I have a bunch of chipmunks running around our house. I have been feeding them peanuts, now they eat out of my hand. They're extremely inquisitive and smart, with their own individual personalities. Nature is beautiful, I wish there would be more love and less hate and destruction in this world.
This has to be one of my favourite TH-cam videos ever, Squirrel when hopping and skipping and playing is just a joy to watch, Bless that Squirrel and all Squirrel kind 🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️👍
There is nothing more precious than the unconditional love of a wild animal. We persecute nature so much in the interests of man and still, they remain forgiving and loving creatures.
I've taken in a lost and orphaned little squirrel. He was so frail and dehydrated when I got him. I'm close to setting him back out to the wild, and I'm so scared. I love how he will just hold my finger in his mouth....with no biting....he just holds it...it's their way of showing affection!
How precious these little wild things are at play and no matter how old squirels get, they stay just as cute. He was really happy to be with you--the cage was done up so beautifully too.
As a kid I had two squirrels as pets, my father had one also. All three were rescue and made the best pets. One lived in a bird cage with the doors open in a tree never left.
SO PRECIOUS! Even after you released him for his freedom, he couldn't stay away from the love you gave him, and his favorite stuffed animal. So heartwarming and so, just wow. :)
This is the best video. It’s awesome they took care of the squirrel. But what makes this story the best. The squirrel was released. The family, I know were worried. But, things like this have to be done to benefit the wild animal. I have several squirrels, but only one comes in. He comes in gets his food in the morning and evening. Just the basic routine. Squirrels are cute, but the teeth can tear up things. Did you see his wire cage. It had a huge hole in it. He was done being caged. Thanks to family who gave me joy watching this video.
He and his bear buddy have such fun rolling and wrestling! Thank you for saving this baby. As I watch this little one...I am feeding my little wild squirrel's at my home. And YES squirrel really IS my last name. 🐿🐾😀💞
I know of one that lived 11 years, she was a sweety. A friend of mine raised her from a baby. Spent most of the day outside, but came inside at night. All on her own, through the doggy door. She did have a family, but no wild born daddy or daddys ever came inside.
Absolute success--congratulations. It's a lot of work & expense to rehab baby squirrels but it's so worth it. They're the most amazing creatures--so clever & funny & loving, so devoted to their habit/instincts like burying nuts or building nests. You did a great job & it's just lovely to see him happy & healthy & free in the trees.
We had a squirrel that fell out of a tree and could not walk. Even though he was “broken” we still loved him to death and spoiled him rotten. No way would he have survived a week if we just turned our back and look the other way. He almost made it to 3 years and in that time he really became a solid part of the family. Even our cat would lay together with him. When he died it was a really sad day in this house and we will never forget the little dude !! RIP little Padiwon 😢
Seriously dude, just, AWW! I'm glad you didn't turn your back, you gave the little one 3 more years to live, so precious! Gosh if I seen a hurt squirrel (or even other animals), I'd have done the same. Every animal deserves a second chance :) God bless!
Tuis is one of my favorite videos!!! I love squirrels. Never knew how loving and playful the are until I helped one that was hit by two vehicles. I was scared at first, but I couldn´t leave her there so I put her in a box and left her in my sewing room to rest. No vet would help me to heal her and set her free. So I feed her creamy peanut butter and water. She started to heal and she got stronger. got her a good size branch to chomp on. If she wanted to hert me she realy could. She played a lot and would sleep in my arms. Finaly set her free. I miss her so much.
Amazing video and amazing couple to make friends with and become surrogate parents to something as squirrely as a squirrel. Folks like this made the earth, and they're becoming rare. Kudos and thanks.
This is so great! I did the same, released him over 2 years ago and he still comes for treats and to say hello. It is wonderful! His little girly friend has started to join him now as well ♥️. They are wonderful creatures that don't get the credit they deserve.
Omg she wags her tail just like my Chipmunk 🐿 does when happy.. I haven’t been able to find any research on the happy tail-wag! So happy to see it here!
I just lost mine this Past Nov. 2017. I have raised several and they are a gift. Her Name was Donut she was 9yrs old. I know my squirrel. I love them I don't see how anyone could hurt such a little bundle of joy.
I have had the honor to hand feed and raise two squirrels. I just released the second one, Dani, about 5 days ago. I call her daily and she will come find me and crawl on me like a jungle gym. The first one “ Twig” lived for three years in my backyard then August 1, 2019 l found her body behind my garage. I have no idea what happened to her, she looked intact, perhaps poisoned. I abSOULutely love my squirrel friends and just gave thanks for the wonderful gift of a friendship with Dani, what a special gift it is. Blissings to you and your squirrel friends.

One of the sweetest stories ever!!! Such wonder and care you put into the inside domain until little one was ready to venture outside!!! I loved watching her go from attack you then run to the tree and back the most I think other than also seeing you keep in touch even after release! I think it cruel to prevent them from continuing to interact if they choose with the person who showed them so much compassion and love!!!

Thanks for posting this video! What a great learning experience. I had the unfortunate pleasure of caring for a young 4 to 5 week old that had fell from its nest with 2 other siblings. She was a lone Survivor. I set up a nesting area for her to stay safe in...in our living room. Hand feeding her was a blast! We played like you did/do with yours. How cool.. When she turned 7 wks old I contacted a local rescue and wildlife sanctuary in our area and turned her over to them. I had a hard time coming to that decision but unfortunately that's the law in my state..😠 Squirrels Rule.....
They are so adorable and playful when young. I rescued one for the first time last year. Squirrels are illegal to be kept as pets in my state and I do believe they belong in the trees unless injured or some special exception. I released Miss Bonnie last November and she built a nest in my garden. She visits me daily and had her own babies twice now. Squirrels are awesome!
