I've seen this same statue at a local yard art business. Their products lack the detail you get right out of the mold for sure!

Thank you! this week I found an old bird bath and its broken pedestal deep in the woods on my property. It's the pedestal I want to paint; your info is wonderful. The bath part has deteriorated and so heavy it's crumbling when touched, so I pulled it out of the woods to leave sitting under an aging cedar as a planter, then filled it with ground cover and will set St. Francis statue to watch over it. I like your turtle!

I get mine at michaels or Rosanns. They seem to always have good bargains on these. Just got 4 for $5. Just so happened i needed 4 different colors. Good stuff

This is very interesting to me. I live in San Antonio Texas. My parents adopted me as a little girl, and they had what they called a plaster of Paris business so they would make their own mold out of some rubber stuff that smelled pretty strong and poor their own plaster at the time they use plaster, and sell the figurines or use them at the carnivals it was a pitch till you win game
