spinach, Green beans, Zucchini, Butternut, Crookneck, and Spagetti Squash. Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Radiches, Poblano Peppers , Jalepeno, Anaheim Peppers Cayenne Peppers, Red, Yellow and Green Bell Peppers, Arugala, Chard Cabagge , Kale, Garlic. My yard has decorative bulbs, flowers, miniature pine trees, Clematis,. I think that the diversity of plants confuses the bugs, and draws in birds, toads and predator bugs. It still looks very nice which is a lot of the work " arrangeing the garden each spring" Here in North Carolina there is every bug known to man and maybe a few more ! One trick against the vine borer : Start Zucchini squash seeds indoors in Dec or Jan, then plant them out asap when the weather warms. That way you beat the vine borer. Then plant Zucchini seeds again mid July outdoors and get a second crop also beating the vine borer's 3rd rgg laying. Don't grow Zucchini in summer. Also my other Squash like Butter nut is literally grown in a forest of Mammoth Dill and Cayenne Peppers to watd off squash bugs and bine borers. DO NOT A SQUASH BUG THE SMELL BRINGS IN MORE OF THEM. DO NOT PUT GARDEN LIGHTS BECAUSE THEY ATTRACT BUGS ! Use a fire pit when entertaining. Make Smudge sticks with herb trimming and flower dead heading. Put Bat boxes, birds houses. Spray Zucchini with a milk water combo in the sunlight not in the evening to prevent powdery mildew. Water only in the morning or if absolutely necassary just gently water the dirt, avoiding the leaves , and NO SPASHING dirt spores up on plants. I wash dry chop and freeze Basil,Dill , Chives. Bunching Onions and Parseley so I have them all winter for cooking. Sage and Thyme thrive in zone 8b winters. I blanch and freeze the greens. Roast chop and freeze hot peppers. I can fruits, vegatables and dry herbs. Leek powxer is great in soup. I hot water bath can "Candied Jalapenos". I make Mint syrup for cocktails. Put a little 100% Moonshine in it and it lasts along time in the fridge. Well folks gotta get busy ! I hope someone is inspired !
"Start small, start slow"- perfect advice and advice I wish I would have been given when I started gardening 13 years ago. I tell people to learn a lot about a couple of plants each year instead of a little about a lot of plants all at once. What a great collab!
This is so cool. Two of the best gardeners! I'm 70! So you youngsters have a long way to go! Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing!
Think how great they will be when they are our age! I love watching both of them too. James inspired me to plant asparagus and strawberries under my pear trees. This year I am getting a beautiful harvest! Thanks, James!
It's great to see younger generations pick up the gardening torch! Happy gardening!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Two universes collide!!!
What’s growing on and what’s going on!
lol
Wow
Thanks for watching!
Two heavyweights of gardening!!! So cool seeing them together!! GOD bless to you both!
Thank you!
Giacomo, Antonio.... Do you know how long I've been waiting to watch two Italo-Americans have a sit down like this? At least ever since you started the teaser a few days ago! Love you guys!
It's kinda killing me. I wish I was more grounded in my early 20's. for me there was no Netflix at the time.
I love the discussion about growing in a small space. One of my uncles growing up grew hundreds of pound of cucuzzi on a lot 14 feet wide!
Great to see doing this together.
Loving the grape arbor. Had one of those growing up. Unfortunately around here raccoons get most.
Raccoons are evil. Take defensive measures!
Literally the only 2 gardeners I watch. This is awesome! 👌
Thank you!
The internet needs this.
I love James Prigioni, his garden info is wonderful.
Great interview love both of your gardening channels.
Thank you! I appreciate it!
WOW! I can't believe that you went to James garden! So amazing to see two gardeners that I love in the same video! hehe 😄 Thank you for this, it was incredible! 🙂🎈
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
My favorite gardeners, yessss! And of course❤ For Tuck
That was an awesome collaboration. I've been organic gardening for decades - and watching you and James for years. I always learn something new from you both to utilize in my own gardens. So enjoy the pups, Tuck and Dale - the gardening fur-babies.
Blessings. Sherry 🥰 🙏 🐶🍅🧅🫑🍎🍇
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
James, someday when you sell your house, that food forest will definitely be a unique feature.
Great collaboration guys... Thank you!!
Hey ! I am liking seeing my two gardeners together.
Bravo!
Thank you!
True. These are good guys.
No way! Y’all and Epic Gardening are the main garden channels I turn to daily for help. Doing my first garden this year and it’s been a journey! We have red clay soil with hard pan so I made a raised bed and I’m currently clearing dead trees and briars to make a much larger in ground garden for NEXT year. Gotta prep and amend the soil and all that good stuff but I can do it with y’all’s help!
Sounds like west Texas. Raised beds are a must in clay soil. This is my first vegetable garden and d I literally watch these two everyday. I’m in central New Mexico and we have sand and clay. Fun stuff.
3 of my favorites too. James taught me I could grow tomatoes and etc.. in partial shade. About your Clay soil. Nate just put up a video on how he preps his clay. Garden Like a Viking. On another not We were having such a difficult time starting seeds. Always leggy. Our light were way too high up. That 1870s homestead with Rachel and Todd. So much to learn. Lots of lessons to learn by experience. We have a wonderful garden family including the comments.
True that! @@smas3256
You definitely can do it. My yard has been a labor of love for over 5 years. I've built it out basically one Saturday at a time, but it's amazing how far it's come over time. Keep it up and you won't even recognize the place after a few years.
