Comeng Transfer to McIntyre for Scrapping

- In this video: Southern Shorthaul Railroad were tasked to haul a retired six carriage Comeng Suburban Electric Train from North Shore yards to McDonnell Railway Rail Plant in McIntyre for disposal. This transfer was hauled by T385, T386, and T381, as they ran in push-pull with Comeng Set: 340M-1020T-339M - 492M-1096T-491M in tow.
This transfer train was limited to run at a speed of 30kph, this was due to the condition of the centre Comeng Motor (492M) being burnt out, after vandals set the carriage on fire on October 19th, 2021. This was the last Comeng Train to be transferred out of North Shore, along with three other trains, which have since been scrapped.

A little sad to see these old Comengs off to the scrapper, after 40 years on the rails they really did stand up to the test of time! Hopefully they keep a couple of them for future generations to see, I remember the old Hitachi's getting towed off and stored up the country in a similar fashion, they had a love/hate relationship with many commuters especially in hot weather when one would roast away in the heat of summer, at least the windows opened. Hopefully these new Chinese trains give us a good run but I doubt they will.

I remember way back in year 2000s I saw Hitachi trains in full of graffiti. I have travelled many times on Comeng trains at Uni times and surely I gonna miss them.

@@matthewmassarotti2596 Oh the line from Newport to Sunshine, yeah there used to be passenger trains on that line pre-1970.
Kingsbury or Brooklyn stations existed.
So McIntyre is a bunch of sidings.
