Pacey and Joey are literally the only 2 characters on this show you could devote an entire episode to and have it one not only not be boring, but have it be one of the best episodes in the ENTIRE SERIES.
Such a beautiful episode. The way Joey goes over to Pacey and kisses him and they both confess how much they miss each other. What a beautiful embrace. So much love. Pacey couldn’t of looked happier holding Joey and falling asleep.
When I saw this it reminded me so much of my partner and I and how much we miss eachother, how we feel so at home in eachothers embrace no matter where we are. When she broke this off for Eddie, it just didn't make sense. This right here is what love looks and feels like. Glad they were end game.
Devoting one whole episode to Josh and Katie was so smart because they got ripped off in scenes together from season 5 up to this point. My goodness the chemistry between them is so perfect and anyone who watched this show from the beginning know its Joey and Pacey and thats the end of discussion. The scene where she lies next to him in sleeping bag shows how much they want to be together. I will never understand how the writers took this perfect episode and reunited these two then smashed it to bits in the next episode with her basically rejecting Pacey for Eddie. Maybe the most stupid and mind numbing decision she could make. I mean really her decision made no sense after her and Pacey spend the night together. It ruined the magic between them as now you wondered if she really loved Pacey if she could dump him like that and not EVEN struggle with her decision or think of him and what she did to him. Just went back to Eddie and then slept with him and planned to go to Europe. Why go to the bother of bringing these two together and showing us how good they are together and both wanting each other then cruelly destroying it in a way that is so inconsistent with her character. Eddie was no Pacey and any fan of the show knows this and the writers must have been on crack when they did this to the best part of the show.
Writers at times during the show were very pathetic. Whole season 5 was waste and also episodes in season 6 where Joey hook's up with Eddie. As you said, really out of character and in a perverse sort of feel to it.
I think the Eddie thing was done to be a filler til she chose who she wanted at the end. If she'd stayed with Pacey? Though she chooses him in the end? They would have probably changed it, so she chose Dawson in the end. And the world of DC lovers wouldn't have been that intent on seeing that play out. It would have been either too obvious or too boring. I agree Eddie should never have been chosen over Pacey cos he was mind-numbingly ANNOYING and BORING! If they hadn't done what they did to her, to which I'm still SO angry about 20 odd years later, I really wanted Jen and Dawson to end up together!
The creator, Kevin Williamson, and several other execs, were adamant on putting Dawson and Joey together in the end. That’s why Pacey and Joey breaking up twice seemed so painfully out of character and convoluted; the writers couldn’t allow their story to unfold naturally. I’m just thrilled that Kevin Williamson had a last-minute change of heart and did the right thing by having Joey end up with Pacey instead. 🥰
There was so much foreshadowing in this episode that they will be endgame. Pacey's entire arc was about growing up to measure up to be the kind of guy Joey would want to be with (hence the Prom disaster, the break up and the 'career'), only to find out that Joey wanted him exactly as he always was. In this episode it's like they are reverting back to being kids together and how they were when they first fell in love: Pacey looks like S3 Pacey again after shaving, they tease and play, argue and make-up, and the whole "True Love Boat" element is back with Joey's dream of them being cast away. Season 3 will always be the height of perfection and this episode is full of references to that
Yes 100%. I know S5 was a bit of a slog, but to the writers credit, they made some sense out of it here. Pacey saying earlier that his feelings were hurt because Jo seemed to move on from him faster than he hoped, and him admitting he’s been waiting for her to be jealous, etc. Also the fact that he’s become a success, probably in the hopes that he’ll finally be good enough for her, and Joey saying her fantasy was basically them reliving that summer they spent sailing together. It felt like after a long time of not acknowledging the elephant in the room, this episode not only acknowledged it, it wrote a giant love letter to it. I liked how they even wrapped up previous story elements, like how Pacey seemed to move on after S4 by burying his feelings for the sake of the friendship. Hence why he didn’t want to know anything about Joey’s love life.
This was the best part of this episode in 6x15 seeing them spending time together again and how their old feelings for each other never did go away!!!!!! In someways Pacey never got it right with another girl because he was never REALLY OVER Joey he always loved her and she was really the only woman for him!!!!!!!!
The thing is that she was supposed to end with dawson so this moment was the kind of goodbye to joey and pacey, so after things didnt work out with eddie she would go get back together with dawson so it would make scence why she left pacey but in the end the directors changed it to pacey and joey instead of dawson and joey
@@lucyaguiar9598 idk i think it should have been better planned but i love that it was endgame for joey and pacey and really like that they changed it, in a way i kinda see the story making sence but
Josh and Katie will always have a soft spot for each other...when Katie was divorcing Tom, Josh was by her side they will always be there for each even thou they won't be together...but these always hope in the future you never know 😉
My very favorite episode, only Joey and pacey, can do comedy ,make you cry, they absolutely have the best chemistry on Dawson creek . I couldn’t see this with Dawson and Joey, one word BORING The writers, knew, the fans rooted for them, and never wanted Dawson and Joey .
I am African and don't even think Pacey's real life wife is right for him. I want him and "Joey" together! They are just so lovely. And what is the gorgeous instrumental piece that plays when they kiss? that is breathtaking.
I've seen the entire series thrice. The first time I saw this episode I got bored to death...the other two times I simply skipped it. BTW, I consider the last season to be the worst one BY FAR. Reason? It relies so much on Joey Potter that it stood no chance of succeeding. They sort of slighted everyone else, and I hate that. Had they given Jen, Dawson and Grams the same amount of importance, season 6 might have been not so painfully dull. Why the fans love THIS EPISODE in particular, I can't understand, it goes beyond me.

Doesn't she choose the wishy-washy English student over him the next episode?
@@mking1982098 Yeah that sucked. But that had to save them towards the ending of the series.
The one thing in the pro column they are clearly utterly in love with each other.

@@lisashakesby I was SO confused when she told him she “didn’t feel it” that next episode or so. Gutted actually 😂
Joshua Jackson said this was his favorite episode to film, which is sweet since it’s a giant love letter to Joey/Pacey fans.

The best episode in the series
4:35 - i love it when bros give each other respect
Joey has never been hotter than in this episode.
They are the cutest thing ❤❤ the way Pacey holds her love it!!
Love Pacey and Joey's incredible chemistry. This whole episode reminded me a little of the Jennifer Connolly movie "Career Opportunities." 💘
Such an underrated movie. All we needed to complete the comparison was Joey dancing in the CD section like Jennifer did.
Josh also said it’s his fav episode 🥺🥺🥺
Omg I ship them so hard 😍
I'm so happy she ended up with Pacey!!!!
YESSS
Me too 😍😍
best episode of the whole series… and it doesn’t have dawson in it. hm…
Yup love it haha
A Top 3 all-time episode. Damn this was a good one. The two best characters (save for Eve Whitman) with a whole episode devoted to them. Bravo!
You could tell Joshua had deep feelings for Katie
So did she I think...Katie still follows him on social media, he doesnt
They were together for awhile while filming Dawson's creek
They dated for 2 years irl and he was her first boyfriend
@Marie probably cause his wife said he’ll no
I’m all smiles & butterflies!

Is that right? Was he there for her after her Tom split?
Pacey's smile at the end when Joey said we just sleep together from time to time 😂😂😂
And Pacey and Joey leave the K-Mart Store the next morning.
