@@qsebring3930 to be fair, dark souls is relatively old, and the channel is still quite small and I don’t think TH-cam algorithms see these as worth recommending given the number of views and subscribers for the channel despite the amazing qualities of these videos.

I've got an idea for a run: Using only equipment you get in the area.
When you kill the area boss, you drop everything (weapons, shields, bows, catalysts, talismans, pyromancy flame, etc). But you can keep sorcery, miracles, pyromancies and arrows.
You cannot keep equipments from prevous area to the next, except for boss drops (like the demon catalyst for the centipede demon fight). You can use the oolacile catalyst and dusk set for the guardian fight. You can purchase items that are drops from the area, like demon great machete and demon great axe from demon ruins. You can use the moonlight butterfly boss weapons for the crystal cave. You can use the darksword and dark set for the kiln of the first flame.
I had an idea kind of like this, but this is WAY better than what I was thinking. This sounds like it’ll be hella fun 👀

@@kylesunshine2731 Kaathe can warp us to there and he gives the darksword and dark set, so I associated them to there. But I forgot you can use black knights weapons there, so that's not necessary.

It's the homing magic attacks and AoE that make it impossible. Otherwise you could just execute perfect rolling... conceivably. But all the rolling in the world can't avoid homing and AoE attacks

I STILL don’t know how to get people to watch your videos. I’ve been trying to make videos for 6 months, and the only people who have ever seen my videos are family that I’ve shown them to directly.
Are you supposed to advertise your shit on other peoples channels? It’s always seemed lame to do, and I’ve almost never went to see people who do. But if you don’t, what’s the alternative? Wait for TH-cam to bless you with putting you in someone’s recommended?
It seems damn near impossible to get seen on YT, but maybe it really does just come down to luck.
It’s incredibly discouraging seeing videos that take many hours to make sit at 0 views for months, but what can you do to improve? If nobody is watching, there’s no criticism to work off of. And if nobody is watching, what’s even the point? While videos are fun to make, they’re made to be seen right?

It feels like focusing purely on Dexterity with a +15 Longbow might have been better for quite a few bosses, especially Seath and the DLC ones. Moonlight Arrows are terrible against said bosses too.
27 strength 40 dex composite bow...highest dps with a bow.. ive done it a few times. my favorite build. you can get it right after you arrive at firelink.
@@BarkerVancity This guy knows what he’s talking about lol you do have to play from a closer range with the composite bow but it also shoots faster so it’s all around safer.

l done this challenge my self a long time ago and l found out than the composite bow is the best dps wise. The darkmoon bow is good but composite bow + hawk ring + feather arrow is the magic combo. (max damage even is the enemies are far from you)
the Composite is definitely the best one just due to its ridiculous base damage
I'm pretty sure it says so on the wikis as well, tho, so I am kind of confused as to why he would use Darkmoon here
I used the Pharis Bow because of length
@@icebrorottenmushroom1817 I thought I was going for that one too, due to its impressive name, but when do you really ever need the range? Aside from like Kalameet, none of the boss arenas are really large enough for it to matter, and you can just regulate the distance yourself easily
The Composite just has such an advantage in damage

My favorite thing about your channel is the blatant avoidance of cheese that you could technically get away with, but would make the challenge a joke. You keep the challenge a challenge and get by on game knowledge and skill. Great content man, keep it up!

whenever he gets mad he sounds like benson and I can’t get it out from my mind now
some of these bosses are pretty resistant to magic damage (artorias) so normal large arrows would have been more optimal.
I did one, highly recommend rushing new londo to grab the composite bow. Best one to use. All around a really fun build.

I personally attempted this challenge with the black bow of pharis for range, it works quite well with the scaling, and the composite bow for closer range

If it’s gonna be NG+ armor of thorns you could get it to +15 in NG so at least you have max defense for NG+
4 titanite slabs guaranteed in game
Siegmeyer questline = 1 titanite slab
Asylum demon2 = 1 titanite Slab
Crystal lizard in the great hollow in the hard to get cave = 1 titanite slab and Kalameet chest under the water fall = 1 titanite slab.
Last time I went to the Great Hollow for Siegmeyer's slab I somehow managed to get two extras from the lizards. I didn't even know what to do with them, lol
if the treehollow fails you the crystal caverns have some too.
Well also you can farm them from dark wraiths
But thats annoying
I feel like a fun run would be to farm a bunch of dragon scales and then take then into NG+ so you can do a Dragon Form only run.

This is amazing! Though I was kinda looking for you doing this (at least partially) with the dragonslayer greatbow since it looks badass and was my personal favorite bow in remastered
seeing the damage he does with the Darkmoon Bow, it becomes clear just how much better the Composite Bow was haha

How do you get so much damage out of it?
By the end of that bow run I had a divine +10 Avelyn for the skelly bois at Nito, cuz those sucked
@@kurtgrgelwrx8376 so yeah it doesn't scale well, and you wouldn't go about a normal build it to get it's max damage. You would need to to do a redtearstone ring and power within build with lightning infused for max dmg
@@kurtgrgelwrx8376 if your curious how you use power within and red tearstone without dying if you have low HP like 11vitality (deprived starting hp) and curse yourself and apply dusk crown ring to half your HP again the sanctus shields passive heal will actually negate the damage from power within then you are big damage class gannon

I know I am super, super late to the party but I truly cannot thank you enough for using music from Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. That game is criminally underrated, unknown, and unplayed. I LOVE that game, it was my first Castlevania, and would literally cut a finger off for a remake.
The videos are very interesting to watch and have insanely high production value for the amount of subs this channel has. Wish you the best of luck and will be eagerly waiting for more dark souls challenge videos.

Really cool challenge video! I used bows extensively, but not exclusively, in my runs through DSR, DS3 and Demon’s Souls. I might have to go back and give this one a try.
Now only in DS1 is my favorite challenge run that I frequently come back to, it always surprises me how strong the composite bow is

great video! only thing i would have suggested is using the greatbow to snipe kalameet yourself (without gough i mean), woulda been a cute addition to a bow only run
Interesting choice on archery only going for the moonlight bow and nice run. When I ran this challenge I went with the Composite Bow with large arrows for close up and Pharis Black Bow with feather arrow for sniping. I used poison arrows a bot to make life easier in some spots and also got the dragon slayer bow for fun. I really enjoyed the archer run a lot when I did it.
