    I have known Doireann O Mahony since she was a wee wain.
    She has become a very beautiful successful young lady.
    From a shy poco Senorita to a bombastic advocate.
    Staunch defender of the Weak against the Strong.
    Thank you to the Two Norries for highlighting this National Treasure, a Princess amongst her peers.
    Salutè La Passionàte.
    Sigue con el buen trabago , James and Timmy💃

    Brilliant talk, yes it's difficult to remove yourself from abusive relationships. We feel insecure and actually believe the abused is going mad. It's important to tell someone and to walk but circumstances can dictate how you walk. It happens eventually and unfortunately some older generations stayed until death. Life is for living not for being alive and actually being dead.

    Tragic this is still happening in this day and age, I had 14 years of it in my marriage. I also hate that question why did you stay! Jesus! The real question is WHY do some men do it??

    Great interview, very valid point that this happens from both ends both male and female. Family Intervention being key for Doireann. Often when your in the ring it is hard to get out as you cannot see a way.Important to have good family and real friends to trust and support the recovery path. In some situations also important to acknowledge the person behaving in this way towards partners, wifes, husbands e.t.c. is also in need of help if open to taking responsibility. Doireann (42.30) Forgiveness and not carrying the burden being Key to healing. ( Good reading on the topic by Lundy Bancroft - Why Does He Do That, Inside The Minds Of Angry & Controlling Men)

    Well I hope that man sees this and it impacts on him somewhere deep inside, and that he goes to get the treatment that he needs to stop abusing women. What a horrific 5 years. Well done for speaking up in spite of the fear. Bravery is doing it while we’re shaking with fear. You’re brave. I love these podcasts. They’re straight from the heart and we all need emotional honesty for any change to ever happen with any issue in life that’s thriving in the dark.

    So sorry Doreen had to go through this. Cruel people like this should be on a register. She has learned a hard lesson and what was has happened to her will always be there. She will be a huge advocate for people in the future. Most experts will have been taught through education. However the person who has been there, done that, know the narrative is the one to listen to. Looking forward to reading 📚 her books. Know she is and will be hugely successful in her career but still has this ✝️ to carry and which will never go away. Hope this person has meet his match and that he in turn is the one being bullied

    Great insights here. I reckon u have to go the first time it happens. In ways there's a responsibility to report or expose these people cause thel do the same to other people. They should be put on some sort of register.

    • @KeeHart
      @KeeHart 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Very hard to walk away first time because they have control over you long before they start and you have yourself fooled that they're really sorry etc and it'll never happen again but I fully agree that they need to be on a register to warn everyone about them.

      You’re absolutely right, I was the first in what appears to have been 20/30 women all experiencing the same from the one person but no one had ever reported it which didn’t help me at all. Emotional, psychological, physical and significant financial abuse; all following a well practiced routine of his where there were zero consequences

    Commendable 🏅the law has changed but the police do not understand law and there lies the problem. Police just victim shame, why didn’t you leave. Why did you take him back etc
