    Another brilliant video Katie,
    Ive been 90% plant based for about 2 years but having a gluten intolerance going completely PB has always seemed tough. However having watched Game Changers recently and continuing to watch your videos I decided to give it a go and I have been completely PB for the last 4 weeks, and am feeling great for it.
    So im really looking forward to this video series to look for recipes and tips.
    Keep up the good work, you really are an inspiration to me and many many others ✌️

      Tom that's ace!! Well done you. One thing I would say is don't be hard on yourself if you do have a 'slip up'. It's not black and white, and just concentrate on eating more plant based foods. The more you eat the more your body will want. I never crave anything non-vegan because I make sure I eat enough cals. Honestly though, Tom, top stuff, after 4 weeks you're definitely well into it now! And thank you so much for the lovely words! x

    Hi Katie! I’m so excited for these videos 😊 thank you for making them! I know from your old videos you used to follow the RT4 diet, what are your thoughts on that? Have you noticed changes in your weight loss from eating RT4 to eating more wfpb?

    Switching to a plant based low fat lifestyle is the best thing I've ever done. There's a real 'Aha' moment when the folly of eating meat & diary becomes apparent. I no longer take meds for high blood pressure or cholesterol. Good for me good, for the planet & good for the animals. Hope the temps drop for you during the tour down under. Adelaide was 41 degrees this week!

New lifestyle gave me the energy to walk the camino Frances earlier this year. 900+km from St Jean Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostela then onto the sea at Muxia & Finisterre.     GDay from Oz. Weight loss and appetite isn't just the food you eat.
    Care to comment on
    what time you go to sleep, sleep quality and quantity, siestas?
    What you do about salt intake when sweating heavily (in tropics)
    Hydration off and on the bike.
    How your appetite and cravings changed over your journey.
    Does stress cause you unhealthy cravings?
    Do you drink alcohol?
    Did you have any health issues before vegan? apart from obesity? i.e. diabetes, IBS, etc.

    another ace video, could you please do a video on how you keep fuelled on them big audax rides, i personally pour suger in my drinks bottles, eat bananas, flapjack, and them little boxes of raisins, keeps me fuelled up, keep the great videos coming 😊👍

    Have you considered food pairing, I found out recently that if you drink tea or coffee with your meal, the caffeine in it can stop the iron in your food from being absorbed into your system, if you eat foods high in vitamin c this helps to absorb the iron from your food..

      Yes exactly right. So it's the tannins I believe in tea and coffee that stop the absorption of iron. So drink them a least a few hours away from meals. But yeah that's why I use the spirulina with orange juice to get it packed into my body!! :)

    Spirulina is horrible, no matter what it goes in. I'd rather eat the moss that grows on my path outside the house. Guess its like marmite or brussel sprouts you either love it or hate it. I do the batch cooking thing but often get fed up with the same menu day in day out unless it goes in the freezer and swap it around that way. Some ideas, so thank you.

      Haha to be honest I was the same when I started eating it. The fresh stuff is WAY nicer than the dried. The powders taste really bitter but the fresh is pretty creamy.

    If you like black beans, you could look into a Costa Rican dish called Gallo Pinto! It's so delicious. You can get the sauce to make it from hot-heads.com . I'm WFPB but I make an exception for Salsa Lizano since it's just so good!

    Thanks for the disclaimer at the start. Asian stores good for bulk buying esp chickpeas, beans, mint, coriander etc. Unicorn is somewhat expensive imo. Your viewers may find that planning ahead as you do will be hard. Also mood/weather/light of the (lack of) makes us crave carbs/fats. Family meals also become hectic if mum/dad is eating 'wierdy stuff'. Food industry spend £££ to make us eat processed food.

      Yeah there's some great stores to get cheap rice, nori, and veggies. Unicorn is mixed, fresh organic veg will be more expensive but oat milk is almost half price compared with the supermarkets. Shop around :) But I love supporting Unicorn

    You want to loose weight simple drop your calorie intake, ride your bike more and it doubles acceleration, I tryed high carb all last yr, my times are faster with meat and real protein my body recovers way better as well, I can ride more miles etc, what works for some don’t work for all, nice video Katie,

      Plant based proteins are lower quality and they consume a lot of sugar which isn't good either.
      Leaving out animal products is one big mistake, meat is much more than B12.
      There are so many ex-vegan youtubers. Vegans all quit at some point because of malnourishment.

