One of the most underrated cars in history. It must've just been bad timing when they brought it back in 2013. The world wasnt ready for it yet, especially since the C7 corvette was new at the time and less expensive off the lot. With cars like the Performante, ZR1 (and possibly the mid engine corvette on the rise), Ford GT, Dodge Demon/Hellcat and more, the Viper and Viper ACR would've fit in perfectly in todays market. Sad to see it go, and hoping for an epic return in the near future! Dream car for sure.
Hamz_Shaik Sadly with how the world is today, not having many creature comforts and no auto option are two BIG factors that killed it.
Well the latest ones had decent creature comforts. Proper leather interiors and Chrysler UConnect system (regarded as one of the best in the business) with everything including ABS/ESC and whatnot. Its no Benz but compare it to the C7 corvette, its not that lacking. Maybe the viper is a little more hardcore than your usual sports car I guess. You're definitely right about the lack of an auto for sure.
They never offered an RT version, which is 1/2 the sales volume, that is what really hurt the sales. They also never upgraded the horsepower to stay ahead of the pack, a huge mistake. Most people think they never invested the $$ to keep the car ahead of its nearest rivals.
It made almost 650hp which is as much as the Z06, and even base model Vipers had that power, which was faster than Corvettes of comparable pricing, so I don't know if not upgrading the horsepower was as big of a problem as the manual transmission and hand-built production.

A truly strange and mystical car in my childhood. The only modern supercar with a front v10, Berlinetta bodystyling and American style engine sounds. Had a ride in one 9 years ago, 2 weeks before the owner and a Viper fatally crashed. The only time I ever sat in a sports car.
I was about to say (Lexus LFA says hi) until i read (in my childhood) which put me on the brakes 😆

Actually, the Dodge Viper existed since 1989. It was a prototype at the time.
Iraq Iraqi and it wasn’t built by Dodge! The prototype was built by Chrysler/Plymouth. Then in 1993 about 13 prototypes were built to predict the GTS coupe. They were all sent to colleges as of 1993 for the auto shops on college campus. In 2016 Dodge issued a recall and all of them were destroyed. There are actual videos of them being crushed. So sad!!!
NOT all of them were destroyed. Most shops fought to get them back and some succeeded. The tech school near where I live got theirs back

That was awesome to see! The 2006 model actually got a power boost to 510hp but other than that well done
A couple streets down from me there is this guy that has a 1992 Viper cherry red with chrome rims and during the summer or warm days he brings it out to his driveway and every time I leave from my house you can see it a mile away! Never really appreciated them until I saw his.
Wow this was my favorite car when i was young wow so many memories. sadly they don't make vipers no more. I'll sure miss this screaming engine from this beauty i hope they continue soon😞.
I think the stats bars would be much better done by morphing between the models than crank the bars down to zero then back up to the new numbers. That would make it easier to understand how much those stats changed between models and be consistent with the theme of morphing of the car outline.
You haven’t seen my 3rd gen roadster. Beast of a car and a show stopper ! Custom look with custom wing in viper red... Just love the viper.

If I'm not mistaken the '92 model was actually marketed through Chrysler, not Dodge. My late grandfather had one and I'll always remember the Chrysler logo on the cassette player!
I love the videos, and the quality keeps getting better.
The only thing I would suggest adding with each evolution is the price. Maybe the sticker price as an adjusted for inflation price.

It’s crazy to think that the aero the newest ACR has causes a nearly 30 mph top speed difference between non-ACR models. That’s incredible
Its a lot of down force, good for the track but causes a lot of drag at high speeds

I miss the Viper...
It was one of those cars that didn't conform to norms. It was crazy. It was loud. It has a massive engine that didn't necessarily make more power than many modern counterparts and wasn't really efficient to boot.
And yet, I love the absolute crap out of it...

It was only sold for a few brief years here in the UK and didn't even have the Viper name or badges. It was simply called the SRT10.
I hope the Viper makes a comeback one day.
I love all of them from 1992-2017. The Viper looks the same to me despite its evolutions. There's no question what its next evolutions in the future will be like. If they completely change the looks of this Viper, I'm going to be disappointed.

I’ll admit I’m a huge Chevy and corvette fan but the viper and it’s ACR variant will always kick the vette’s ass in. Can’t wait for another iteration of the viper, the viper always comes back when the Vette needs to be put back in its place.

The Viper was discontinued in for good in 2017 because the Viper only had a six speed manual transmission. My idea to get more people to buy the Viper is to at least put an automatic transmission in the Viper. Plus, the car was a two-seater. Like all supercars, roadsters, and the Corvette and Ford GT
Anyone remember the one off 2000 Dodge Viper GTSR Concept? Red with the silver stripes? That was always my favorite Viper even though it was never made into a production version. Always a go to on the older gran turismo games!!

Most people miss the 2.0 as it was only around a few weeks before the bigger and better ACR showed up. It was a TA but with a large rear wing

I have always been a big fan of the viper but I can see why it never sold. It looked great on paper but it was one of the hardest scariest cars to drive. It crosses the thin line of being driving on the edge fun to, one wrong move and you're in a tree.

imo Americas first and only supercar. The Corvette is close but the Z06 is still missing something to turn it into the car that carries America's super car torch.
I loved this car so much through all the years by the looks. It was like the only sports car that I really liked the most. I'm a bit sad that Chrysler stopped making the Dodge Viper at the end of 2016 after the ACR. I'm pretty sure everyone misses it too!
But maybe someday. Someone may revive it I hope but mostly it won't happen!

We may see these again! Dodge has announced they may start making them again. There are some prototypes out there and they look pretty cool to me.
