- I’m sharing my experience sewing the Kalle Shirt, a super popular and stylish pattern by Closet Core Patterns! From fabric selection to pattern adjustments, I’ll cover everything you need to know about making this versatile and modern shirt. Whether you’re into sewing trendy shirts, looking for a beginner-friendly pattern, or want inspiration for your next sewing project, this video is for you! I’ll also talk about tips for achieving the best fit, working with shirt fabrics, and how the Kalle Shirt works for casual and elevated looks. Let me know in the comments if you’ve made the Kalle Shirt or if it’s on your sewing list!
The shirt actually looks great - but as someone who always does an FBA, I agree with your thinking. It’s not just about available ease, it’s about sufficient space/shape exactly where it’s needed. I just think an FBA always improves the overall fit - but this is a great blouse for you! 😊
Thanks, Moira! When I make the Kalle again, I plan on doing an FBA. Are you currently sewing anything?
I hope you feel better soon. I think your blue dress with a sequin belt will be fabulous.
Yes yes yes regarding the black shirt with the skirt. Great transition to summer.
Hi Carol. I love your Closet Core Kallie tops. I don’t own that pattern because I wasn’t sure if I would wear it. Seeing your shirts makes me think I would like the top.
I missed joining your zoom. My Saturday’s are so busy, it’s difficult to fit in extra things. I do hope to join you again one day though. Have a great week. 😊
Hi Cynthia! I hope you're able to join us again on Saturday! I haven't watched your latest video, but saw the thumbnail and loved the dress! I have to catch up on everyone's Friday Sews because I'm really curious about the fabric and the pattern.
Love the shirts & the top. The black/Lemon shirt is cute 🙂
Thanks, Deb. I was surprised at how much I like the black/lemon shirt too!
both of your kalle's are very nice! i like the lemon one a lot. it'll be perfect for summer.
Hi Sara! I was surprised at how much I liked the lemon shirt too. I plan on putting a pocket on the white Kalle and embroidering (machine) a design that - hmmm - is a subtle message of my resistance! 😉 (and now one will really know, unless their staring at my pocket!)
Love the Kalle's! They turned out great!
Thanks, Lorraine!
Hi Carol! Sorry you're not feeling well. I like your toile. I'm sitting here listening to you cutting out a pattern right now that I'm not sure of the measurements😮😅😮
Hi, I empathize with your cold. I'm in the same place with trying to get energetic enough to sew. Oh, I SEW love that lemon print shirt. Isn't it awesome when fabric that is questionable turns out so beautiful sewn up? I love the look of the pleated shirt. I would use something crisp but very, very lightweight. I question whether you would really need a sway back adjustment with that pattern because the pleats hang from the yoke and it is very full/loose fitting and won't be pooling in the small of your back. I think the sequence belt is a terrific idea with the dress. I can't wait to see it finished. ☃ Bernadette
Hey Bernadette - I'm sorry you've got a cold, too! Isn't it terrible? And mine is just hanging on! I was SEW surprised when I tried on the lemon shirt because I thought it was cute too! I like your advice on the pleated shirt. One of the ladies in our weekly zoom call said the same thing -that I wouldn't need a sway back adjustment because of the pleats hanging the way they do. If you ever want to join our "sewing circle" call on Saturday mornings, send an email to pollysews22@gmail.com and I'll send you a link. We meet every Saturday at 7:00 am PST. Take care - I hope you feel better soon.
