I wonder if Vrabel would consider/interview Josh McCown for his OC? McCown is well liked in our building and he's clearly doing a good job right now as the QB coach in Minnesota. It would be interesting to see if he has any fresh ideas for an offense.
Everyone has been saying for two years that the only reason we went and got hacket was for aron rogers 3 months before aron was even released from GB, if aron wasn't getting released months later hacket wouldn't be there "the only reason hacket is there is because aron wanted him there". Apparently the jets tampering with coaches and players is a open secret so I wouldn't be surprised if he is already hired lol
I hate the idea of Rex Ryan having anything to do with the Jets. I don't want coordinators talking, I want them producing results. Rex's last 4 years as Jets HC were a mess. He kept talking about Super Bowls and they couldn't even make the playoffs.
First let me say - I don't consider myself a football scheme expert. However, my complaint throughout the Saleh/Ulbrich years has been the way their DBs emphasize back to the QB coverage. That results in 3 things - 1)Better than average sticky coverage, BUT... 2) Almost total lack of interceptions. 3) Vulnerable to QB scrambles. Add it up & although the numbers will look impressive, it only works with great def line play from front 4. Which is almost impossible to rely on year after year.
We need an alpha coach who is respected, tough but fair. A culture setter, who has done it before, without an elite QB, all signs point to Vrabel. Aaron Glenn was my favorite DB growing up, he will get his opportunity, I just think at this time in our franchise 's history, we need an HC who has done it before.
This is my number one choice. Vrabel last year with the Titans was hot trash but the owners and front is garbage and not let this man cook they traded away his assets that’s doing amazing right now.
If Vrabel, does that mean he might try to get AR to agree to a run heavy offense? Sort of like Manning in his last year at Denver? It would make sense with the offensive line looking better and the running backs we have. Would Vrabel get rid of Keith Carter and Hackett?
I'm not sure the AJ Brown move wasn't a Vrabel move himself, now with some of the smoke coming from the Eagles. Fool me once, but AJ Brown being part of the team drama AGAIN, tells me there's more to his locker room presence being less than desired.
Just because Vrabel is Jets #1 choice doesn't mean that he will be the new HC. Johnson may not be able to get him. Or there will be something about the job that Vrabel doesn't like. Same with GM choices. Also, Johnson likes to make big headlines. Some of the top organizations like to lay low and during the season show excellence.
Rumors are heavy that unless OSU wins the national championship, Day will be fired and Vrabel will replace him. It could happen this weekend as OSU has a tough matchup against Tennessee. If that happens, who's the second choice!
@@locoman888 No. We need an offensive mind to develop the young QB we'll need in the near future. Plus Rex is too blitz-happy. Draft actual good pass rushers like MacDonald.
Defense was less than expected from week 1 until Saleh's firing. Don't tell me this undisciplined bunch was going to turn it around. Undisciplined coach equals undisciplined players. You can't be a nice guy and command respect from "children ".
AR would never allow this, as Kingsbury runs a modern offense that AR won't run. That's why Hackett is in the building: to protect AR's ancient secret hand signal offense.
Kingsbury as OC? Sure, I’m ok with that. Kingsbury as HC? Fk no. He starts every season strong and ends horribly once d-coordinators figure out his offense. Horrible HC
@@Vandal1985 🤔 If they could figure out his Offense as HC, why couldn't they figure out his Offense as OC? Kliff has a History of Developing 2 Really Good Young/Rookie QBs, & Good Offenses, Kliff is exactly what we need. We don't need our 1000th Defensive Head coach to give us a Top 5 Defense & a Losing Record, pls spare us .
@ his offenses as OC were/are ranked among some of the best in college and the NFL. His offenses at Houston and Texas A&M were top 10 in every significant category outside of rushing. His offense this year in DC is top 5 in total yards per game and rushing yards per game with a rookie QB. Clearly he knows how to coach offense, but he’s atrocious coaching an entire team. Record as Texas Tech HC: 2013: 8-5, 2014 4-8, 2015 7-6, 2016 5-7, 2017 6-7, 2018 5-7 Record as AZ Cardinals HC: 2019 5-10, 2020 8-8, 2021 11-6 & 2022 4-13 How anyone can advocate for Kingsbury being and HC when he’s demonstrated he’s terrible at the role is beyond me. Also, I never advocated nor stated I wanted Vrabel or any coach as HC. I was pointing out how poor of an HC Kingsbury is.
Vrabel is the worst possible choice. You can't ignore his two years and the Jets need a completely new culture. Vrabel is just more of the same. Rex and Vrabel have similar resumes and look at Rex in his second job. The ultra conservative head coach is just not the way to go in today's NFL and Vrabel has shown to be and has been extremely stubborn about being super conservative on offense. All you need to do is look at the Top head coaches in the NFL and they are basically all offensive guys: KC- Offense Detroit Offense Minn Offense GB Offense Rams Offense Broncos Offense 49ers Offense Denver Offense Balt Special Teams balanced Chargers Offense So the guy we want to hire is basically nothing like the best head coaches in the NFL. Only the Jets
We went from a top 3 defense to a bottom 5 defense in a blink of an eye as soon as saleh left. This franchise is going in circles.
Spot on

Vrabel HC, Josh Mcown OC, and hear me out, this is probably a bad idea, but worth bringing up. Would Rex Consider being DC for Jets?
Why not? Pay him well.
Sign me up!!!

We need to do more homework on more coaches, I’m not sold on Vrabel..
I’d love Vrabel and Dmitroff collaboration.

This was my choice last off season! We always get it way too late! I hope we do land him! We need this!
Go Jets
Put me in the Chuckie Gruden camp.

Travel is a 3-4 guy. The entire front 7 needs an overhaul as the jets have 4-3 / 4-2 personnel.

Exactly BJF In that order

Pete Carrol ?
Too old.
Give Corley a shot but from what little I've seen...not promising.
Jeezuz F'N Christ how can we do the same Thing over & over, & expect a different result. Get an Offensive Coach, get Kliff Kingsbury!