    Thoughtful of you to let us know about your daily food intake, obviously I can't have enough pasta ! 😆 won't lie about it I'm no vegan, even though I relish vegan food and hope to learn more about vegan recipes in the future so keep it up ! Also at times I swap rice for pearly barley and hulled wheat even 🥣

    Hi there my weight was 87kg i started cycling daily of 50km to 60km lost 8kg in 2 months

      Amazing, and should say for me it's not always about weight loss but how I felt and even eating this way when I was heavier I felt so much happier. So look at your mental state too. Because I could lose another 10kg by calorie restricting but for me I know I would be miserable.

    I work in a place where i dont have access to any form of cooking equipment, can you suggest some lunchbox ideas i can take in to help eat properly instead of the far too easy walk to the shop for rubbish

      Is there a kettle? If so make your own 'pot noodle'. Dried noodles, frozen veggies, stock cube or miso paste and add boiling water. Or cold pasta salad, cold rice salad, smoothies.

    Plain n' Simple but sweet chilli sauce takes care of it ! I get through so much of the stuff i sometimes have to make my own so i don't get too much salt..

      Ahhh sweet chilli is the best! But has soooo much salt. The best one is the Tesco own brand - a fraction of the salt and wet tasty!

    Brilliant, I thought you might be vegan, I was right and I'm even more glad I subscribed now. You're totally right about oil, sticks the red blood cells together giving you immediate temporary anemia, in effect. Also suppresses immune system. All of which you probably already know!

      Yeaaaa Bobby! Sure am, vegan since May 2012 and never felt better. Oil is definitely not for me, I much prefer low fat meals. Apart from the odd bag of crisps on mega long rides. :) So you're vegan too?

      Yeah course, so it's taken around five years but my weight has been the same for around a year I would say. It's been really slow and steady weight loss - nothing dramatic week by week. Best way to be able to keep it off long term .

    Great video Katie. I was vegan for 4 years. Tried high carb, tried fruit heavy, tried starch heavy, tried wfpb. Long story short I managed to really mess up my gut health. I reluctantly had to go back to eating some animal products and my health’s got a lot better for it. I’m hella jealous of you being able to eat the meals you do (high carb vegan food is without a doubt the best food on earth) but oats, beans, potatoes, wheat etc just kill me.
    I don’t even know where I’m going with this. I guess I’m trying to to say that I fully support your way of eating! And i know that it works great for some people! But unfortunately not for everyone. Wish I could stay plant based but at the moment it’s just not possible.

    To me cycling isn´t about weight loss but improve your fitness. Weight loss is only a good side efect :)

      Mário Simas ...depends on your reason, lots of people use cycling for weight loss , you cannot be fit if your over weight so this is a win win, weight loss and fitness. Fantastic results for Katie as an example, many others have achieved great results through cycling also.

    I lost 30 kilo I was diabetic. I have two question first Why are you vegan. Your pre life you where a fastfood lover. Second question Why you use sugar.

      Willem Ritsema vegan for the animals and sugar for your health. No shit sugar actually helps insulin sensitivity if you keep the fat low in your diet. It can reverse diabetes!

      Low fat and high sugar makes cells stiff. Imagine stiff blood vessels and one bursts in your brain. A stroke.

      Humans are omnivores we must eat everything animal products vegetables in majority and sugar is the last thing you want.

    Losing weight is not rocket science. Burn more calories than you consume together with regular exercise and hey presto you will loose weight.... Not all fats are the same, some are bad some are good. Good luck on this series, you may have bitten off more than you think !!!

      I guess flavouring food. I’m not vegetarian. I’m cutting down on eating meat. Last month I had a meat free month but struggled with flavouring. I like the look of your bean chilli so will be cooking that.
      When you started out cycling, how many times/miles were you cycling. Sunday cycling for me isn’t a problem as I cycle with a club. Through the week I struggle juggling cycling time with work. In the summer I can cycle to work (9 miles total) but don’t feel confident cycling in winter. I plan on getting on the rollers.
