Ordered a blue oculus model in s45vn. Can't wait to get it. Edit: Got it a couple of days ago and wow! Blown away. The level of detail on the scales is amazing. The action is very sebenza-like. Fits my hand like a glove. Over the moon ecstatic with it.
I love my Spartan Harsey Plague Doctor in s45vn! It takes a while to break in but now that mine is breaking in it is as smooth as my large sebenza 31 and that is incredible! I love what Spartan is doing with these! Excellence in execution!
Do you still have it? Did it break in? I got the full size s45vn plague doctor and love the looks but it is super gritty. Like I’m grinding metal trying to close it. I have a 10 day return window and considering sending it back
Yeah that would be insulting to this knife to pair it up with something like a Bersa... That would be like Mila Kunis hooking up with Jonah Hill or something. Just... No. If you’re gonna carry something like a Bersa, then you should probably stick with something like a Gerber, Schrade, or M-Tech. MAYBE something like a cheap CRKT or one of Kershaw’s Chinese offerings. Hell, maybe even Spyderco’s Chinese made budget brand, Byrd. But you can’t carry a Bersa, SCCY, or a Hi-Point alongside a Benchmade, Spyderco, or ZT. Let alone something like a nice Microtech, Chris Reeve, or Hinderer. It’s sacrilege!!
@@evanacey1414 I have enough options for ccw. The bersa is mostly for my fiancée and sister to get comfortable with shooting something with more kick than a .22lr. And not scaring them away from actually learning.

I can’t believe that the hinderer eklipse went with T6 heads. The screw heads are big enough to take an 8 but they went 6. It makes it hard to use my copper screws. The hex on the xm-18 works way better.
It seems all the high end knifes are hard to break in. My Medford Proxima was, the Hinderer xm-18 I had was, and I hear the Reeve knifes can be , and the Spartan is also.

Actually, that word's base definition means "widely known". But ya, by secondary definition, it definitely is used when someone is trying to say something is well known for a negative trait. It can be used both ways 😉👍

I want one super bad. My biggest gripe with all these high end blades is that they don’t have a 90 degree spine so I have to get creative when using them for bushcraft
This is an old vid but just to clarify, you can call them w custom requests. They were super accommodating and cool to talk to I ordered mine w the limited run nautical engraving scene but w no anodizing
Nice knife, you are right about lots of different options, some really cool scale designs. $525 is expensive but quality usually is. I'd like to see it with a deep carry clip. Thanks for the vids MC.
Tom Smith sebenza is more slicey and has more history. Also carries better in the pocket and slimmer. The harsey has a better heat treat with better edge retention and strength. Better ergonomics and stronger build. It’s kinda like a minimalist vs overbuild s35 Framelock on every level. I own a couple of both and lean slightly towards the harsey. I like Spartans spa treatment and warranty more as well although both are stellar!
Gg Dd it’s thicker than the sebenza for sure. But it’s a very practical and usable edge. Still hair shaves, great cardboard slicer, robust for hard and tough materials. Sebenza is still more slicey, but I haven’t had anything that this harsey couldn’t cut effectively

@Marcquise White no you’re talking about an over travel insert the lock bar insert isn’t necessary as long as the titanium is hardened and the geometry is done right which the harsey is.

I like the knife, but that CuttingEdgeGear printing on the lock side scale is a little obnoxious. It would look a lot better without it.

I actually really like the Wilson combat Eagle, but F is it expensive. A real Talos would be sweet, but I can’t find them anywhere
