The first car I fell in love with as a kid playing need for speed most wanted , beating taz on the blacklist. Upcoming week I have planned to visit/buy my first IS300 2jzge... Weird that this is real I would never imagine this day would come...
glad you showed the vvti gear rebuild cuz ive never seen it mentioned anywhere and thats seems pretty important to do while you're already doing all the other work lol
I am going through all of these old videos and enjoying it, but still have no idea what is wrong with my 200k mile+ '04 but i have faith in one of these videos i will find the solution. 😅
Take the plastic engine cover off it bakes all the connections.Never ran one one my car and all the connections are like new. 20 years of ownership long live the Queen 👑
Loving the content on your channel! keep it up please. I'll be using your timing belt video to do mine, unless I could drive over and pay you to do mine :)
Lol not currently taking work unfortunately but make sure to have a repair manual also! My videos show most of the process but a good manual will answer any question you'll ever have 🤘🏼
@@RotaryDaddy no really, the past owners of my car zip tied all the problems and so many more things wrong with it but little by little am i bring my is to life. id pay anything to get my car checked out by yours, maybe even save me an engine because that loose bolt was just insane😭
Another question. How tight should be the throttle cable? I just wouldn't like to moving my foot inches and then finally the car accelerates(?) I adjusted mine on my '02 IS300 and ECU didn't like it. But to me, it's way too loose.
Throttle cables should never be tight, get it to the point where there's not really any slack in it but it's not applying any pressure to the throttle linkage and that's all you need.
Hey man I love you videos and I would like to get a toyota altezza however the one I can afford seem to need attention on the throttle pedal sensor. Is the car worth it and is a throttle pedal sensor fixable or replaceable
Why does this remind me of the is300 I just got a couple months back the most neglected is300ci wish I could post pics on here so I could show you how bad the spark plug bay was 🤢
@Robert Stephens ok so like the responsible answer is the one with the lower mileage for a similar price. But is300s are way cooler than bmw's so.... 😂
My IS300 hesitates at low rpms and I've searched everywhere and have replaced many parts to fix it but the problem still persists. What do you think it could be?
If it's what I think it is it's a VERY common problem I've had two of these my best friend had one too for a bit very low mileage does the exact same thing. Unless it just happened and hasn't been like that since you had the car but if it is I wouldn't worry about it it's a pretty common thing at least from my end of it. One guy told me when he did his turbo tune it went away so. You could tune it out but I'm not sure how true that is all I know is it's a very common problem not really a big deal I think it's normal however some people I heard say don't have that problem but not many. I've kind of just accepted it as normal flaw I plan to do a turbo build in the future so we'll if you actually can tune it out.
this car is the very reason I don't trust anyone touching my car and why I do my own service even though I need to hours of research whenever I do anything under the hood.
@@RotaryDaddy Thank you for replying! True, I just haven't looked hard enough in my area. I don't mind the doing the work anyways (most of the time... Toyota's 3.5L V6 spark plugs; not fun). I'm about to buy a 2001 Toyota Altezza with the 3S-GE engine. Is the servicing on that pretty similar to your 2JZ? Specifically referring to your timing belt video. Thanks!
@@ddcll9538 yep they are very similar! That being said it's always good to find documentation on it before you start of course but the info should be out there
you got the best is300 content man please keep it up
I appreciate that bro! 😭 it's only going to get better from here, trust me 😈

Most wanted will always hold a special place in my heart ❤ hope you love the car bro! 🤘🏼
I always wanted an IS300 too ever since I saw them. All these years later, I just bought one a couple months ago. So worth the wait!
Bruh I just got one for 269k miles I'm needa do some work but hoping it'll be worth it 👌 🙏
I saw this car posted for 10k a few months ago, crazy it needed all this work…
That was after I did all this work 😪
literally just finished watching the "5 things to look for when buying an is300" trippy. Glad to see she's still a beauty.
It's like they know... 😂 thanks for watching!
glad you showed the vvti gear rebuild cuz ive never seen it mentioned anywhere and thats seems pretty important to do while you're already doing all the other work lol
I had to do mine twice because of that so I like to make sure people do it all at once lol
Get the FIGS hydraulic hood props
I definitely plan on it but I do have a few things I want to do before I get them...
Awesome video. I need to get this done to my wagon.
Proper maintenance is the biggest flex on these cars haha
@@RotaryDaddyI going to get my friend to do the complete 200k maintenance on my wagon. 🤙🏾
What light is that sir? I need that bright magnetic light in my life
I was very surprised to see how many subscribers you have. Very nice video man! Earned a subscriber
I appreciate you, bro! 🤘🏼
Why does the is 300 look so good 👌
Timeless design! 😚🤌🏻
Love the vids, I really want an Is300 hopefully ill find one. But keep up the great content.

Great stuff. Thanks
Common connector condition with my wagon. Lived it's whole life in SoCal. Hot and dry!
Oh I bet! Happens up here on higher mileage stuff but that silicone made it take so much longer 😂

@@RotaryDaddy yeah, 250,000 on mine
Could you please share the part #s or links for those connectors you replaced? I need the same ones
What about the valve cover gasket? I had mine leaking once that's not included I'm guessing?
Should be! Both valve covers were off, I usually include them everytime I do this job unless they've recently been done
Hey Irvin, do you mind dropping the connectors part numbers? Mine are as well broken

Good can you fix my lexus is300... lol you would have the same reaction and the whole car wad modified ex. Full intake and more.
Have you made a video on clutch change on the is300?
I haven't, I changed my clutch out when I first got it, before I really started doing youtube 😭
@@RotaryDaddy dang no worries, I like how you explain things. Very simple to follow.

Glad you enjoyed it! 🤘🏼
That was the LOOSEST crank pulley bolt I've ever seen! 😄
And the cam gear bolts! Fuuuuuuuckin heeelllllll!!! LOL 🤣
I couldn't believe it lol
15:58 LOOOL why tf does that always happen to me too. or i miss completely and it goes all on the floor
It's inevitable lol
Bro what do I gotta pay you to work on my 2002 is300?
Where did you get the connectors I have the same issue

Some people just don't take care of their stuff man, real disappointing to see with such cool cars tho 🤦🏽♂️
i broke the tab that holds the maf sensor in when i had to replace it last year! everything is brittle its not even funny
My is300 had glued connectors too 💀 it was a nightmare
P L E A S E !! Can you get me the name/paint swatch/code of Her paint?
That is GORGEOUS!
It's bmw atlantis blue
what type of rims are on the first one
The silver one is mine! It has cosmis racing xt006rs on it! 🤘🏼
So again 150k miles bmw 328i or 243k is 300 (would be my daily) both look super clean both about 5k
For a daily I think the bmw would be the better option in this case as the is300 will likely need a good amount of maintenance at that mileage
Is300
@@supershadow230 even with the higher miles?
Robert Stephens yes bro fuck it. the 328i slow. get Lexus. Make sure it’s in good condition and make it cool

i might just have to take my is300 to you, oil ended up in my intake, car started smoking like crazy, way out of my knowledge.
Bad pcv. 5 dollar part

I just got my water pump and timing belt done and changed the radiator. Now temperature running hot. What could it be?
At idle only or also when driving?
@@RotaryDaddy when driving. I added more coolant. Hopefully that helps
@@rickyroeuth yeah I'd think maybe it didn't get bled all the way but if it was low on coolant that makes sense

There are good mechanics out there, but they aren't cheap. If you can learn how to do it the stuff is realistically not too hard 🤘🏼
