    Looks good I tried your method for taking the creases out of the toe box with the heat gun with my travis scott 1's it worked like a charm only thing I didn't listen on taking the laces out and burned them luckily it was the black laces which are easy to replace

    • @VintageKicksGallery
      @VintageKicksGallery  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Been there a few times! At least it was the laces and not the tongue. When I was first learning this method, I melted right through a tongue at the stitch line. That was an expensive mistake..

    What is the specific uv spectrum that activates the cream? I heard that it’s the 300-400nm range only. If that’s the case then a full spectrum grow light is actually not worth buying since 300-400nm is the blue/purple CRI spectrum and that is the spectrum of a black light. So maybe you can find a powerful black light or a powerful T5 desert reptile light that would work better and cost less.

    can you explain in detail the timings for exposing the sneaker in to UV rays, you said something about re doing the salon 40 in between, didnt get it, thanks

    • @charlobuquis1166
      @charlobuquis1166 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m not speaking for him, but like with my indoor set up, the salon care 50 can dry. Once it does, it prevents maximum UV exposure from hitting. So remove & reapply every few hours. I place my UV box outside at night & it seems to prevent the SC50 from drying

    Hey man, I got a question. I just bought some off white Jordan 4's second hand and the colour of the shoe is darker than usual, its not dirty so idk what it could be. (its a dark cream colour and its supposed to be light cream), do you think bleaching it would brighten the colour back to off white?

    • @VintageKicksGallery
      @VintageKicksGallery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you talking about the uppers, the midsole, or the outsole? I wouldn't do bleach regardless but it depends on which section to address the other areas.

    • @realquick
      @realquick 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VintageKicksGallery the uppers, theyre like dark cream colour and it throws the whole shoe off. pretty sure the material is suade. Tried cleaning it with soap but it didnt come out, so its definitely not dirt

    • @VintageKicksGallery
      @VintageKicksGallery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@realquick I wonder if this is due to a sneaker protection spray like Crep? I've seen some brands darken uppers before. Is it consistent throughout or blotchy? One thing you could dry is to use some Dawn (or any dish soap really) and try cleaning a SMALL area and let it dry really well to see if that lightens things. Dish soap is really good for taking out oils.

    Why couldn't you use a light on the left and right side of your box. Then suspend the sneakers using wires through the top lace holes. Ya know to get both sides at once🤔

    • @VintageKicksGallery
      @VintageKicksGallery  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would probably work but I get paranoid the salon care would drip down due to gravity and get on the uppers. Generally, I do each side so the surface lays flat and that isn't a risk. Also, most of the time I do the actual bottoms of the soles too. When the sides aren't too bad, you can get away with doing it all in one shot.
