    Interesting to learn that the Mavic 2 is not quieter than its predecessor. I suppose DJI did tests in a soundbooth rather than out in the field where most people use their drones.

    • @szymonlorenz7254
      @szymonlorenz7254 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      sound levels are the same, it's about the pitch levels that differenciate one from another. Mavic 2 Pro is 200g more than the Pro 1 so new props combined with new ESC needs to produce much more thrust / throttle than previous on to keep at least same flying performance but we know already that pro 2 is faster than pro 1. So that gives you idea.

  • @kevinfranco305
    @kevinfranco305 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Good videoo!! You should have left the two propellers of the pro 2 in the front and use the other 2 on the back.😁

    Great test, to the point and informative! Wondering how much DB the Mavic 2 makes at 120 meters, as that is the maximum flight height where I live. Or alternatively: at what altitude would it be impossible to hear it? Cheers!

    I swear my Platinum is much louder now than a year ago when I first got it. It used to sound like the Pro 2 does here, nice and low hum and now it sounds like it screams more. I also recently bought new low noise props directly from the DJI website and same thing.

    Could you test them against a Parot Anafi,
    I heard its more silent, but its hard to compare without the equipment you have.
    It got less weight smaller props so it could be more silent.

      not really possible to add a bunch of sensors without adding a bigger battery to keep the overall flight time, thus increasing the size of the whole package.... I think it's a good thing we get more technology (including a 1" sensor) while keeping the same flight time and with very minimum size increase.... I also believe that launching the mavic platinum was a marketing and engineering strategy to both make money and test the new and quieter ESC+propeller, rather than having this technology seating there without making money and increasing the chance of failure of the overall all new package... but ofc that's just what I think :)

      @keithdornin6215 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pedro I think you missed the point. The Platinum is still very excellent drone. And it comes in a little quieter which what is was designed for when I’m on assignment making money and I put that in the air everything me always impressed at how loud it is. Love how Flytpath went through the trouble. Now I’m not blowing $1500 on the newest right away.

    • @pedrovieira4313
      @pedrovieira4313 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not saying the Platinum isn't a good drone, I currently have the Pro and it will always be one of my favorite drones even after getting the Pro 2, I'm just saying that if someone were to be basing their purchase on sound compared to a camera, I would prefer to get a drone that is a little louder because it has a 1 inch sensor, etc. Sorry if it came off that way.

    One thing: Decibels are logarithmic, so an increase in 10 decibels is doubling the perceived sound and an increase in 6dB is doubling the actual sound.

    • @christiankohlhaas6273
      @christiankohlhaas6273 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah but as the Platinum is quieter it would be interesting if it would lower the M2Ps sound level.
      Smaller size/less lift by the props should be compensated by the ESCs.
      And given its a rather static test rush should be low.

    • @bobbrown8661
      @bobbrown8661 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Smaller props might need to spin faster to maintain the same lift. Educated guess

      Jeffrey Yoon Not a good idea - the prop sets are engineered specifically for each drone body type. The M2P is a larger drone compared to the original MP and MPP bodies. It would be a bit like trying to put Spark props on an MP1.

      I actually ordered one as well as soon as I saw it on this channel. I never took the pgy ‚circle‘ pads along as they are too large or a pain to fold. I am pretty sure that the square and foldable pgy landing mat ‚pro‘ version is much easier to carry along in my drone bag and to setup. 😀

      Probably not a good idea. M2 motors will have to work harder due to the MPP props being smaller (both length and width) and thus providing less lift than the stock propellers.