Loved this. Thanks so much for your collaboration and efforts.
So cool to see you both in this video. Thank you both for all that you do and that you guys teach us. Hey Tuck, hey Dale...
Two of the youtubers that I watch consistently. it was great to see you both together.
Thank you! It was honestly a lot of fun.
Honestly I never set my notifications on. But when two of my favorite channels come together I do. Can't wait.
Me too!!!!!
Thank you for interviewing and visiting the Food Forest with James and Tuck. You both are an inspiration to all of us Gardeners out here.😊
This was GREAT! Thank you so much for interviewing James! Both of you are super inspiring and have the best tips.❤
I was not expecting a collaboration like this, but I am all for it! I enjoy watching both of you.
Two of my favorites!! Been following both of you for some time now and learning so much! Of course, Tuck amd Dale are pretty awesome, too ❤🐾❤🐾❤
I giggled when I saw the title. 2 of my favorite TH-camrs colab. It was great. You both have inspired me. I give my food forest and fig tree success to you two. Thanks
Hey guys, very cool video! I'm a Philly area gal (Bucks County) now living in southern Maryland. Just a FYI, more property doesn't equal more productivity. We have 3 acres and the wildlife is way more destructive. Groundhog families, moles, voles, deer, raccoons and squirrels roam free. A more challenging gardening experience than a suburban plot. Don't let anyone tell you deer don't eat asparagus....
I agree with this! We have 5 acres in south Jersey, but the deer are oppressive snd NJ deer eat everything!
Land can be a challenge. It's all in the management. I personally consider fences mandatory for gardening for the reasons you mentioned. My plan would be to take the acreage and subdivide it into quarter acre plots that are individually fenced. Grow the edibles with fencing, then connect them one at a time with pathways planted with native support plants that are deer and bird resistant in between. That's my personal plan for the future, anyway.
I’ve got old pecan trees but I see squirrels grab them and am amazed how they crack them . I hope they have a dental plan👍🏻
You two are the only ones I subscribe to!!! I bought 6 gardenbeds through James because he works so hard!
Thank you! And thanks for supporting James!
Love James Prigioni!!!
That was a massive joy!!! Thank you.
This is one of my favorite videos, with both of my favorite gardeners! I really liked hearing how James came to be such an epic teacher in gardening. I want to make my whole yard garden so that I can have tons of produce to donate to my local food bank. I am so impressed with both the Millennial Gardener and James beautiful gardens.
Best collab ever
Thank you!!
It would have been epic to see Dale and Tuck together as well❤❤❤🐕🐶❤❤❤
I wish I could get Dale on an airplane 😆
@@TheMillennialGardener So I guess you didn't drive to Jersey 🤔😁🐕
This was an excellent interview!
Proves that gardeners are the nicest people! 😊
Forgot to add - we tried your shade cloth trick to delay our fruit trees from breaking dormancy this year. IT WORKED PERFECTLY! This will be the first year in 7 seasons that we'll get peaches, plums and nectarines. We have schizophrenic shoulder seasons here with late frosts (just like your area - we are not far from you) and have never successfully saved our early developing fruits in previous years.
The shade cloths kept the covered trees asleep until we were past all the hard frosts. We woke our frost vulnerable trees up at the appropriate time and now we have wonderful peaches, plums and nectarines developing all over our trees.
Multiple neighbors, who've lived here all their lives, told us it was impossible to successfully grow these fruits here due to the late/erratic Spring frosts. Yet, now we have what look likes a bountiful harvest of each type coming our way thanks to you.
We are absolutely thrilled and SO grateful to you. Thank you so much for your brilliant ideas, and for sharing your brilliant ideas and breakthroughs with the rest of us. You are an incredible blessing to the gardening community. God bless you!
Garden tours are always fun. Always great to see how everyone lays things out. The different styles, combinations, etc.
It's nice to see how other people do things. It sparks creativity.
Wha…! When gardening worlds collide! Great collab, gentlemen. 👍🏻 It was fun to see the naked off-season garden of James! NJ is the Garden State, y’all.
This is my husband's account haha I have been watching you guys for so long now! My husband and I have a porch garden and we've managed to use some of the space beside the apartment building which has been amazing!! You have taught me so much about container gardening and my neighbors love it! Everyone stops and admires how amazing we are doing and even want to buy some of the produce we have lol
My 2 most favorite gardeners-Woo Hoo!
My two favorite professors right here. Good choice MG!!!!
I concur on the favorite gardening professors! But this interview brings up a question I've always had: will we ever get to know The Millennial Gardener's name??? ;-)
That’s part of the fun right. Anonymity is good. I refer to him as MG. I thought it was odd to learn that he said he doesn’t get recognized a lot.
Thanks! It was a lot of fun.
Came here to say that we all absoliteky adored this! Props to James' brother as well! Thank you for doing this guys! Also what an honour to meet Tuckie too! As always, we learned alot from you three! Oh and go hard dale ❤ three little girls yell oit excitedly "Dale!!!!!🎉"

Wow, this was fun! I love James Prigioni and watch all his videos. I think he is brilliant!
"People don't usually see me over the shelves "😂😂😂. That killed me. I'm a bit vertically challenged, so I'm not hating but I literally was just thinking that you two standing next to each other would be like Shaq and Kevin Hart. Perfect timing
