    Buells are awsome, was the dumbest decision Harley ever made to get rid of them. Both companies would be in a better place right now

      You can thank the Globalist CEO in charge of H-D at the time, that never rode a motorcycle in his entire monkey suit wearing life. And of course the Banksters subprime lending fraudulent practices. Check out EBR's 2024 lineup of 1190's that includes even a 175hp dirtbike called the Baja....

    The title says XB12 skidding. I think the bimmer skidded in his pants when the Buell came past like has was standing still (which he wasn't). Buells are so underrated.

    Love it when he passed him coming into that turn. Too early junior! Haha long live buells. Wow that Buell rips. If you want a raw experience of a motorcycle with decent power, addicting torque, good suspension, and amazing brakes get a Buell.

      The brakes are great for the street. 1 lap at pace on my 1125R at a big track would have my lever coming to the bar. At 75% I could ride it all day but kick it up to 98 and brake fluid boils fast. Haven't had my XB on the track. Should be better because of the weaker motor but IDK.

    • @Ed-ty1kr
      @Ed-ty1kr 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's quite possible you may need a new rubber gasket in your master cylinder on a 15 year old sportbike, since brake fluid absorbs moisture like a sponge. But yeah... the perimiter placement of those brakes does cause alot of heat, meaning brake fluid is important, Motul RBF660, paired with EBC metallic pads, and upgrade away from the floating disc mounting setup to the Eric Buel Racing solid mounting kit.

    Reading many comments from people who likely haven't owned a Buell XB. I have owned one. They are fun (when running), and have lots of character, and do handle well. But make no mistake, this video was showing a faster RIDER, not the faster bike... the s1k is faster, let's not kid ourselves.
    That being said, I've sold my XB, bought a japanese, and am now looking at getting a Buell again.

    • @jonathanragle9838
      @jonathanragle9838 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well to be fair it shares very little with a Harley motor. And it takes a rider with some skill and a willingness to hang it out to hang with an S1000. I've ridden both, currently own an XB-9R (among other things). Buells are great fun and cheap. Enjoy.

    • @aarondavis5000
      @aarondavis5000 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thats the thing... bueller probably did everything we saw in 3rd and some 4th gear only. With way less shifting required you can be smoother, and focus more on things like line, body position, etc. Racers all say "smooth is fast" and the Buell's massive torque at even just 2000 RPM's makes it easy to pick the right gear for a certain set of Twisties forget the clutch and just trail brake in and grunt yourself out of every corner.

    • @PaulMEdwards
      @PaulMEdwards 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Except they did... The 1125 platform got 45% more HP than the XB 1203cc models (146 vs. 101) while keeping almost the exact same torque (82 vs 84 FtLbs) and losing 20 lbs, then the 1190 got another 27% HP & 24% torque beyond that (185 HP & 102 FtLbs torque) while losing about another 20 lbs.

    There is a reason Buells slogan is 'Own the corners'... and if the guy still has his exhaust valve in place, which it appers so, he is getting 85-90 ft lbs of torque on tap at low revs coming out of corners, with that famous V-twin traction that won H-D a century of flat track races. But I'd still get some tuning and a Bosch LSU 4.9 Lambda sensor with a wide band O2 sensor, paired with a baro sensor kit in the intake.

    Honestly it looks like you don't trust the bike. Keeping a higher gear through the corners allows you to be smoother and it unsettles the bike less, which means your exit speed is higher and you dont need to row the gearbox so much.
