    James I done the same as you brought some spacers for mine but aint fitted them yet, lol. put them in the shed and then they got berried somewhere, maybe time to get them out and fitted. Same as yours mate 15mm spacers. Nice to see the mondeo again, love the orange gloves. Hope your staying safe mate.

    I think the 15mm was a good choice.
    A noticeable difference without being borderline illegal and attracting unwanted attention.

    I don't like using angle grinder too, when it is not really necessary. I would probably try it with the reciprocating saw first, even though it is slower. I feel much more confident, using it instead of angle grinder, whenever I can.

    I ran to the same issue with the 15mm spacers. So, I returned them and went with the DZX spacers with shaft nuts at 12.5mm and worked like a charm ;)

    I have break drums in the rear and had the opposite problem: Too short! So popped out the OEM shorter threads and replaced with the longer after market threads with my THOR HAMMER to make way for my 15mm spacers. Thanks bruv. Another great video!

    Rear subframe bushes are the ones to keep an eye on. Knocking sound from rear over rough surfaces are give away. Polybush is the best repair. The estate version don't have the bushes so are less trouble.

    Do you know anything about the petrol engines? I had a rear spark plug blew out which I'm hoping I've fixed. Upon reassembly I've got a lose hose that comes off somewhere. One end goes into the engine and i don't know where the other end goes. I believe it's something to do with fuel.

Little tip i learnt from fitting doors if you get a small amount of paint on the end of the threds then whilst its wet just put the wheel on if would transfer and show on the back if there was contact , its a handy thing for clearances .. top work ive got power steering pump and service to do on my mondeo next week

    Angle grinders cause more injuries than any other power tool, so be afraid if you want to. Will you be able to carry three mates in the back without any rubbing of the tyres? Ford chose that offset for the wheels because it is a family wagon and expected to be loaded with passenger and luggage

  • @arthurdardalis
    @arthurdardalis 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Great video, thanks for that, I think you’re fine with 15mm. Most manufacturers have a 15mm “limit” so that there isn’t any additional strain on the wheel bearings. One thing I don’t miss from the UK is the rust!!Ex-pat living in Greece.

  • @MrAmorti

    FYI Screwfix is still open during the lockdown, for buying tools etc.. You have to Buy online, or use the phone app to buy the items. Then you just collect direct from the store. They are not taking orders at the stores. So you have to do it via an app and then collect.
