Hm. This makes me think about... remember when regular mobs could be a threat to our characters? During TBC leveling, in particular here in Terokkar forest, in places like Tuurem, Firewing Post and Bonechewer Ruins you had to stay on your toes and if you pulled 3+ mobs at the same time it could get ugly. Nowdays... The growing escalation of player skill/power and raid power has left our characters so powerful that I no longer feel that involvement that I did back then. Also. Serious nostalgia attack.
Also, when the quests were a mishmash of random things instead of more or less one story. In Terrokar you did: - solve a mystery of a bombed outpost - aid a stranded caravan surrounded by hostile cults - support your own outpost with collecting supplies from the land and gaining a foothold - help outcasts get freedom from their former cult - battle a bunch of crazed gravekeepes turned necromancers - fight in a hostile takeover between two crimelords - investigate a cult and their failing attempts to subdue an uncontollable entity - banish said entity - discover a plot to summon an long forgotten legend - resummon that forgotten legend to kick its ass And some of these stories were even intertvined to some extent.
the music nowadays w/ WoW is very over the top for me. I love the crazy, grandeurous tracks for the opening screen and for the big moments, but for the most part it was pieces like this which have imprinted onto my soul and truly touched me. So much raw emotion in these old BC tracks. The sense of wonder and mystery of this strange, alien planet was brought to life for me through these sounds, which is something I can't quite say for the last few expansions.
The spider has challenged the wolf. The two reunite where it all began. As the wolf makes the first move, the spider is beaten badly. Over and over, the wolf shouts about how the spider left his homeworld and his pack to die. As the spider barely survives, it is revealed that his weapons... are all around them. He fires a bolt of his poison at the wolf, uses his spinnerets to shoot webbing to hold the wolf and walks over. The wolf roars. "YOU MADE ME WHAT I AM!" The spider hisses and replies with "stfu loser" and his venom tipped legs serrated the wolf's body, leaving him to rot, held fast by the webs.
My absolute favourite of all wow themes. I never played in this zone when it was popular and crowded - if it ever was. For me, this zone has always been a place of calm and quiet, with no people other than those traveling to Sethekk Halls. I went here to get the Mr. Pinchy achievement, and I remember fishing him up and using him, but my inventory was full. At a later time I logged on to find the magical crawdad box in the mail, meaning I got it on my first try!
Beautiful. Other world, other universe, the broken immensity expressed through music... perfect atmosphere. But, just one point, those aren't diamonds, those are terocones. They look brighty when they are fresh, but when they mature, fall, and then can be gathered.
Now that we've seen just how beautiful this place used to be (Talador), returning to this zone is quite heavy and depressing. Not to mention Shadowmoon Valley, which used to just be an ugly, shitty place to level but now gives my heart some pretty serious pain.
Trevor B. To be honest I always felt that way in every place where fel corrupted things, even in Felwood. Tho Terokkar didn't seem as bad as shadowmoon valley, now I realize how different it was...
i can't upvote this enough, its unbelievably beautiful. what an experience to have as a kid, lingering here, holding on to memories slightly distorted, of hidden paths and lost footsteps under the soothing beams of light.
I have been revising and this playlist is so good for revising to, it has no words so it isn't distracting but is calming and really well put together, thank you
If the players from that time (TBC) - myself included - would know what kind of casual shit WoW would turn into during WotLK then maybe no one would've whined so much... I miss my 4+ years of WoW - so many memories, so many new people you met, so much... magic.
Leveling up, I hated this zone. Soon as I was the minimum level for Nagrand I hauled ass out here. Once the Black Temple patch hit though and the Shattari Skyguard were added and nether drakes became available... I spend my several off hours grinding Skettis for rep and spare cash to save up for my epic flight training. It was long and hard and by the end I had more Time-lost Texts than I knew what to do with. That was some summer. Could had more off hours though if I didn't have summer school that year.
I don't play WoW anymore, but I am curious about a thing - what is the "lore" of changing color palette of this zone? I saw screenshots of Talador location from new expansion (which seems to be this place in past) and trees are... reddish. Does anyone know why? Autumn in Terokkar/Talador? :)
The fel green forest of Terokkar is a result of the explosion of the planet and it's remnants. Outland is dying and in WoD you even here from some NPCs that it actually got worse. Draenor on the other hand is alive and well with minimal fel corruption. The forest of Talador which I'm assuming your referring to its different shade is also healthy and alive it's also fall in that zone sorta like Quel'Thelas. Where life grows hope blossoms. The stark contrast between Outland and Draenor makes you realize how dead Outland really is even here in Terokkar the land is dying and soon so shall all that live on it.

Wikipedia: Teriyaki is a cooking technique used in Japanese cuisine in which foods are broiled or grilled in a sweet soy sauce marinade. Well, that didn't help. I am confused too. :D Great music though, so calm and dark. Is it Matt Uelmen's work?
Probably because he read "Terrokar" fast and didn't managed to memorize it. Ter...and something finishing by a "k", I guess. ... well, I can't explain it otherwise.
What would i do to live again those moments

This is going straight to favorites. EPIC music that really gives a glimpse of how things are in a forrest that is located in another world....
Due to that screenshot I cannot decide if the wolf or the spider will win
lmao
Ima say Spider. Do to DOT from possible poison dmg.
I think they're allies and both versus WoW player ;)

False they have a baby and it becomes the first Wolf-Spider
When the organ starts playing - eargasm

Best soundtrack in WoW I think, feels like it's from some sci-fi space movie.

Some of my best times in WoW were in The Burning Crusade, I wouldn't trade them for anything. By far my favorite music has to be Zangarmarsh though ..
The nostalgia is real!

Fishing, Herbalism, listening to the music and if you was lucky picking off pvp players. Good days.
i can't upvote this enough, its unbelievably beautiful. what an experience to have as a kid, lingering here, holding on to memories slightly distorted, of hidden paths and lost footsteps under the soothing beams of light.
Such a tale. Role of a campaing. Everything.
Definitely my favorite music from TBC. Also at a time i had the most fun in WoW. Good combo.
I have been revising and this playlist is so good for revising to, it has no words so it isn't distracting but is calming and really well put together, thank you
I used to fly around for hours on my druid farming Terocone, listening to this ambient beautiful music. Sad
Nothing is sad about loving an epic thing such as the burning crusade

Farming those basilisks in this zone for my raid food buff and fishing, my memories are mainly of end game over actually leveling. xD
