How much paint would you need for statues of the size you are showing in this video?

thank you for this! when painting(acrylic or latex), is it better to apply them in thin layers? cause i have a concrete pot, primed it and painted it, then put a plant into it. i put it outside and it's been raining for a few days. now, the paint is stating to peel off. i remember i did it with thick paint layer. i'm not sure if that is causing the issue, if the paint did not adhere well to the primer. or is it water from the soil inside the pot. or the weather. what are your thoughts on this?

My preferred is using thin coats even if it takes more coats to get the desired look, it holds up better over time

I heard to use a concrete primer first....is that the equivalent of the watered-down base coat that you use? Also, do you seal it after? Thank you!

The primer is similar but the watered down base coat does a better job and is easier to work with, though both will work.

can you repeat this process when the first watered down base coat has dried? will that increase protection?

It’s not necessary but yes you can do this, it doesn’t really add more protection it’s more for visual reasons.

Another great video thanks for sharing… That birdbath has alot of parts that stick out not an easy pour. Did you pour it in pieces or make seams to reuse?

Do you use acrylic over the latex paint base?

How much do you water down the paint? I don’t want to mess this up. If you can tell me please

I never measure exactly but I would say about 50/50 it’s very runny.

Hi. I have just discovered your videos here, some great advice so thank you in advance. I made a simple concrete bird bath many months ago which is now completely dry (this will be a gift for a friend). I would like to paint this and note your tips about using watered down exterior acrylic latex paint. Is this what it is known as in the UK, would you know? I've Googled so much, but it's hard to find the correct answer. Obviously, and more importantly, I'm wanting to ensure that it wildlife safe. Your advice would be very much appreciated, thank you. Mel.

Hi! So unfortunately I’m not aware of what the paint is called around the world, though you can also search for water based outdoor house paint and see if that provides better search results. Once the paint is dry it is animal safe.

I have a concrete truck i gave a base coat today, 50/50 paint water.
Do the colour coats need to be watered down too or just the base coats? Thanks for advice.
